Extra Costume Slots for Going Rogue

I recently reached 20th level with my Praetorian character only to find out that there is no way to get extra costume slots or even Cape missions. Is this to come in a future instalment? Or am I just missing the people that give the missions? Look forward to any responses

There's no way to get an extra costume slot or a cape in Praetoria - however, once you leave it, talk to Kalinda/Burke or the Atlas Park town rep to get your cape and Serge/Facemaker/Whatsherface for the extra costume slots.

People don't change clothes in Praetoria, the fabrics in that dimension are super stain resistant.

(Hopefully when they add levels to the zone they'll upgrade the Tailor as well to offer a level 20 slot, but I don't remember reading anything promising specific changes)

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

Yeah I think I'd just consider this a "before I19 happened" problem.

The Devs have told us they're going to allow Primals to travel to Praetoria in I19. The assumption based on that is that characters will eventually be free to travel back-n-forth between the two worlds. We might still have to be at least level 20 to do that, but that's not much of a problem all things considered.

My *guess* is that even after they extend the level, their tailors still won't offer costume slot missions or capes. Praetorians will still be forced to "choose a side" at 20th and even if they are able to freely move back and forth, they'll be going to Paragon or the Rogue Isles for their capes and slots.

But I have absolutely nothing to base that on other than the mechanics of how that stuff works now.

I'm really hoping we will be able to Trick or Treat in Praetoria and also be able to turn in costume salvage. Quite disliking not being able to have the additional slot.

Enjoy your day please.

You go to leave Preatoria and either go to Rogue Island or Paragon City.

I wasn't aware I could leave Praetoria to the Isles or Paragon lol :S I've already immigrated a couple villians to Paragon so know how that's done but how does a resident of Praetoria leave? I'll be strapping a rocket to my butt and flying to Paragon lol

Basically, when you hit Lv20, you get the option to move to either the Isles or Paragon. At that point you'll also stop receiving new contacts.

It's not so much of 'could leave' as it is of being kicked out. Once you hit 20 you get a popup from I believe Marchand for loyalists, and Sheridan for Resistance. Hit 21 and you can no longer access content from contacts you haven't already started. Unless you want to exemp down for the next 30 levels your only option is to go Primal.

But the only thing supporting that character is teaming and exemping to the team's level. The game provides no incentive to remain in Praetoria. Until the content in Praetoria is expanded there is no reason to add a costume mission to the tailor there. A halloween salvage contact, however, should be added.

Well also to be fair I knew somebody who had a level 19 character with around 600 badges a couple of years ago. If you know anything about badges in this game you'd realize that a level 19 character with 600 badges a couple of years ago was just about as tediously difficult as it would likely be to have a level 35 Praetorian today.

Never underestimate people experimenting with "special projects" like that. If a player can't wait for future Issues to properly handle the high level Praetorian problem then that's their deal, not the game's.

Actually... the 35 praetorian would be easier :P

Yeah you're probably right. The main point I was trying to make is that even though there are people out there who are willing to "bend" the limits of this game doesn't mean the game has to cater to those people. Until the game is "designed" for post level 20 characters in Praetoria there's no pressing need to give characters like that all the bells and whistles.

Don't forget about leveling pacts as a way for Praetorians to gain xp without much effort. Send one person out to Primal Earth to grind out [essentially] 60 levels and the Praetorian wouldn't even have have to login, let alone leave the dimension to ding 50.

I'm not sure how I would feel about ToT'ing in Praetoria. On one hand, yes, the costume piece references would very much be "lost" on that utopian population. On the other hand, with Going Rogue acting as CoH's new best foot forward to new players, wouldn't they want to show off a holiday event in their shiny new world??

Once again I never denied there were various ways to trick-up a level 50 Praetorian today. But by the same token I don't think the Devs are strictly required to cater to them until there's content ready for them either. Every indication we've gotten is that there will be much more expanded content for Praetoria in I19, even if that just means (as a bare minimum) there will be an easy means for characters to travel back and forth between Primal Earth and Praetoria.

When both CoH and CoV first launched they only allowed characters from level 1-40 to play in them until Issue 1 and Issue 7 respectively added their level 40-50 content. I see nothing wrong with the idea that it's going to take another Issue (in this case Issue 19) before more high end Going Rogue content/support is added to the game.

The way I see it we should be happy that we can even fudge level 50 Praetorians now if you really want to. We should consider it a "sneak peak" to the content that's yet to come.

There are two ways to level in Praetoria. 1) XP Leveling Pact with a character before you hit level 6, or 2) Teaming.

Past level 24 that's pretty much the only way.

I have a level 37 Illusion/Empath still in Praetoria on Virtue that is XP bonded to a character in CoH and still team.

Oh come now... surely someone has hit 50 in praetoria by now. That's gotta be on someone's "must do before anyone else does" list.

I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.

Throughout the history of this game (and probably all MMOs) there's always been at least a few people who like to sprint to a level cap just to be able to say they were "first" to do it. I remember when both CoH and CoV first started (and when the level caps of those two respectively went from 40 to 50) there was usually always someone around who'd claim they got to the cap within 24 to 48 hours after whatever it was went live.

By that same reasoning I'm sure the first 50s in Praetoria happened within the first few days of the launch of Going Rogue.

I'll see your "back in the day" and top it with when you only had one costume that you could never ever change and capes didn't exist.
