I used it to solo my first AV before I got him slotted out. It halps a lot more than it looks like, and is one of my favorite purchasable temps.
-
Gotcha. So beating 50+ people will get one drop. Seems like there's a good enough reason for those prices now that I realize that.
-
-
Thanks. I was wondering for a while how they worked. Guess I finally have a reason to start doing some pvp.
-
Are they dropped by critters in only PvP zones, given for defeating players in PvP, or just really rare drops that happen to have PvP extra bonuses? I have never receieved one, and I barely do much PvP, but some of the sets look good, and I don't want to spend the billions on them that they sell for currently.

Quote:With my understanding of procs, it would still have a chance to happen per enemy, but it would have a max of one activation per click. So that would be like having a 5% heal every 12 seconds, which isn't all that great. If I am wrong though, and it can in fact proc twice in one click, it may be worth trying.Hey guys, quick question about this proc.
I see that it's got a 10% chance for a 5% heal. At level 50 that's about 50 HP. Normally that would be pretty bad.
On my Mind Controller though, I have an aggroless AoE sleep that recharges in about 12 seconds that can hit up to 16 enemies that I use pretty regularly to catch enemies at the edges of my controls. On average the proc would go off once or twice per group. I also have a single target sleep power I spam as part of my regular attack chain. The proc would go off once in ten casts without me having to stop to heal. With all those chances to proc going off, do you think this IO might be worth trying? They're very cheap (about 10,000 influence) but two whole slots can be a lot. Thoughts on this? -
On note with it doing ~60 dmg with aim/BU/defiance, it will complement blazing aura's damage quite nicely as well. That extra bit every second could mean the difference in time for an angry LT to get off a finishing blow on your squishy blaster.
-
I tried setting up for both, and this is what I got. 27 to s/l and about 29 to melee. Recharge is decent, but nothing to brag about. I had to take off a KB protection IO in tough and in CJ to mae this one work. If anyone wants to tweak it or comment on some helpful changes, please go ahead. Keep in mind I don't plan on spending billions for any purple sets or pvp sets, and It will be a while before I can afford to slot any kinetic combat IOs with their current villain side prices.

I have a lvl 35 SS/Fire brute, and I want to start getting him slotted out. The only problem is that I am still undecided on whether I want to give him a lot of +rech bonuses, or +defense bonuses. I have heard valid arguments for both, saying rech will help with healing flames and with footstomp's KD mitigation. Then there's the idea that a resistance set with ~30 def is quite hard to kill.
If anyone has advice on which will be better to build towards, I would greatly appreciate it. -
Since the energize change, the pairing has a lot more synergy. 2 heals, 2 AoE +end powers, and if you can get global recharge high enough to perma soul drain, it's the exact same amount you need to perma energize.
And like you said, it will shred through rikti without breaking a sweat. The endless endurance makes maintaining fury very easy. -
The fire/rad and ice/rad are already at 50, and for theme purposes, we are keeping the earth/rad as is. I am using the fire and I can solo a few weaer AVs if I use a full tray of inspirations. Until I get him fully IO'd though, the pill popping is required. The long term goal is actually to take on three AVs at once, kind of like a 3-on-3 fight, and the perma hold was just a thought that came into my head one day.
We haven't really had any problems fighting them, I was just curious if we could do better and the hold is what I thought of first. -
Me and two of my friends are making a trio to take down some AVs. We can already kill most of them, but some giving us a bit of trouble. How high of a magnitude will we have to stack to hold them through the purple triangles? We are fire/rad, ice/rad, and earth/rad by the way, so we can stack CC on top of the control set powers if needed, and two of us have seismic smash for additional holding.
-
I am trying to come up with a build to farm on my fire/rad. I'm looking for something for strictly farming, as I will switch builds for anything else. However, I am horrible at making builds that are both good and affordable for me. Currently, I have about 250mil inf available. If anyone can come up with a build that would be good for farming, I would greatly appreciate it. Since it will only be farming, and going as fast paced as I can go, I don't mind if any debuffs are left out, as I won't want to waste time recasting them on every group. I prefer Stone Mastery for an ancillary pool, but if something else is far better to farm with, I'll be open to it. Thank you in advanced.
Also, if GR (finally) lets us trade inf between heroes and villains, I can get up to 800mil inf available, so that will give much more flexibility to the build. -
Why is it that this set gives more def for brutes than it does stalkers? 12.8% for kinetic shield on brutes, and 16.5% on stalkers. On top of that ~4%, stalkers get hide as well for some small defense. Since the other secondaries give identical percentages, why not /EA?
-
OK, I just checked. It is 500% for blasters according to mid's. I thought it was higher than that.
-
If you are asking about just set bonuses, don't worry about it, you won't hit it. I'm not sure what the number is off the top of my head, but its higher than you can get without being fulcrum shifted.
-
Every post here is wrong. Anyone with half a brain knows that the best build in the game is War Mace/Energy Aura. It's just too strong and too pretty.
-
My fire/rad troller Pyro Master was my first toon to 50 a few years back, and I love playing him. Unfortunately, I got him to 50 before IOs came out and I am used to his performance without them, so he currently only uses them for frankenslotting. Does anyone have a build that would work farming with this toon? My budget is currently around 200mil, but I can easily get that up to 300 in a few days with marketing and farming with some friends. I am looking for a farming build first, then after i get enough funds through that, I plan on using his 2nd build for AV soloing. Thank you in advance for any help.
-
Just curious here, why were those the selected sets for the question? Are you planning on using those sets and need help deciding which AT to play?
-
Quote:Get 5 doctored wounds in there(not the heal/end/rech one), and use the sixth slot for the unique. You will only lose 5ish % for the total rech and heal that wayDP = dullpain = hoarfrost.
Slotting in permafrost would be my first choice as well.
Unfortunately, i wont be takin that power. Nor tough/weave.
So if i wanna slot a steadfast in my ice/ tank I would have to put it in DP.
Now.
What slot would you give up on hoarfrost if you slot 3 rech/3 heal usually? -
Quote:This is something I have been wondering for some time now. Are you saying -1/x8 does or does not drop purples with a lvl50 character? If they do still drop, then I will be running RWZ mishes like crazy at -1/x8 on my /elec brute.
Farming is typically done at level 50, therefor you want the difficulty at +0/x8 to kill fast and get all level 50 recipes. Or you want them at -1/x8 to kill even faster and get a few level 49 recipes, but the purples will still drop as 50 (that's all they can drop as).
If you're not a level 50, you're not farming, but you are trying to maximize your rewards. In that case, yes, you want to up the difficulty. -
It would be a badge for resisting the temptations of evil, more than a badge for not doing anything. Or perhaps a badge for staying loyal to Recluse's plan for the destined ones in a villain's case.
-
Well if you want to know how they perform, they can solo GMs. And if you always use 2, the tougher enemies will just melt under 2 EFs and the constant -res from sonic blast. the only problem I had with mine is that at the lower lvls endurance is an issue. But I suspect with AM being perma-cycled between the two of you, end problems will be less of a problem. With two of you, I would also reccamend getting assault once you can handle the end on it (it is a higer costing toggle than most in the game), because the +30 from 2 assaults, +20 from each AM, and the -res, you will be cranking out damage.
I say go for it, the set will be powerful with or without both of them playing at the same time. -
This is a very good point. With a stalker who kills his targets ASAP, burst damage will be your friend. I highly doubt you will have a stalker that needs to sustain dps over long enough time for NB to become more powerful.
-
Well as long as you arent going for the MOSTF, I would say to just get some shivans and warburg nukes.
