...since when do heroes work for Longbow? The only references to it in the regular CoH contact missions I can think of are the clash with Vanguard and a brainwashed field trainer in one Indigo's mission.

Since ranged and TAoEs share all the same enhancement properties, I don't see why the two categories couldn't be merged. SCR notwithstanding, it sounds like less work than implementing new IO sets from scratch. Hell, you could do the same with control/buff/debuff sets; it wouldn't be without precedent, since control-enhancing Hami-Os enhance all control effects of the power they're slotted in.

What I find fascinating about these kinds of threads is that among all the shouting how PvP is broken and how things need to go back to way they were, I've yet to find a single argument as to why it's considered broken {other than the obvious, of course}.

First off, points for the self-promotion - without someone drawing attention to it, any given arc will sink among bajillion others and a constant stream of feedback from those intrigued enough to play it is key to improvement.
That said, you seem to be in the wrong forum - there's a specific one for Architect Entertainment, so you're likely to find a more receptive audience there. Also, you might want to form your own troubleshooting teams and see how things go firsthand. You say the arc is difficult to solo - that's also usually a minus, since there's still a large chunk of full and part-time soloers, so you're automatically alienating a part of your audience. -
I concur. Both Hami and Muthaship raids rely heavily on the number of participants, so anyone in the zone who is not participating in a raid {usually by doing something unrelated, but perfectly legitimate} is just by their presence making things more difficult for the raid teams. Increasing RWZ's maximum capacity would help significantly with this problem.

Not sure how simple skipping back and forth would be in demoplay, what with the way demos are recorded. Would be nice, though.

Oh, so it's registering a double-click when you actually only click once?
Hmm. Sounds like some sort of accessibility assistance, but I can't find anything relating to it in the Accessibility options. -
Quote:I usually go around that by searching for a Lv50 in Pocket D and ask them nicely if they could sidekick me for a while. The low level "defeat ten Circle of Thorns in Perez" mission; no, I don't want to fight large CoT spawns with Madness Mage bosses and me with no mezz protection yet.
The endless hunt missions heroside in the 20-24 level range. Individually most aren't so bad, but there are so many of them.
Nothing speeds up outdoor hunts like several dozen levels' advantage over your victims. -
Quinch: A pair of rocket boots he swiped from a downed super before they hosported. Flight and superspeed, and he has no idea how exactly they work. Like the cat, they always come back whenever he tries to get rid of them, with similar destruction to his other footwear in their wake.
Mender Quinch: Short-range subordination of local medicom nodes.
Quinch Ballistic {Praetorian}: Got a pair of "wings" from Neuron as a "reward" for rescuing IVy. The wings themselves are actually a pair of stabilizers for the back-mounted antigravity unit, but were thrown away due to their power consumption. Also, they're unfixably lime-and-pink, continuing the tradition of embarrassing modes of transportation for the character.
Marty Faversham: Magic bunny, with parrot-like wings. Rocket engineering, it ain't.
Ambient Light: Kheldian. Came bundled. -
I'm aware that demoplay is likely so low on the list of priorities that it might as well be on {or under} the opposing hemisphere, but...
Would it be possible to implement the ability to reload the demofile without restarting the client? Having to do so whenever the editor wants to make even the slightest change to the script severely hinders any attempts at making machinima beyond simple recordings.
As for the benefits - the attention from well-made CoH videos is often fairly big, and giving an already creative playerbase additional tools to express that creativity can only increase the exposure to the game itself. There's no guarantee, of course, but it might bear consideration that one of those editors might create something viral, bringing in more interested players. It has all the cost-prospect of a lottery, of course, but if the resource investment is low enough to justify it, why not? -

Heh. I remember this one custom map, I think it was called Chinese Box, where you started in a small cubic chamber with a small cube simply consisting of six doors in its middle - except each of those doors led to its own {hyperspatial?} network of tunnels. I have to admit, though, trying to find my way around most Descent levels was frequently frustrating. -
Quote:I dunno, I'd feel pretty motivated about beating them into the ground.Well, giving them varying dialog is fine. Not sure about leaving it up to roleplayers, or every boss text would be like:
Princess Azure Skylark Dragonqueen blinks her giant purple eyes at you. You can't help but be captivated by their perfect combination of innocence and mischief. She whispers sweetly in her musical voice "Please don't arrest me. It's not my fault, I was abandoned by my father Statesman and my mother Lady Grey at a young age where I was taken in and trained as a ninja assassin by Lord Recluse himself. But I was "abused" by the vile Doctor Aeon. Only then did I discover that I was truly one of the Fey, royal daughter of the Dragon-kin who sent me to earth to protect me from the evil Lord Shadowfiend. As heir to the lands of the Fey, Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, I have to keep my lineage a secret as I pretend to be a villain while fighting for the freedom of my true people." -
Wait, what's the actual problem? That double-clicks don't register? If that's the case, go to Start->Control Panel->Mouse and check your double-click settings. Maybe it's set really low, making it necessary to click very fast for the double-click to register.

To be fair, I've seen a Lv35 in Praetoria.
-
Basically, when you hit Lv20, you get the option to move to either the Isles or Paragon. At that point you'll also stop receiving new contacts.

While putzing around with my window layout, I noticed a "LFG" window in the window list. Curious, I pulled it up and got... this.
Anyone know how long this has been here? I'm guessing it doesn't do anything - yet, anyway {first time I pulled it up, a few days ago, the button said "UnableToJoinQueue" or something along those lines}. Initially I thought it was some kind of auto-teaming mechanism, but clicking the "Join Queue" button returns a " No missions found that can be joined by all team members", which is a little... confusing.
What's the deal? Another example of halfassed feature implementation? A work in progress? Devs taunting us? Anyone have an idea? -
I've been getting a remarkable number of drops my teams recently - moreso than usual, even. I'm not sure why - most of them leave suddenly and without a comment. Sometimes in the middle of a fight, and half of them vanish without a quit message in the window, but never call back for a reinvite later.
It's an oddity. Thankfully, finding replacements is usually a breeze. -
There's no way to get an extra costume slot or a cape in Praetoria - however, once you leave it, talk to Kalinda/Burke or the Atlas Park town rep to get your cape and Serge/Facemaker/Whatsherface for the extra costume slots.
-
I see it as a subset of a much larger problem - that almost all mission dialogue is leader-centric. Unless you're the team leader, you can't read the clues, debriefings, and so on. Unfortunately, fixing that would probably take an update to the UI, so I doubt it'll ever happen.

Quote:And that is my sole motivation. The Resistance, neither the Crusaders or the Wardens, have no long-term plans. The populace rebels... and then what? If Cole comes to the conclusion that there is no longer a way for him to control those under his rule, do you think the man who let Rome, and who knows how many other cities be overrun by Hamidon for the sake of PR advantage would really go peacefully? If what we've evidenced and been related to by witnesses is any indication, it's far more likely that he'd destroy Praetoria himself in a childish hissy fit. That's why the only thing that can be done is to keep Resistance and Cole at each other's throat and preventing them from establishing total control until someone comes along to deal with both Cole and the Crusaders.I note that if Cole actually wants to kill everyone in Praetoria, if that is his sole and explicit aim, then he's got a really weird way of going about it. I mean, he can go switch off the sonic fence if he wants to, or just start beating people to death with his bare hands. He is the sole Incarnate of Praetoria; he can survive nuclear weapons and the Hamidon; who's going to stop him?
We agree there. You may not use such logic that would show otherwise.
