  1. Don't waorry about slotting for damage untill your 30s. Just focus on accuracy and recharge, plus whatever endurance reduction you need to maintain. Some teams might get angry at you, but once your in a mission you should never stop. Brutes have one speed. Keep defense and resistance inspirations on you as much as possible and keep it at full throttle.

    Enjoy!
  2. I'm all purpled out with all the accolades and consider my WP Brute to be pretty top of the line. He gets 50.77 HP per second with no enemies in range. 81 with one enemy in range. 168 with max enemies in range.

I think 71 with one enemy in range is very solid for a build that isn't spending billions.

To echo what some others have said, defense is still very important. I run Heightened Senses, Weave, Combat Jumping, and have a Steadfast unique 3% defense IO on all my WP characters.

    Good luck!

There is plenty to do solo. Bottom line is you won't be able to do everything solo in a team oriented online game. They go out of their way to still make it enjoyable for folks like you, but you still complain. It's really that simple.
  5. It amazes me that so many people feel that they should have a right to do anything in an MMO solo. I mean, it's an online world with thousands of people. The whole idea is to team with other real live people. If you don't want to team I think you should just do the things you can do alone or play a different game. Demanding that all content in an MMO be solo friendly is like complaining about the noise at a rock concert. It's just part of the experience. Otherwise this game would just be a one player game that didn't even require an internet connection.
  6. NO Kilts on monstrous legs. I've never used monstrous legs and this is why. Just saying.

I agree with the chap who mentioned Bears. I was really surprised and disappointed to see no Bears, Apes, Pigs, or Rhinos or Lizards or....well I wish it would have been bigger. Maybe an animal pack #2 is in order down the road.

A dog head would have been really cool too. Like a big wrinkly Neapolitan Mastiff head. I would have totally rolled a Dog Brute in a trench coat.

  7. I was all for it until the very end when I read that you have to defeat both AVs within 10 seconds of each other. That is horrible. I'd bet money that everyone hates that and it changes. It's going to be hard enough to get enough cooperation from 20+ people to beat this thing....the 10 second thing at the end is just ridiculous.

I guess after 5 years I'll finally have to join a real SG and make friends, because 20+ random people thrown together by match maker don't stand a chance of pulling this off.
  8. The beast run is really nice. Losing your weapon when you move is a bit annoying but I suppose that is required. It definitely needs a backwards animation. It feels unfinished as is.

I have one suggestion with the beast run as well as ninja run. When toggled they act a a travel power. Not quite as fast as super speed, not quite as high as super jump, but a perfect blend to get around town. I see why you cannot use these toggles in conjunction with Combat Jumping, however it is quite annoying to have to toggle out of character when fighting and toggle back into character to travel between battles.

My suggestion is to include a second toggle for each of these new running animations. A "Battle Toggle" Same animations as the travel toggle, but with numbers comparable to sprint instead. This way you could leave it on while in missions and in battle like most do with sprint anyways, but you can still use powers like Combat Jumping without having to use regular old sprint which results in a normal stance.

Then when you are ready to travel again you can switch to the faster travel version of the toggle.

Just an idea. I use Ninja Run a lot and this little thing bothers me quite a bit. If we are going to be getting more of these alternate running animations, it might be a good time to make this option available.
  9. WP is not squishy at all and Claws offers quite a bit of control with it's range and KD/KB. Keep tinkering and researching and you'll eventually be very happy.

    Couple pointers.....

WP is all about the Max HP and regeneration rate. Don't worry about putting to-hit debuffs in RttC, you want it slotted for maximum health.

Tough and Weave are a must with WP.

If you can't afford a really expensive build, put a full set of Mako in your attacks. The bonuses go well with WP.

Spin is your friend. Get it slotted for maximum damage and recharge and mow down mobs.

Use offense for defense. When you attack a mob use Focus to keep the toughest guy on his butt and Shockwave to keep the rest of the mob on the ground. Energy Torrent is basically a second Shockwave and really allows you two keep entire mobs knocked down while you destroy them with Spin.

Not only does shockwave work well with Claws, but the entire Energy Mastery Pool is a good fit for WP. You can take the "auto" powers that cost no endurance but increase your regen and recovery.

Good luck and stick with it. Claws/WP can be a truly dominant Brute.
  10. So id the LRSF still the SF of the week? or is there a new one?
  11. I have the same problem but only when clicking the Oro crystal to open the mission menu.
  12. My graphics card has crashed 5 times in the last two days, but it only happens when I click on a crystal to open up the mission menu in Oroburos. Strange.

Everyone is freaking out about getting into to CB, and that is only because they want to see the new stuff, not actually test. If all you want to do is see the new shinies, then you can wait till launch. CB is for TESTING and BREAKING the stuff, not looking at it so you can say you seen it before it went live.

The way I see it, unless you’re a player with a great track record for tracking down bugs and stuff, you don't need to be in CB. If you just want to play with the new shinies, why play with all the new stuff and spoil the "new" factor before the content even goes live?
    All very true.
  14. I'm not sure how much your looking at spending, but if your gonna throw down some big bucks, this is a build I plan on using someday. The character is currently only lvl 22 and has been for some quite some time, but eventually I want to make this AoE god.

I didn't try to plug the Toxic hole, so I plan on using power surge alot when fighting toxic enemies. This build really doesn't have any other weakness. Survivability should be pretty sick.

It's got swipe, slash, focus, and follow up as a single target buzzsaw chain, but the money is in Spin + Lightning Field. I plan on using Electric Fences to help keep mobs in place, while I watch them melt from Lightning Field and Spin.

    Hami Raid

5 year vet. Never done a Hami Raid. I'd love to get in on this if it materializes. Jacob Law is a DB/WP Brute.
  18. I thought that was how it worked. Just wanted to make sure before making the investment. Thanks alot for the feedback!
  19. Well I for one am very happy to hear about new challenging content for lvl 50s. I just hope this is more popular than the revamped Hami Raid. I can never find anyone to get a Hami Raid going. Hopefully this ends up being more like a Riki Mother ship raid, where it's fairly popular and easy to get a bunch of folks on board!
  20. They said an altered version of the CoP trial. I don't think it will have anything to do with base raids. More likely a Co-Op Trial. Maybe the whole zone will become Co-Op?
  21. I one one power left on my brute build. The build is very tight, but I really have no power I want at 49, so I was thinking of taking concealment, not to use, but only to slot Shield Wall: 3% resist to all in it. My question is, would I have to actually click on the concealment toggle evey so often to get the 3% resist? or is Shield Wall considered a glabal that is always on wether I toggle the poqwer on or not? Thanks!
  22. I had thought about making this post myself. Way too many temp power recipe drops. It's not the end of the world, but it is annoying and everytime I get one, I can't help but think it could have a "real" recipe that I might have wanted. To me they are totally useless, so it's like getting a " Sorry, Please try again" game peice on my supersized fries.
  23. Sam_Sneed

    Seriously

I always seem to miss more when it comes to any dark powers. Even if I'm just being effected by a teammates toggles. Dark powers just seem like they have some -acc bug. It's probably all in my head, but after 5 years of playing it still feels like it to me.

Also, my first atatck after popping an inspiration always misses....or atleast it seems like it.
