I dont know who is right or wrong, but what i do know is i saw the movie about 2 weeks after release and the scenes in question were not in the movie.

But also keep in mind that we countless star wars specials and making ofs started showing up I did see some of these things like biggs and luke watching the space batter. As well as sources like the collector cards i think took images from everywhere. I guess my main point would be if these scenes were in a finished movie, and then latter cut out, why exactly would none of them have cinematic finishing. In all the cases where i see these "extras" show up none of them have finished effects, none of them have music.... If they were just clipped out of the movie and you all saw them, why wouldnt they appear to be taken from a finished film?

I really do think that over 30+ years we see these things pop up from time to time and then say "Oh i remember that" 10 years later.

Lucas says he chose to cut this scene and another that had luke with friends watching a space battle through the binoculars due to the pacing of the begining of the movie. He felt the scene in the kitchen with uncle owen talking to luke about not leaving for one more season and luke saying how biggs had already left accomplished the same set up as far as progressing the story went.
  3. This isnt happening. All that site did was take the idea of using the money from a 3D project and using it to make the new movies. Which is something some of us here projected was how Lucas worked back in the 90s when he used the special edition ticket sales to make the prequel.

They havent talked to anyone, and of course mention that Lucasfilm says there is no truth to is with the addition of "What would you expect them to say"

Dont hold your breaths. Lucas during the prequels said that doing a set of 3 is like a 10 year commitment and he really didnt feel like still be working on them at 75 years old.
  4. Wasnt a bad episode. Again though i would say they kinda went light on the conflict between clark and the baddy. I know clark isnt going to hurt lois, but i dont see why Isis would have a problem really letting loose on clark when he kept showing up in her way.

I thought i was not gonna like the kid lex story line, but honestly since they seem to refuse to let her die, it is turning out to be something nice for Tess' character to keep her out of the way.

Oh small nit pick i guess, but since when does a major newspaper's mail room have nice stacks of mail mixed with gold confetti sitting around to leap into and spray around at major moments of life revelations? But i guess for smallville if that is my biggest problem with the episode then its a pretty decent week.

Im pretty sure that was in the final episode of the series. Data had added grey streaks to his hair and i think Geordy commented on it. Data responded something of the matter of it was to make people he had known for years more comfortable with him when he had the appearance of aging along with them.

It isnt just the idea of gaming reviews im talking about. What i mean is that NC Soft it seems basicly has said that they didnt want discussion other games on their forums. I would assume because they feel that it is directly or indirectly giving their competition advertising for their products.

If the members of this forum though can start their own sites, and link to them on these forums, and on those pages find discussion of games, reviews, advertising etc. then how is this any diffferent then if we still had threads here about them. For isntance, Shadowrush's site has alot of information about other subjects, and movies and such. But almost everytime ihave gone there and followed a link there is a game of some type being advertised on the banner ads for the subject linked to here. So sure i might be going to see pic of the captian america movie, but im assualted with advertising for WoW when i go their. And advertising that i would assume someone is profiting off of.

Again i am not pointing fingers at you only. I know advertsing is everywhere. But it would seem to me that linking to sites that have a decent stake in discussing other games is just like posting threads here. I can understand saying oh well Superherohype.com is a fan site for many things. And its kinda out of control to say that you cant link to it because one banner ad comes up for a game. But if the site itself has one of itsmajor stakes in reviewing, advertising or discussing game releases, then i fail to see a difference to discussing it here.
  7. This is in no way directed to you personally. But frankly opinions are like *** holes, everyones got one, and now with the internet, everyone thinks you want to see theirs.

Other then that, the site looks nice. But i admit i didnt watch any reviews. Again nothing personal, i would just rather watch a review about the item being reviewed rather then someone trying to sell a personality around the review....say like a Yahtzee, glasses dude etc. Maybe ill check some out later, but overall i pretty much stick to reviews like gamestrailers etc, where there really isnt even a person on screen reviewing the product to ham it up.

Just curious though i was thinking this when that Shadow(whatever his name was) started pimping all his pasted links to his site, exactly how if we cant discuss games on these forums is it ok to post or link to sites that do sell, advertise and discuss other games and have that be ok within these forum rules?

    Isolate Farming?

You know the sadest part really is that with the difficulty/team size slider, an AE PLer doesnt need a team anymore to level his toons. However a sewer group has to spam broadcast for interested parties to join the team.....

Kinda wierd the OPer is having a problem with the first group when the second group is actually all the more present in his zone causing disruption.

