Quote:Under the new system, it would be +0, +0, +1, +1, +2 for the level adjust for old settings no. 1-5, not sure how many more people thoughSo option (a) count us as a 3 person team because my virtual size of 3 is more than the real size of 2. That is what I assumed it was but I could easily see any of the other options working as well.
Thanks Ender.
Has anyone come up with settings that correspond to the old system?
I'm thinking (assuming a lot) that they would look something like...
1 - +0/1/no bosses/no av
2 - +0/+1 or +2 over real team size is/bosses/no av
3 - +1/1/bosses/no av)
4 - +1/+1 or +2 over real team size/bosses/no av
5 = +2/1/bosses/av -
SwellGuy - Use search and, in the "Search Tags" field, "Test Server" and "Install".
Tagged it with those a while back, usually last post in the search results. -
Quote:Best way to verify, I think, would be to copy the character over to test and check to see if the Surgeon vs. Normal tailor works there if you do not go to the actual costume screen. To elaborate on the header: I have costume designs from very early issues, and some of them contain costume pieces that either are no longer available or can't be selected for some reason at the tailor, an example would be the "glowing eyes" face.
Now I haven't touched those slots for sentimental reasons even when tempted with the "retouch" bug with new costume sets on following issues. However, powerset customization makes it too good to pass up. Will I be forced to lose/redesign my old costumes if i hit "accept" when the changes were ONLY to the powers? -
Run big teams, if you can. Xp and Inf both benefit from the teaming bonus, to be honest.
Also, what kind of corruptor are you? -
Quote:*hides the Voodoo doll behind his back*Bad luck streaks don't last all the way through beta and follow you to live.
I agree, Bill!
I think most of the people having issues with bad drops had the system set to spawn larger teams, especially 8.
AV's have nothing to do with what kind of recipe is dropped, either.Quote:I ran two Master 5th Column TFs and did not recieve any rare recipes.
I two Master of Imperious TFs and did not recieve any rare recipes.
I RAN THE MASTER OF STATESMAN TF AND DIDNT RECIEVE ANY RECIPES!!!!
I know master has nothing to do with it, but those were the types I ran. And thats a lot of AVs.
This isn't working, I think it's bugged. Can any redname give a heads up on this? Is it working as intended?
And what Synapse said, I thought, was that they, the developers, had made no [purposeful, deliberate] change to the drop rates, and was going to check the system?
Quote:The devs aren't against farming; they're against using exploits.
At no point during closed or open beta was there any mention by any dev specifically of drop rates in connection with setting multi-person spawns within missions as part of your difficulty level. And I'd like to think that our devs aren't so stupid as to completely forget to mention something important like drops not scaling with spawn size being intentional, namely because of the sort of outrage we're seeing now. -

Another reason for Warshades to not like CoT, looks like.

Quote:Ignore them as a spammer, and petition them for harassment and stalking, if this ever happens again. One time I had a high level guy send one of my lowbie characters an SG invite. I declined, so the dude followed me around spamming SG invites and killing any mob that I tried to fight. I had to log off and log back on as a different character to keep playing.

Quote:It would be nice if the end-of-mission stuff would work, but the Forms supressing auto-powers is standard, as I recall. Only click buffs carry over.Day jobs don't work for Kheldians while in Nova or Dwarf form. At all. I have 2 kheldian characters and couldn't find a single day job between them that still worked while in forms. Even the auto-powers and end-of-mission bonuses stop working.
This bug may pre-date I16, since I recall seeing it before. -
You should get the Mez protection benefit, but nothing else - that's how I recall it too, for the same reason.

Quote:Actually, while the files are not modified, the client IS, while you use it.This point can be argued extensively. Specifically, the map patches/etc. do not actually modify the game's executable, nor any of its data files. What they do is place specifically named files in a specific location such that the game will read them in preference to the normal data. It is easy to argue that this is not a client modification, but rather an undocumented feature of the game. And that distinction is enough to make any attempt at prosecution not worthwhile, anyway.
Now, if there were a game mod that actually altered the .exe or the .piggs, that would be a different story entirely. -
I think the trick was to rename the cohupdater to cohupdaterold or something, and delete the checksum file, then run the updater with it's new name

