North American Training Room unavailability - Week of July 19th
Hmm....putting GR on the NA server?
Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.
One can only hope but I will not hold my breath.
Setting Test up for play at Comic Con, I'd imagine.
Triumph: White Succubus: 50 Ill/Emp/PF Snow Globe: 50 Ice/FF/Ice Strobe: 50 PB Shi Otomi: 50 Ninja/Ninjistu/GW Stalker My other characters
This is the most likely answer. As an added benefit though it might mean the test server will have an open beta starting next week. Then again, that might be wishful thinking.

But when do the Loyalty Program & 60 month veterans get their closed beta invites?

For me, I'm not in the beta, but I'm looking forward to see GR fresh and hopefully major bugs free when I get back from the cottage.

I will say this, it's currently downloading 679 meg of something so that's way larger than a simple patch.
It's really nice that the people who, in good faith, expected something more than a two week preview of GR, and were actually interested in BETA testing by making sure they kept to their end of the deal, are getting treated properly.
I didn't expect to be brought in on the first wave, but I certainly didn't expect to be relegated to a week early version of a 'free preview'. It was my hope to actually be a part of the 'testing' process, as being told that as part of the loyalty program would give us 'Closed Beta'.
Yes, if they give it to us with a week or two before it launches, they will have technically have fullfilled their end to the 'letter' of what they said, but for those of us who really and honestly did want to be a deep part of the assisting to help find bugs and test things, this has been an utter disappointment.

Sadly it's possible I may have to eat those words now, as it looks like history is repeating itself.
Let me be clear, I really don't care in the end if I get/got into beta or not. I've had my share, over half of them since i9's first closed beta, and I did a lot of actual work, especially on Flashback testing back in..11 or 12. I had a year paid account when the loyalty program went in, so I was going to get it regardless, and I didn't pay with the expectation of getting anything, I was just playing and having fun.
However, by the same token, I understand that when a group of people believe something in good faith and it turns out to be less than ideal, why they might be upset.
This is to say nothing of the fact I passed 60 month status in June, and I won't even touch that one.
Color me disappointed, at least. Oh well, life goes on. With Alpha Incarnate removed, there wasn't that much I was actually interested in testing, as I didn't want to "spoil" the storylines for the tip missions and Praetoria anyway, so I guess there wasn't much to test. Perhaps I'll have better luck in i19 when all of this hackneyed "Loyalty" stuff is over with.
"Superman died fighting Doomsday because he allowed his toggles to drop, and didn't beat Doomsday before Unstoppable wore off, sad really..."
*sighs* Yeah...I was sort of afraid this would be how it would turn out in the end. If it's just ComicCon, that's even more sad, hopefully it's more than that. I had a friend who was a vet to the game back when CoV was in beta (I was only in for about 4-5 months and didn't even know CoV was coming until the public announcements) that were supposedly guaranteed access to the beta if their paid time was at least 18-24 months, something like that, similar to this situation. They never got in, even though it was promised, and that person is still bitter about it to this day, even though I pointed out that that was the "old administration" and Cryptic, and while we expect that from them, that Paragon would be much more on the up and up in a similar situation."

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
I can understand bunching up ones panties after the fact but nothing has happened yet. Why all the bunching now?

i have a friend who let it slip the other day that he is in Beta now... a 60+ vet...
No one goes there anymore, it's too crowded...
"The potato goes in the FRONT."
And I second pretty much everything PeerlessGirl said about this whole beta business. I wish the devs would be more clear on what they meant when they said "loyalty programs" and "pre-purchase (blah blah)".
Sure I'm disappointed too, but I'm not gonna get my boxers up in a bunch about it.... too much.... Some dev clarification would be nice, though. But I can understand how busy they must be right now.
C'est la vie.

Because we were told we were to be invited to the closed beta. Most of us (including myself) took it as part of the 1st waves to help catch major bugs & issues. But letting us in a week or 2 before it goes to open beta is pretty ****** if you ask me. GR is going live in less than a month & I haven't heard of any news regarding when the Loyalty programmers or 60 month vets will be allowed. But if its just going to be a week or 2 before open beta, then why did I even bother?

Just because there is a Closed Beta for GR does not mean there will be an Open Beta. CoV did not have an Open Beta. It went from closed straight to live. With less than a month until GR launch, I doubt they plan on having an Open Beta.
Everyone is freaking out about getting into to CB, and that is only because they want to see the new stuff, not actually test. If all you want to do is see the new shinies, then you can wait till launch. CB is for TESTING and BREAKING the stuff, not looking at it so you can say you seen it before it went live.
The way I see it, unless youre a player with a great track record for tracking down bugs and stuff, you don't need to be in CB. If you just want to play with the new shinies, why play with all the new stuff and spoil the "new" factor before the content even goes live?

It's just disappoining is all, as I expected better.

I'm not surprised to see this post however, it's pretty much required on the CoH forums, ironically, I'm normally the one making it.

Note: This is why I phrased my reply as I did, though I figured the inevitable response would follow, and frankly, I have a fairly amazing track record, I'm not arcanaville, whom I'm sure has been in CB since about day 5, but I worked my butt off in every CB I was in...except I passed on i10 because it was all Rikti storyline stuff, and didn't stay closed for more than 2 weeks, and not much was going on.

You know, there is a factor of human nature, that says when people tell us one thing and then do the opposite, we tend to lower our opinion of their truthfulness. i have seen the devs do a bunch of cool things and a bunch of crappy things..I wil let you guess which side this lands on.
ps: loyalty is a 2 way street.
Lots of 50's yada yada. still finding fun things to do.