This is not a hate towards farming (well just a little), I just want to be in a zone with good players who play the game for fun.
So oh "Make a me a farm free atlas. wait now im level 8, i need a farm free Kings Row.....oh hang on might as well do a farm free steel while your at it ill be there in a couple days..."

Get over yourself. Farming exists it will always exist, just ignore it if you want to play it. God i cant wait until you have to listen to constent tells for ToT teams next week. Between that and 2 weeks of night you probably will be suicidal by the end of the halloween event.

It's all water under the bridge. I'm not sure there's anything at this point worth doing to improve this situation one way or the other. *shrugs*
Oh so you mean i would have to take one of my newbs through my base to peregrine and run one of the 5-6 perfectly balanced farm missions i used before the AE to level them up to 20 in the same amount of time?

I get seriously tired of people blaming the failure of idiots to understand a perfectly simple game on being an AE Baby. There has never been a lack of farming or power leveling options in this game. But there have always been dumb-***** who even when playing a character fail to understand the basic concepts of teamwork and their ATs role on a team. That has nothing to do with PLing.
  11. Though like mentioned pixar seems to be magic at taking what seems to be bad ideas and making them work, even if its good, i might boycott it just on principle its not The Incredibles 2.
  12. What i find funny is that you have people here that think it looks bad, when this is obviously made for a movie rather then the 2d block color of a comic book, where if they actually made everything look like the comic book we would be talking about how the costume was to spandex, and how the movie sold out to take advertising dollars from Coleman to have the battery still looking like their camping lanterns.

Guess im just one of those people that watch the old superman movies and think that the costum looks horrid on screen. Cant please everyone i guess.

That was my exact feelings in watching this tonight.

By far this episode shows alot of promise in moving clark forward. But I have to say we have been here before. We have seen clark take all these steps to try and put his past, his mistakes behind him, to step forward and accept his role. Only for the next episode to simply be more of the same emo-man the series has saddled the character with for 9 years.

If they truely go forward from this point then that is great, and makes this a very solid episode. If he falls back into his funk, then the episode is simply a "what coulda been" that will be easily forgotten.

My only issue honestly is the flight/hovering at the end was just a bit to much peter pan for me. "Think a happy thought" really shouldnt have been how be broke through his power block. More like a 747 is dropping out of the sky should have forced it IMO.

If you think the 5-a-day limit on tips is bad, you should've seen the incarnation of tips during beta. 90-minute cooldown on tip drops. Regardless, slowing you down is their intention because they didn't want people switching too quickly or without a bit of effort.
I dont mind the cool down or the limit to confirming sides to earn the merits, im fine with the 5 fame point limit. Infact i dont really care to run more then 5 of those at a time. However the OPer is right. There is no limitation placed on the use of rewards in any other aspect of the game. So this seems out of place and honestly punishes further those that are using the system for their own gains. If i save up merits from level 30+ with the intention of knowing im going to spend those to slot my toon at 50 with the sets i want, this system essentially means i could take a month or more to use the merits. I can understand the cooldown period fo purples and pvp recipies but for standard IO sets i think it should be removed.

You know i can get behind that pretty easily and its a nice simple solution. I just still think it deserves some explanation in the prime series rather then just being passed off in the SJC. It also leaves it open to the plot points of there being a last doctor because its already been said that if you die before you regenerate then your dead. So a situation could come up that kills the doctor at some point.

Oh hey! Maybe the SGC can ask Galactic President Zaphod Beeblebrox if his buddies at Magrathea can build them a planet with a naquadria core.

So even if they get rid of the dead weight they'll still be forced to constantly rely on the stones, and instead of watching TJ and Chloe stumble thru poorly written stories we'll get to watch some of the other minor characters take their place and stumble thru the poorly written scripts. Maybe it'll be that guy and the cute redhead from the Lucien Alliance. He can take TJ's place and she can sleep with Lt. Loser.
No but if they allowed the portal to work off using the power from the other ship in combination with theirown, then you have now created a situation where from time to time destiny is going to run into these seeder ships giving them the opprotunity to connect to earth. It wouldnt be an at will decision to make a connect but an opprotunistic chance encounter when the seeder ships decide they need to meet back up with destiny to link.

I personally dont care for the whole idea of the stones, i would rather they have a crew that was compitent to begin with. I also dont want to see episodes all the time dealing with needing to find food or water, or eventually having no weapon resources etc. I like seeing conflicts like Young and Rush but i think Camilla's and chloe have run their course and i would like to see them get off the ship. I guess what i feel is like if they solve all the really "gilligan's island" kinda issues with the show then they can concentrate on writing a great show with real stories beyond how they fail to "get off the island" this week.

