Keep being logged out of forum.

Well, i'm one of those silly people who leaves her computer on all day long.

Sometimes (not always) when i come back home from work and start checking up on forum and what been going on while i slaved away. It works fine, i'm logged in and such, but then in the middle of it all. I'm suddenly logged out.
First i thought it was cause i used the forum tools to mark em as read. But while that always made me logged out after some time, and when i logged back in the stuff i marked as read are still marked as unread.
So i stopped using the forum tools. And i still get logged out. Often after making a post, and when i logged back now, the whole forum is marked as read.

I've no doubt i'm doing something wrong on my end, but i dunno what!

the most i know is that your login will timeout and log you off if you have been inactive for so long

as to the other things that are happening, i know the forum has always had some issues with the "already read" and "not read" type stuff

I get the same problem. After I log in I can't see any new posts because "I already read it".

Same here.

Even worse Yesterday it would not let me log in I deleted all the cookies and managed (after waiting the 15 mins ban for 5 attempts) to log in.

I log in today and and everything is marked as read

Same with me. I think I'm banned each time I am auto-logged out. Paranoia hurts.

My issue isn't being logged out. It is the fact I can never keep threads marked as read. Something that was last commented on yesterday when I read it today will still be marked unread when I check back later.

Same here. And it's not an auto-logout. I can leave the boards up overnight while I'm asleep, come in and be perfectly fine with reading what's going on. And other times I'll be logged out going between posts.

I'm having the same problem. IE8 at work and Chrome at home. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it. I could be fine for days, then suddenly I'm logged off 2-3 times during the same day. It wouldn't be much of a problem if I come into the forums logged off. What bugs me is that sometimes I'd spontaneously log off while going to the next page in a thread.

The worst part is it makes the ugly blue hero background default when you're logged out instead of my nice red background for villains.

Also, dunno if it's a cookie issue, i've cleared mine out and i still get forcibly logged out at random.

I #$(@&#(*&$ knew I shouldn't have looked at this (*&#$)(*@&%#) thread. This was happening to me a couple or three weeks ago, then it subsided (despite nothing being changed at my end). As soon as I saw this thread, I started cringing, then BAM!, logged out just as I send off a reply to a PM.

In fifteen years of posting on forums, and three as an admin at one, this is the only one that's ever done this. Hell, the moped forum I check daily (and which also uses vBulletin) has had me logged in for over a year now, without a single "hiccup".

I have been having this problem intermittently over the last few weeks. I spent 5 years logged into the forum without needing to log back in except when they moved the boards or I clicked the wrong button.

Now I get booted out periodically when trying to navigate between pages. Interestingly, I always get to the forums in a logged in state for my very first entry to the forum everyday. After that it may work . . . or it may not. It does seem to happen more often if I leave the boards open but inactive for an hour or so.

It happens both on Chrome and IE8.

I've been having this issue for weeks now especially, but since this vBB POS was installed.

I lose login coming here from my start page, between pages, even refreshing the page to see posts since I've been reading a thread. It annoys me to no end.
