Quote:Edited my post - I know that many glowies used to have XP. Now, the only one I know of is that canned foods & other supplies "find crate XXX" mission with council new heroes can get.The devs removed the XP from the glowies way, WAY back, but the rumor has persisted, even to this day.
Quote:I also know they've done things like eliminated experience from spawns, such as from the Circle demon portals and the Rikti Communication Officer portals, specifically to prevent farming. They've also nerfed experience from various things (the Krakens come to mind) to prevent farming of high-value enemies. And, of course, don't forget how they removed a crapton of badges from a live build to prevent AE farming. Occasionally, they even take actions that aren't negative, actions that make obtaining farmed rewards significantly easier to effectively do away with farming, such as the substantial reduction--orders of magnitude, in fact--in requirements for healing badges and the Rikti Monkey badge (Zookepper).
2) The healing badge changed was more of a "okay, we'll fix out mistake" as that one was a decimal error. Zookeeper was a nice change though.
And I want my "I pushed the [Red?] Button" badge back!
Quote:P.S. To add my own, I'd say that granting Invisibility to a tanker affects his or her taunting ability. I've had tankers cuss me out over this, thinking that it somehow affected their ability to hold aggro. I tried explaining that once they hit something, the aggro kicks in, invisible or not, and that all invisibility does at that point is grant a defense bonus.
Quote:And on the subject of Vengeance stacking. Yes it does. All it takes is one x8 Nemesis mission to confirm that one. When all their attacks start looking like they are autohitting through Elude and a couple of purples, and they all seem to be shooting out of a PFF bubble, it'll become painfully obvious. -
Quote:Which is fine, because instead of it being buffed damage, dominators simply have higher base damageThere used to be a major damage buff as well, but since the aforementioned Dominator revamp, there's less of a difference between damage in and out of Domination.

And most of us are way to cool for pants; kilts just are not that well accepted.
Exception : It is not coolness that keeps the Hickman pants-less. -
Quote:I'll address the first one later, but on the second point - Knock-up IS NOT weak knock-back. Knock-up is it's own "mez", separate from Knock-back and it's weak form Knockdown. A KU power slotted for knock (with the knockback enhancement, admittedly) will send them HIGHER. Like, Mary Poppins "Let's go fly a kite" high (So fun!) if you go that far.
- Dark Armor sucks: well, only if you try to tank like an Invuln or a Stone.
- Such and such attack does too much knockback: in the current revision of the game the knock-around effects are all centered on a magnitude scale of the same power effect. This means that knockup / knockdown powers on opponents weak to knockback will generate knockback. This couples in with the perception phenomenon. Players remember the times that an enemy critter went flying backwards instead of the times the enemy just flopped over or bounced straight up.
KU is a lot rarer than KB/KD, however.
Quote:Pull Shadowhunter in the water to lower his regen is one of the best.
Quote:As i understand it, that started out as a deceptive lie to keep others from clicking them because each glowie in that trial use to give an insane amount of XP and inf... so to keep others away and keep them for themselves. Which was remove sometime later, yet the ill informed warnings of such still remain in the player base.
1) You realize he's listing the "lies" - it's truthful that Dark doesn't tank like stone or invuln.
2) He should not of posted that, however, without linking to that video in your sig -

