  1. Something I'm not sure anyone else has mentioned - the complaint of not being able to dodge things like the bubbles in the sewer trial because you were stuck in a long animation. Almost all the enemies with such abilities give you at least five seconds to notice and move. To my knowledge there exist precisely four powers in the game with animations longer than five seconds - the sniper powers scrappers and stalkers get in their patron pools. Even regular snipes and Assassin Strikes, which would be the next longest, are half a second or so short I think. And all of those are in fact interruptable.

So ignoring those, since there's no valid complaint there as they're all just as interruptable as you'd like them to be, let's consider something like Total Focus, a power known for its ungodly long animation. Total Focus animates in 3.3 seconds, leaving you 1.7 seconds to move. Is this somehow not enough? Are you lagging that badly, that you press the button and it takes almost two seconds for your character to respond? Are you paying that little attention that you manage to miss the giant red text warnings that tend to pop up if you're anywhere even remotely close to being in range of such abilities? (Sewer trial exempt there cause it has no such warnings and really should if you ask me.)

I dunno about you, but I'm not really seeing a problem here.

You could't just tweak the existing support sets, you'd have to design new ones from the ground up for this idea to be even remotely viable.
That or make this the only AT able to use buff powers on itself. That'd reduce the number of changes needed to the various sets, but is probably more trouble than it's worth to implement.

We need to hook the LFG queue up to the Signature Story Arcs, Cavern of Transcendence trial, and Positron's taskforces as soon as possible.
As I understand it the plan is to hook up all the older TFs and trials to it, eventually. I'd imagine there's tech issues holding them back from adding TFs though, since they're multiple missions from a contact rather than the current LFG trials which I think function more like zone events on a single specific map.
  4. Personally I would replace taunt/confront in the melee set with some form of defensive power for this AT, rather than messing with the support sets.

I still think Ion Judgement should've been that. Or we should've had it as another judgement option.
  6. Personally I still think we need Fleet Judgement - Throws an aircraft carrier at the enemies. It's like Propel but bigger.
  7. Not enough levels is right though. If only cause of late it seems most of the content being made outside of praetoria and the revamped starting zones is 20-30 stuff. And there's SO MUCH 20-30 stuff now that it's impossible to do it all. Which is fine. But then you get to 30, and suddenly there's next to nothing.

At 20-30 there's, and I'm probably missing some:
    - 5 original story arcs/ sets of contact missions (Not sure if they're all proper arcs, ages since I've done the original stuff).
    - 4 arcs in Striga
    - 2 arcs in Croatoa
    - 2 arcs in Faultline
    - One signature arc.
    - Seven or eight arcs in First Ward
    - 2 doppelganger arcs (The ones in Talos)
    - Roy Cooling's arc
For a total of 20 or so arcs in a ten level range. That's two arcs a level, which I suppose is doable if you solo all the time and stealth through anything that can be stealthed. And then you get to 30, and there's next to nothing. There's the five original contacts, the tail end of Croatoa, and the start of the Rikti Warzone. And that's it.

In short: Lower ranges have enough content, more 30-50 content please.

It would also give further justification for Ouroboros to be involved and hosting the seemingly random assortment of Incarnate NPCs who keep turning up there.
This gives me an idea: In the final trial where we fight Tyrant, have him be literally unbeatable and result in a dramatic escape sequence where you have to get the hell out of dodge before he pastes you across the walls. Then after THAT, have a suitably epic taskforce or trial involving the menders sending you back in time to stop Tyrant making that deal in the first place, thus setting history back how it should be.

Although that'd be a massive undertaking for the dev team cause it'd mean they'd have redevelop Praetoria entirely if they wanted to keep it in the game. So that'll probably never happen, regardless of how awesome it'd be.
  9. I could get behind this, within some reasonable limit to give free players a taste without taking away any reason to actually buy points. After all, getting people to pay for the game whether in points or in monthly subscription is still the aim.

Still. I wonder if adding an option to receive a small number of points rather than merits for TFs and story arcs wouldn't be out of the question. If you keep the number large enough to be worth taking but small enough to not ruin the company's whole business plan, it could be beneficial.
  10. I have a plant/storm controller laying around that I could use for this, she's level 37 I think. Would depend on timing though, I live in New Zealand so timezones keep me out of a lot of things.

