I'm fixing to respec my main blaster Fire/Fire and was wondering about this power.
I've never used it on any toon before. What are it's pro and cons?
Thanks.

cons on a blaster: draws aggro, chows through endurance, turns off at the sign of any mez effect.

pros on a blaster: has a +fear component and a slow component.

Hot Feet is a useful tool when put into melee situations to get your blaster back to ranged combat. It's +fear will send most minions and lewy's heading in the opposite direction, and it's +slow component will make sure enemies aren't running away at top speed. When coupled with power sets that contain TAOE's like Rain of Fire, you can shred through enemies fairly quickly.

This soft control is mitigated by the ability of the power to draw aggro. If you land in a group and everybody turns to look at your blaster, you'll probably go splat. Additionaly, the power chomps through 1.04 endurance per second... base. That's more than Focused Accuracy. If you are running on an SO build, you could find yourself out of endurance in a hurry when enabling the power.

Pro: it does ticks of of like 60 with aim/bu/slotting and some defiance going.
Pro: it kills stuff dead when paired with fireball+fireswordcircle with no repositioning needed. or sub rain of fire in for FSC for larger area of effect
Pro: it will keep you a bit safer while playing up close and personal
Pro: it encourages very aggressive play, which is the only way to go with fire/fire.

Con: it is pretty costly
Con: it turns off when mezzed
Con: some people try to use it to do silly things like get out of melee

On note with it doing ~60 dmg with aim/BU/defiance, it will complement blazing aura's damage quite nicely as well. That extra bit every second could mean the difference in time for an angry LT to get off a finishing blow on your squishy blaster.

I use it on 2 lvl 50 /Fire blasters. One has concealment pool invisibility, so I can leave hot feet on and still position myself undetected. Then aim+BU, drop invis, Burn and Fire Sword Circle kills everything trying to escape.

The second has PFF, and the technique is the same. You just dont want to do this against nemesis bots because the death explosions will do enough damage to kill you.

I use it as my non crash nuke.

If you can afford a couple slot investment in it, Hot Feet really enjoys IO set slotting, so you can get enough end redux, accuracy, damage, AND slowing in for your tastes. If you like getting in melee for FSC and such, it lets you stay safer by making things run away very slowly while getting melted. If you hate melee and want something to discourage the enemies that do try and run towards you, Hot Feet will likely just waste your endurance.

Rule number six of an empathy defender is NEVER underestimate a blaster's ability to die. I don't care if he has CM, Fort, both RAs, bubbles (both FF and Sonic), and is fighting next to a Storm defender with hurricane on. If there is a way to die in that situation, the blaster will find it.