Quote:... That's wrong.IIRC, enemies get a 10% bonus to hit you for every level they are above you. Lieutenants get 5%, and I think it goes 5% more for every rank above, making AVs have roughly +20. So a +4 AV has about a 110% ToHit a level 50 hero. If you only have 45% Def ("Softcap") they'll still have a 65% chance to hit you- roughly the same chance an elite boss has to hit a same level hero.
More def is still effective, you just need that much more of it.
Most times, this means relying on your team. If you get to about 75% Def, you're doing OK for almost anything the game throws at you.
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Attack_Mechanics
No creature gets a rank-based to-hit buff.
Accuracy, yes.
If you are at the soft cap, vs a +4 AV, it's (50[base]-45[your defense])%tohit, then you multiple by accuracy (2.1=1 [most power's base accuracy] * 1.4 [+4 level difference] * 1.5 [Rank bonus). So it's 10.5% min. to-hit chance against a soft-capped player for a +4AV
And for level differences, it isn't until they are +6 or more that they start getting a To-hit buff for level. -
I wouldn't call the iPod a PC, nor the iPad.
A mac, yes. -
Quote:Thing is, each one there is nothing special about their rewards (that's why if you are 30, and hit Lauren before Serge, the unlocked costume is in the 2nd slot, not the 3rd). The costume slots themselves have no level restrictions - mere the min. level that the contact will talk to you which is different. Aura's and Capes are unique, however.
This is where the possible bug is. Now I figured that either the contact would tell me that I already did their mission or give me the mission and not grant the reward because I already had the reward for that level. This was not the case as both Lauren and Glenda unlocked new costume slots for me by completing their missions.
Plus, the City Rep represents Paragon - why would she deal with villains? -
Quote:Actually, this is a different issue. Decieve, confuse, and Mass confusion, last I checked, were all flagged to NOT alert npcs. Which stalker powers are. This is a problem that is similarly linked to stalker problems, and before Castle left he stated it would take time, and there is no easy fix. Even if you are in invisibility, and deceive wears off the target deceived will come to attack you. It is very iffy if the other mobs in a group come attack, but I suppose invisibility helps with it somewhat. My best advice is to keep the target Deceived with another application as it applies fairly quickly.
Unless the poster has a proc, as procs have thier own alert flags. -
Quote:Its the melée counterpart to "SR is bad for brutes" from peoe who thing fury needs things to hit to generate."Dark Armor is a bad Brute secondary because the -ToHit reduces Fury generation."
(There are other arguments re: Fury generation which are less cut-and-dry, but this one is just plain wrong.)
Quote:- "The easiest archetype for a new player to start off with is a Scrapper."
After 6 years, I still have no Scrappers in my characters roster. The last serious attempt at one was maybe 4 years ago and I gave up at the low teens. I will note that I do have 3 Brutes and a couple of Tanks.
fixed -
From what I recall of how it is now, the only to-hit check is for the initial damage as it's no longer a real patch power. So the dot is just for those hit initially.

Quote:I don't know wether to be scared or not. Someone who can be in CS in the same job for that long... scares me.Huh, hope this is the same GM Lloyd that's been working here forever. I rarely remember GM names but I DO remember Lloyd specifically as being awesome.
But he's also been t2 or above for most of it, from what I've noticed, so maybe that help insulate. That and you only have to watch what you type, not your tone of voice or facial expressions. -
And here n00b is those who won't learn.
You'd be a newb, not a n00b. -
Quote:Big thing about leet speak was the intent to hide the words you were using, usually from text filters. Thanks for clearing that up. I don't get leet, so I do not bother..sometimes I might put in an im shortcut occasionally tho
And while the first TV I remember had a remote (that docked into the molding), it was also (IIRC) one where the first 13 or so channels had individual tuning wheels in the control panel (and contrast, brightness, etc, were all knobs).
I remember the VCR and the NES both had different tunings on channel 3.
Or maybe it was channel 3 and the NES... *shrug* -

Quote:Like I said - it was sad that that I died to a sapper. Was that a really long time ago? Dark Armor has resisted drain for quite a while now. And these days if its just one you can probably brawl them to death even fully drained.
From what I recall, it was a bad spot, might of actually snagged two sappers - Malta in Orenbenga mission - and they ended up being the last ones I nailed the coffin shut on. Was out of Breakfrees, was pre-combining, and the only attacks landing were the sap and the stun. -
Quote:No, it's just to just-outside-melee range, usually.First post in the forums. Just got the trial and am enjoying it so far.
I do have one question concerning controls. In other games, there was an option to have your player auto-run to within the range of your attack so you weren't required to always be nudging into range. Is there an option in this similar to that? I looked in the controls area and couldn't find anything except for auto-run or "F". This kind of works, but always seems to bring me in really really close for a brawl attack. But if I'm trying to use my whip which has a longer range, I'd like to just have it auto-range me to the target.
Any tips would be great. Thanks! -
I'd check that list above, but IIRC, your ATI 3100 would be the previous numbering scheme (which ended in the 9000 range), and HD is the new one, restarted at 1000 range.

The only things unique to a given build (besides power choices/slotting) is the enhancements slotted into the builds.

No biggie. Even if someone left and only now came back, a pre-existing account represent time, among other things.

Quote:So it's melee. Good to know. It was still sad my /Dark Armor scrapper dying to a (by that point) lone sapper though. They have a melee stun, but their ranged attacks are endurance-draining and recovery debuffing, not mezzing. Which is just as lethal in many respects, if not moreso, to melee archetypes without drain protection than it is to squishies.
Protip: Performance Shifter +End is not technically endurance recovery.
