Give me Manbearpig and we'll talk.

So, i was prevously a VIP then switched to a free for awhile due to financial reasons, yet when I came back and upgraded to VIP, all my characters are now locked. The game gives me like 6 unlock tokens, but that isn't nearly enough. Do I seriously have to buy unlock tokens for all my Alts now, just because I decided to take a break for awhile?
I hope the answer is no. -
I disagree. It's IOs that made end game content easier. A good scrapper can take +0/8 no probelm, an 8 man team is just overkill. Incarnates are just icing on the cake. Besides, isnt the point of being an incarnate to be...overpowered?
-
In my opinion, the F2P chat restrictions are absolutely STUPID! How can you restrict the most BASIC of player chat needs? It's an MMO for crying out loud. I understand that F2P people shouldn't have the same luxuries as VIPs, but I hardly consider effective communication a luxury; more like a requirement.
I know that they're banned from certain ATs, which I completely disagree with but whatever, and I think someone else mentioned that they're banned from Inspirations. Is that true? If it is, than that's just sad.

I agree OP -
Which is why I said it looks as if. It reminds me of boxing's punch with an angle attached to it. As for the uppercut, that's cool.
-
Quote:Exactly!I want to hear ribs cracking when I use Rib Cracker, I want to hear the celery-wrapped-in-a-towel-and-broken 'k-k-krack' when I use Shin Breaker, and I sure as hell want to hear the sharp snap of enamel as my foe's teeth smash together when I use Crushing Uppercut.
(Also, would it be too much to ask to add a few tooth-shaped particles to the landing FX on Crushing Uppercut?)
Although, I'm not sure about the whole teeth particles hitting the floor thing though. -

Hey all, so far I'm loving the set. Concept wise, it's been what I've been waiting for ever since CoX released. Not that I don't like Martial Arts, it's just that it never really appealed to me. But moving on, I wanted to share my thoughts and concerns about the set, and also to gauge how others are feeling. So here goes...
Pros
1. Performance wise, it's incredible. Whenever I come across a stranded boss or Lt. that's decided he wants to go mano-e-mano with me, I get a slight smirk on my face thinking to myself, "Oh, you dun gone and screwed up now!"
2. I also love the combo builder/finisher mechanic implemented. It's a nice take on the Dual Blades mechanic with enough of a spin that I don't feel the need to take all the powers. Nothing says "This is gonna hurt you alot more than it's gonna hurt me" like a level 3 punishing strike.
Cons
1. My only con with the set is while it is powerful, IMO, it doesn't feel like it sometimes. When using a few of the attacks such as Heavy blow and Initial strike, I often times can't tell if I my attack landed or whiffed unless I'm paying attention to their health gauge. The sound effects, IMO, could benefit from a bit more "umph" behind the attacks's contact.
It makes sort of a "whiff" (The sound of missing) sound when a "WHAP!" or "CRACK!" sound when do it more justice (no pun intended). This would be especially preferred on larger teams when the simple "whiff" gets overshadowed by the more painful sounding attacks (Smite anyone?).
2. Also, the animation for heavy blow looks quite underwhelming, it looks as if it was recycled from Boxing from the Fighting pool. Not that I have a problem with recycled animations, but boxing?
But yeah, these are just my thoughts on the set, and as such should be taken as nothing more than an opinion. I'm not bashing the set, as I quite enjoy it (cant wait to try the tier 9), but my main is concern is the hit behind the punch. A bit more visual and/or hearing umph behind the attacks could help.
I'd be interested in hearing how others feel. -
What this suggestion proposes is a toning down of the requirements needed to obtain a Very Rare Incarnate Component while still keeping it rather costly. I suggest this because as we know, the trial's participation based rewards can be quite frustrating for some, especially at times when you feel outright cheated; and as of now in my honest opinion, the requirements needed to craft a VR component is rather ludicrous ($100,000,000 plus one of every Rare). So, here's my suggestion...
Just like they've implemented a side and downgrade feature to the system, institute an upgrade feature. However instead of upgrading 1 common to 1 uncommon on a 1:1 ratio, you'd need 3 Commons to make 1 Uncommon; 3 Uncommons to craft 1 Rare, and 3 Rares to craft 1 Very Rare. Thread costs per upgrade included (just like with the side/downgrade feature). This way, even if you do happen to get that Uncommon when you were hoping for a Rare, you can take relief in knowing that the Uncommon you just recieved is merely just a piece of the puzzle.
I believe this method would help eliminate some of the 'grind' we feel when doing the trials and also help us feel as if our goal isn't completely out of our hands. I mean, this formula worked well with inspirations, so I figured, why not import it to the incarnate system?
Any Thoughts?? -
Hmm, I like the concept however there's something about the set that just doesn't sit right with me. Firstly as an electric set, I'm surprised that you didn't include more -recovery to foes as that seems to be electric's niche.
Secondly, the set leans heavily on buffing teammates and little debuff, mitigation, or any sort of interaction with foes, which gives it absolutely zero solo possibilities. Last and foremost, with every single power being a buff, can you imagine giving all 9 of those buffs to single scrapper? Good Lord!
*Cowers in corner* -
Whoa! I'm seeing November and early December in this thread. That's a looooong time considering we've only had 1.5s issue so far this year. But now that I think about it, I wouldnt be surprised if it did take that long. THings have been slowing down as of late.