Before it can be imported to the game, it must be exported from it's "Project File" state to a usable format - if I am not mistaken.
Photo-Shop, for example, defaults to saving it's files in .psd, as I recall. A format only it uses and not viewable in most programs. It's used, though, to save things like massive layer info, etc. To have your Photo-shopped image viewable elsewhere, you export it to another format (.GIF, JPG/JPEG, TIFF, PNG, etc). -
Quote:Initial Recharge... would that be All Recharged, like now, or be all powers set to be recharging as if you had just used every single one?The only way I would be ok with build switching without visiting an NPC would be:
- Set Player Health 1
- Set Player Max Regeneration 0, duration 60 seconds.
- Set Player Max Endurance 0, duration 60 seconds.
- Set all powers state to Initial Recharge.
- Wipe all Buffs/Debuff on character.
In other words, we do NOT want players to be able to situationally change power selections. -
What's next, you are going to tell me that boards.cityofheroes.com and boards.cityofvillains.com are the same website? I hope not, would cut my browsing in half...
-
Careful, you might end up M.Y.T.H. INC in Action... ( I need to re-read that series, it was fun. And the fact that the first book's title is the result of a typo is ironic! [Another Fine Myth was originally Another Fine Miss, but the publisher missed that...])
If you create the character there, then make a novel about them... it's a derivative work.Quote:Which is entirely irrelevant to my point.
The rights you are granting to them apply to "Member Content", which is "things you put in the game". Which means that if you, say, write a novel about your CoH character, NCSoft doesn't own it, unless you type all of the novel into the Architect.
On the other hand, if NCSoft writes a CoH novel and puts your character in it, you can't demand they give you money or ask them to take your character out, either.
Not totally sure how the EULA works with characters created beforehand and then in City of Heroes - but writing a novel about your City of Heroes/Villains character would definitely invoke the Derivative Works point of IP law, at least in the USA. -
Added a redirect from Power Supression, should help.
Clicky buffs are never supressed.Quote:Alright, I have some more questions because it's not completely clear to me. The example on wiki says:
Is this saying that anyone who is mezzed stops getting all buffs from all sources except for mez protection for the duration of the mez? Are clicky powers like the FF shields suppressed when mezzed?
Let's say I'm in the defender's dispersion bubble and I get hit with a sleep, but the defender's fine. Am I still getting the defense bonus? If not, how does me getting hit with sleep remove the benefit of someone else's toggle?
Something about this just doesn't seem right...
Due to how the power system is set up, all toggle power benefits other than mez protection and resistance have a "Suppress if player is mezzed" line. This means all toggle buffs will not benefit the player, irregardless of the source. -
I sill demand a healing arrow, but the way I want it, I doubt it will ever get in. Minor-to-moderate damage first, then the heal... After all, I did just shoot you with a stick!

Quote:Ya same here i hope they will fix it soon grrr hehe how much time it take when they see players talking about major bug in forum???
Give them a break.
It's about 5AM Pacific time in the US. Which is where the developers are. As of the OP's post it was about 1:30AM Pacific.
If you can't get on because of this issue, I say post here, and report your own post to make the mods see it. -
They seem to be doing a patern - Tech, Magic, Science... that would leave Natural, then Mutant.
Which wouldn't really help anything. It would require a bunch of powers re balancing, coding changes, etc... and all to, at best, temporarily pick up players' attention -
Quote:On the badge thing , did you check to see if it fixed itself after either zoning or logging? WHen that happens to me, either of those usually fixes it.I logged in as my level 50 MM to see what badges he got now that some of the requirements have changed. He got Hero Slayer, the last badge he needed for the Force of Nature Accolade. The Accolade and Accolade Power were awarded, but the progress bar for Force of Nature didn't update and says he only has 6 out of 7 of the required badges. I did not /bug it last night, but I will when I play later.
I'm not sure if this is an I16 bug or not, but I never saw it before, so here it is: I was playing as my 39 Scrapper running a CoT mish on one of the CoT maps with those portals you have to walk through to get to more of the map. When walking through one of the portals I was transported halfway across the map instead of to the one on the other side of the wall like normal. Every time I walked through one, it took me to a random portal somewhere on the map and, of course, they never took me to where I needed to go. Believe it or not, walking backwards through the portals instead of forwards seemed to fix the problem, but it was quite annoying. Again, I didn't /bug it yet, but I'm going to test it a bit more when I play later before officially reporting it.
And not sure if the CoT Random Access Portal bit is a bug or not - some maps have had it forever (as in launch). -
Because the farms fill up the listings.
Because getting insulted for being upset that you were invited to a farm team after specifically saying "Looking for Non-farm AE mission team" with "Stupid n00b, it's AE, of course it's a farm" is irritating.
And listening to people whine they got smacked for their farm mission when it's blatantly against the rules is irritating too.

check the history of that page and notice they're exactly the same
