Rage: No FX Option
I'm not sure why it doesn't have such an option and I'm sure I, and others, asked and suggested for such an option when power customization was introduced, but yeah... Pretty please!?
I don't know if there is some technical reason why Rage does not have the No FX option... but, if there is, I'd like to suggest working out that technical hurdle and enabling a No FX option for it, thank you very much.

This needs to be extended to all of Super Strength, all of Martial Arts and all of Street Justice, just to name a few.
OK, one caveat - I still want to see the hit effects on the actual enemies, but I want to get rid of the disco ball lights on Martial Arts, the breaking wind on Street Justice and the "power glows" on Super Strength. We can already do this for representative toggles, so why not representative attack sets?
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

Just my opinions on the matter!
Add in the blue ghostly character effect on Dual Pistols (among many other things in this game, I'm sure).

Yeah, me too! I've always felt this way. I don't know why the standard is to include such things, but... I feel like the character animations and more "realistic" (so to speak) effects are much more awesome/impressive than flashy glowy video game strangeness!

To be fair, I still believe that all powers should have graphics of some sort, but that we should have an option to disable them where graphics represent inherently non-visual aspects like speed, toughness and strength.
|
I was only saying that my taste falls firmly in the area of not liking bright lights and/or squiggly energy stuff to represent super-strength/fighting impacts.
Of course, providing such visual additions also adds other conceptual possibilities for the user, so I'm not against it, so long as it doesn't remove the ability to not have it (Yes, I'm speaking backwards from the situation we were given, hehe... In which I say, "fine, fine, keep it, just give me the option to remove/hide it!").
Anyway... between the two of us, we could turn Variant's concise suggestion thread into a multi-novel series about video game visualizations, customization and conceptualization... and other stuff... If we're not careful!
So, I am backing away...

Well, let's put it simply, then: Continue making sets with glowing auras as an Original option, but also include a NoFX option where said Original aura is a metaphorical representation and not a physical manifestation. Sound about right?

...
With a quick addendum to please feel free to add NO FX options for existing sets (that have metaphorical representations)!

For all these 'natural' applicable sets, it would be NICE to have a natural looking option...
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

How i GLOW when i build up I'll never know.
Rage I think would be 'FX in pvp only' like most of those toggles are, rather than no fx outright. For the same reason as for the toggles, knowing what effects someone has active by their distinctive animations or whatever. Still, same thing for those of us who don't pvp much.

I want to suggest giving Rage the option to have no FX.