I honestly don't need epic story arcs for solo incarnate progression. Just give me a mission system similar to what Cimerora has and let me run generic missions that reward iXP. And maybe, just maybe, throw in a astral mertis for every 3 or so missions completed? Make Prometheus or one of the Ouroboros guys the contact and wham, problem solved.
I don't think it's asking for much to not want to run giant 24-man trials to unlock rewards. Sometimes you just want to log on and move at your own steady pace. -
My Fire/SS tank does ridiculous damage for a tank, and has great survivability. But as we all know, Fire/* is neccecarily the sturdiest of them all. So, when teams mention that "yes, we do have a tank on team" I reply with "No, you misunderstand, I'm not a tanker, I'm a Scranker dammit!"
-
???
To the OP, I agree 100%. I feel so much less powerful when my SS brute can tear through EBs and cause the earth to tremble with one blow, only to be stalled by an inanimate object. It wouldn't be so bad if they had something like forcefields around them for protection. That I can buy. But as I'm wailing on this thing, I find myself thinking, if this damn thing is so freakin tough, why don't the baddies just carve the material into armor?? -
Quote:Personally, i despise wings, and jet packs don't fit thematically into any of my toons. But, I'd wear a back emblem with honor!the issue with back emblems is that it would be on the same slot your wings/backpack is, so when you choose the emblem you can't place anything els there.
-
Wait, how much are the unlockable costume pieces?
Also, since I'm here I'd like to make the following proposal. Devs, please reconsider the "grinding" of irewards. You've designed so many years of content for this game, only to limit us to playing content from the last three months. Is it so wrong to give us cake and let us eat it too? -
Am I the only one here that noticed the new Incarnate costume?!? My goodness, those costumes look as if they've descended from the heavens themselves. Me want, NAO!!
EDIT: Nevermind, just took another peek through the thread. But still, who cares if you need to be 50 to use it. I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. -
I don't get it. You spend hours upon hours taking your lvl 1 hero/villain to lvl 50. And then once you get there, you spend even more hours min/maxing the build with IOs, then once you're done that, you spend more hours running incarnate trials to make yourself even stronger. THEN you come on here and complain that you're too strong??
This argument is as silly as a man suing Mcdonalds for making him fat or very muscular man getting upset with his gym for making him too fit. You reap what you sow people.
Besides it's not like you HAVE to use your incarnate powers. There is the option to unslot them. Heck, it's not like you have to use your IOs either. Dual builds ftw.
As for the OP, expect those numbers to halve once the rest of the incarnate abilities are introduced. -
There are alot of things CoX can continue to do with animations and what not, and this is one of them.
-
Hey guys, is there currently a way to turn off the action camera, and if not, can there be? And by action camera (not sure what the correct term is) I mean that function that twists the camera around to focus on your target.
Many times in the game I find myself trying to pay attention to more than two things at once, so I center my camera in a position that allows me to do so, but once I launch an attack, the thing does a complete 360. I'm sure it may not bother some players, but it'd still be nice to have the option.
Any thoughts? -
Fire/SS tank named Hard Boiled. Nuff said
-
I have to agree. I was so accustomed to hearing the old voice when I taunted that it practically became part of my character. Now it just feels like I'm playing someone else.
-
This upcoming Saturday, say around 3:00?
- If enough of us are willing, I have a Fire/SS tank (Hard Boiled) that could use the good time.
So, any takers? -
With the way the story has been being presented, it seems that a few people seem to think otherwise. Besides, I wasn't neccecarily refering to Lambda, I was speaking in general terms.
