I've very interested in seeing how they are going to handle the refunds for people who had yearly subscriptions.
I have two of them.
One expires at the beginning of Feb, the other at the end.
I'm wonding how they're going to count the 'free' month. Since it looks pretty sure that they're credit us for time paid after the first of September, I'm looking at either a 9 month or a 11 month prorated refund.
I'm willing to bet that they're going to take the former, rather than the latter.
Scummy if they do it that way...purely scummy. -
This is a wonderful gesture, and I only wish I had been able to contribute.
Next time you do this, can you please make it so that folks who don't live and breathe here on the forums are the only ones who can contribute? -
Tony, you might want to (have to) look at indiegogo.com as a possible crowdfunding source.
Kickstarter has some pecularities in it regarding what it will allow to be crowdfunded.
It's more of a 'we fund your creation' idea, and since you're trying to fund the purchase of something that's already built...they might say no. Not saying that they will, but it's worth looking at indiegogo as well. -
Quote:Then why not split it the other way around and create new F2P servers where VIPers can go if they prefer more active/crowded playingfields? Some players love to start out from square one on an unexplored server, after all.
I have a feeling that Founders Falls on the Vip server will be amazingly similar to the one on the other servers.
The only reason that a person would leave their current community to move there is to be a snotty elitest who think that they'll contact leprosy from the unwashed masses of F2P people. -

IT's my hope that we don't see many people from virtue going.
I see the possible influx of people as a good thing. We will potentially have new people to RP with, to build comraderie with, and to share the game we love with.
There are enough restrictions on the Free accts that I really don't think they'll be much of a problem at all. Not more of a problem than people currently on free trials currently sometimes give.
We have a real chance to get the RP community to grow nicely here. Of course, not everyone will be interested in it, but how's that different than now?
If we are open, welcoming, friendly accepting and inclusive, we will accomplish FAR FAR more than some of the snobbish responses I've seen so far. (at least on the main discussion thread. ) -

Quote:After the patch and upgrade to the ncsoft launcher, when i log into COH i get an EULA I have to accept everytime before the server selection pops up. Is there anyway to get rid of that?
No.. just like in the previous launcher where you had to click accept each and every time.
Yes, you had to do that just like before.. it's just different so that's why you're notcing it now. -
Wow.. installing this was just as simple as double clicking. It went in..installed in a breeze...and ran like a charm. (win 7 by the way)
Downloading a patch seemed to be far quicker than before but it was the actual applying of the patch that went amazingly quicker.
Thanks much. Thumbs up from this satisified customer! -
What the big thing that irks me is that we're getting freespecs doled out TOMORROW...
so.. my choices are.. make chars now so that I can have a freespec sitting on them. Or sit with my thumb up my posterior waiting until GS gets their kiesters in gear and get the codes out.
Wonderful loose/loose situation. -

Quote:Seeing as how I've never said anything before this, I can't see that my silence about not getting in could put me on any kind of list to NOT get in. I don't follow that train of logic at all. Complaining about something that I was promised, but not yet be delivered on is fully within my purview. I am no, nor have I on any other things I have been under an NDA, released information, so that statement of yours is intellectually dishonest.I really think that these closed beta issues for people, should be taken up with NCSoft Support, the Community Moderators etc. I don't think complaining about it in the forums is going to get this taken care of. In fact, and this is pure speculation, it might be one of the reasons your not in the closed beta.
Closed Betas rely on a certain level of discretion with the NDAs and what not, by complaining over the forums like this, your demonstration a lack of discretion.
Just a thought.
As for the training room being unavailable... I'm sure it's for comic con or what ever, but it's kind of inconvenient. I love to test new builds, recipes and such on the training room and that means I can't for the next week. I know it's a small thing, but at the same time, did they really have to do this with the training room? They couldn't do it with training room 01 or something?
As for contacting someone. Who? PS has been shuffling people around so much it's difficult to tell. A month ago, I would have said that might be Doc Deliliah, but she's been gone for three weeks and a friend of mine who PM'd her about another issue is not only waiting for a response, the pm hasn't even been read.
There is no clear cut chain of response that we've been given. No "This person is in charge of X". -
Quote:I'm sure the french folks who are part of the loyalty program are quite happy with this.Just FYI, Avatea posted to the french forums that the Loyality Program folks will be getting in "promptly" which I assume is the translator's version of "soon."
Since it can't be bothered to be posted on the English forums, it makes me wonder. -

Quote:Doesn't it bother you people that it looks like Joe Random wandering around Comic Con will get to play Going Rogue before people who are 60 month vets, have their loyalty badge or more importantly, actually paid for Going Rogue?
I guess the answer to that question is the reason that the devs get away with it.
.
Yes..yes it does. Quite a bit actually. -
It's really nice that the people who, in good faith, expected something more than a two week preview of GR, and were actually interested in BETA testing by making sure they kept to their end of the deal, are getting treated properly.
I didn't expect to be brought in on the first wave, but I certainly didn't expect to be relegated to a week early version of a 'free preview'. It was my hope to actually be a part of the 'testing' process, as being told that as part of the loyalty program would give us 'Closed Beta'.
Yes, if they give it to us with a week or two before it launches, they will have technically have fullfilled their end to the 'letter' of what they said, but for those of us who really and honestly did want to be a deep part of the assisting to help find bugs and test things, this has been an utter disappointment. -
That's very very heartening to hear. I know that I might sound like I want my cake and eat it too, but i DO also want new stuff, but with all of the bright and shiney games out there competing for attention, im thrilled to see that they are going to address this.

Quote:Me too, and I sincerenly hope it won't be the achilles heel of the game.I like the big wide openness of the underground. Looks cool and it won't be hated like the dreaded narrow caves we have now.
I do not want to see CoH suffer from 'Tortage' syndrome. A GREAT 1-20 experience followed by a bit of a lackluster set of areas and missions thereafter, in comparison to the previous experience.
If I were a new player, and I played through the 1-20 content in Prae and then got dumped into Paragon city, with it's obviously old game design philosophy, I'd have a serious case of WTF.
The visual appeal of the dynamic city that is Nova Prae is utterly absent from most of Paragon, and I very much hope that the devs are seriously reconsidering their attidute of "never redo the old.. only add new". This is on case where "no new, fix old" would be of benefit to them. -
Thankfully.. VERY VERY few of them.

I'm actually not sure how I feel about this news. I'm happy that it's no longer an issue, but frankly, by settling, hasn't NC tacitly said that this guy's suit has merit then? why did they not just go ahead and make this guy present his case in court, and then turn around and sue him for legal expenses? I realize that sometimes it's nice to make annoying little gnats go away, and in this case they might have done that. I just am slightly worried about NC giving ANYTHING to this turdburglar that might in any way legitimize his position.

Always love seeing the artwork you're getting, both here and on DA.