I dislike Go Down Fighting for two reasons, 1) I feel it kind of rewards you for doing your job (support) poorly. (Same argument as many have with Vigilance.) 2) I really don't like powers you can't use until someone dies (Rez excepted, because it returns them to the fight, instead of capitalizing on their demise).

It's a power than makes you better for each teammate you let die. Or alternately is completely useless until someone dies.
I would point out this is only your opinion. And there is precedent for such powers existing in support sets - Radiation Emission has Fallout, which I personally love using. And both that set and this one have a rez to fire off immediately after and get the teammate who died back in the fight.
  12. Rage I think would be 'FX in pvp only' like most of those toggles are, rather than no fx outright. For the same reason as for the toggles, knowing what effects someone has active by their distinctive animations or whatever. Still, same thing for those of us who don't pvp much.
  13. The only problem I have with afterburner is that you spend three power picks and multiple enhancement slots just to get the same speed that SS, SJ or even teleport have with just one power pick and no enhancements beyond the default slot. And not even that, but in the same patch it's added there's a buyable power that comes with that built in. (Seriously, have a look - the rocket board has the same flight speed increase as unenhanced afterburner.)

It just seems a bit silly to me, why couldn't they just have made basic flight be faster to start with rather than having to take a whole extra power for it? Then we could've gotten a tier 5 power that's useful as more than just a mule for another LotG global.
  14. As far as I know, the large address aware thing also works on a 64 bit system, if you're using it on a 32 bit program - which CoH is, as far as I know. So it might be worth trying if you're on a 64 bit system with more than 4gb of ram as well.
  15. What I think they should do with Kheldians is add another function to their inherent that works similar to how vigilance does with defenders. Give them a buff equal to say, two teammates of each type when soloing. Then have that decrease for team size, same as vigilance does. It'd give them something to fill in that buff value they're balanced around which currently is a gaping hole while not on a team. But at the same time it wouldn't overpower them on teams.
  16. Yeah, the only revamp ice armor needs is a graphical one.
  17. Really there should be toxic defense, I always thought that was something of an oversight. I like the idea of a blast set that's more about the secondary effects than the damage, though. Perfect for the people who just want to do the support thing. Though enough debuffs and the low damage wouldn't matter, there's a very fine line there.

  19. Hi. As the title says, every now and then I'm getting really weird slowdowns. As in, my framerate drops to less than 10 and stays there (It's usually 30+ even in missions) Aside from that the game runs fine, just.... really really slowly. And it persists through restarting the game and all, the only way I've found to fix it is restarting the computer entirely.

Usually happens when the game starts up though on one occasion it happened while I was playing, and usually if I've been using the computer all day beforehand. Especially it seems to happen more often if I've been watching movies or tv shows beforehand. But it only seems to happen with CoH - I can quit after it happens and start something up another game and that'll run fine.

Anyone have any ideas? The fact that it only seems to happen when I've been using the computer for a while would suggest memory leak to me, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was something else.

    Archery Overhaul

Came here to post the 'customisable arrows' bit, but Sam beat me to it. So, I second that motion. Want me some light/fire/ice/whatever arrows rather than the stock metal ones we have now that make no sense I think every character I have with archery.
  21. Something no one's mentioned yet: There is an actual Time Lord badge in the game - it's an accolade for getting the Chrononaut and Cimeroran badges for logging off in Ouroboros and Cimerora respectively.
  22. Pretty much everything does, I think. The only exceptions being the purely metal bits like the shoulder pads.
  23. Personally I still enjoy challenging said 'too badass to talk to you' characters to arena fights and watching them produce increasingly hilarious excuses as to why they can't possibly take the chance of me actually beating them. And a small chance it is, too, I never was good at pvp.

Also: Most of my characters have a note saying 'walkups encouraged' in their bio for a reason. Those that don't are just cause I haven't gotten around to changing it.
  24. Personally, I could see myself taking a power from such a pool on some characters just to be able to instantly die on demand for RP purposes without relying on self destruct for it.