Get the right people on the Destiny and it turns into nothing more than another version of SG: Atlantis.

The concept of the show isn't flawed, it's the writing that sucks.
Im not saying that you make every single aspect of the mission fixed. What i am saying is that they could have removed alot of the sidelined aspects to the show that we have already gotten tired of or they just feel the need to waste time on fixing.

For instance, Eli isnt really supose to be there, but i wouldnt want to see him leave. TJ though i think has run her course. We already know her and Young have a past and the whole losing the baby thing, frankly i think getting her off the show would have been a good idea.

We sit back and talk about things like the amount of resourced needed to support that many people, how the ammo will hold out, etc, how often they are going to have to fall back on the "Stones" as a means to get someone on destiny that isnt. The problem with the show now isnt IMO that they have the wrong people anymore, or how they deal. They dont make them deal. True interaction and relationships are only going to be able to be shown between so many people. The rest are just baggage. It will become tiresome after awhile to always have to have doctors coming on board via the stones, or xenobilologists etc. So this plot in this episode gave them the ability to not only cut down on some of that, but to give an opening that could have limited use to be able to fix things as they arise.

For instance lets imagine that SyFy leaves this show running for a while like SG1 and actor decide they wish to leave the show. Sure you can kill them off, leave them behind on a ship full of midget aliens to be resolved later. But first how many times can you do that. And second as they get a more solid footing of the purpose of each cast members character what do you do to replace them? Having this type of device open to them helps to possibly solve issues down the road without having to make your audience groan that yet again and again they have to bend rules and find ways around the series own self imposed limitations. Im saying they could have fixed a few issues now, and left themselves an out to use later if needed.

Apparently she is fast enough to have done so without risking anybodies safety or her identity, so it didn't make much sense why she didn't do so. Also, I really hate how they portray the daughters mind reading. It just looks like people mugging for the camera and it detracts from the story.

Other than that, it was ok. Not great, but I'll keep watching to see how things develop.
I was wondering after the first show if she actually can interact with people when she is speeding.

By that, in the pilot when they are at the race track and she is testing her limits, her assistant starts rattling off questions. They ranged to things like her metobolism to wondering why her clothes didnt tear off her at her speeds. And theorized that when using her powers she was surounded by some type of field that protected her. I wonder if rather then have every solution be "mom speeds in and rounds up the bad buys before they can react" if they will put some limits on her like they did with the dads invulnerabilty and have the field around her repusle objects or something when speeding.

    Dr.Who news....

I agree, and im a relatively new convert to the series. But it does seem like for as long as this lore has been around the 12 regen limit has been in place. And yes you knew it was going to get delt with they wouldnt just end the series.

But to my understanding there were already timelords that had regenerated past 12 lives, like rassilon if i am not mistaken wasnt he considered immortal?

So they opened the door to extended regenerations being possible, i really think they should have delt with the issue in the show and given it a good storyline. I think changing something this dramatic and deeply inbeded in the show and character deserves more then a passing one liner in a spin off series that doesnt explain anything.
  20. Honestly the most disapointing thing about this last episode was that they had created the perfect golden opprotunity to "fix" the show and passed it by.

This could have allowed them to off load the wasted meat of the passengers that dont need to be there, and bring on people actually skilled to do the jobs they need. As well as to get rid of the dead weight from the lucians, since it looks like only 1-2 of them are really going to have a plot point of being there at all anyway.

It would have allowed them to get more supplies and machines so were not always counting bullets I mean seriously at the end of this episode they could have had destiny really ready to have been the research experiment it was ment to be and brought on new casts, ditched the idiots like Chloe and the Mulan chick. Sent home the girl friends like TJ that are just going to be whinny characters now. Gotten real doctors on board, real soldier, real scientist to unlock destiny. And could have had the crew find out that Rush had control of the ship and had unlocked the bridge.

This could have been the jump point to really have made the show something that could continue forward and been more intresting.

Ya but im still going to have to endure the media blitz for the movie. And with what will be an 11 year old in the house that means ill be getting alot of begging to take him to see it im sure.
  22. I am betting that the aliens work on the ship and are peaceful. I am betting that they turned the tables on the power transfer because the seeder ship is their charge not destiny.

And since we know that gates exist on the seeder ship, im betting its not to long before destiny stops, and the aliens help telford get back to destiny via a gate that is on the ship waiting to be seeded to a planet.

Data kinda hit that Wesley Crusher level of making every other character insignificant in the cast. So at the time i honestly felt it was done to dumb down the character a bit and take him more back to where he was at the begining of the show.
