If this were anything but Pixar, I'd call this the stupidest idea ever.

Pixar has so much cred, though, that I'm psyched.

Though like mentioned pixar seems to be magic at taking what seems to be bad ideas and making them work, even if its good, i might boycott it just on principle its not The Incredibles 2.

For a round the world race there has to be a Mach 5 homage somewhere in this movie. A car with buzz saws or jump jacks.

I would love to see an Incredibles 2. I so loved the Incredibles, and the Jack Jack's Attack on the DVD it priceless.

Yes, everyone would but The Incredibles is Brad Bird's baby and until he gets around to do another one or gives Pixar permission to do another one, all we can do is wish. It's just the way Pixar rolls.

This.

I didn't care for the early trailers for a number of their films, but always wound up seeing them and loving them. I have no doubt that I'll be in the theater with my son watching this.

Indeed. If it is that he won't give anyone else permission to continue it, then it will be a while since he is currently working on MI4. Add in the time it takes to actually go through production on an animation film and you are looking at possibly a 4 year time span between now and when it might come out if he went right to that after MI4.

To sidestep into other brief Pixar news, the release of the Cars 2 teaser has confirmed that Lasseter is back to direct. Earlier this year it was announced that he was spending more time up at Pixar rather than Disney Animation because of story problems. That soon turned into a co-director role but it would seem that he has bumped the original director back to co-director.

In the past couple weeks, word has been going around that Brenda Chapman stepped away from Brave and left Pixar. Today brought word that she had indeed stepped down from the director spot on Brave because of creative reasons but she will not be leaving the studio.

I think if Pixar had a motto it would be...

First do no wrong.

Cars didn't have the critical acclaim of some of the other PIXAR films . . . but it is hugely popular with the kids. The merchandise sales are huge. Cars 2 was pretty much a sure thing.

PIXAR has yet to put out a bad film. A few are a little more awesome than the others, but all of them are great movies. Increadibles 2 is planned but it is all up to Brad Bird, according to my friend who is fairly high up in the merchandise area at Disney. They tend to find out aobut the work in progress so that they can plan the merchandise.
