Who here plans to make there kheld go nictus when Going Rouge comes out?
My Warshade, VestigeOne, will definitely "go rogue" when that expansion comes out... It fits right in with his storyline.
Nice sig, by the way.

I agree, that sig is very cool.
My shade will under no circumstances switch sides. He may go vigilante though.
Might make a new shade in praetoria with the intention of going to the rogue isles.

If the devs let Kheldians sideswitch. It MIGHT be that they won't let it happen, especially since Kheldians are so strongly associated with Paragon Police redside. This is just my logic... Epics might be locked in with their specific side... a member of Arachnos would be even more difficult to justify sideswitching than a Kheld, for instance.
But who knows, they may allow it, and we have no indication to think that they won't let Kheldians sideswitch. There is some reasoning to think that they might not allow it, however, especially if there is some reluctance to let us customize our powers for roleplay reasons.
Sorry to be so negative, I hope you can do what you want to do. Though I'd be curious how it would work with sideswitching... it would alter the bond with the human entirely for a Nictus or a PB... though I suppose you can explain that away without touching the powers. Hmmmm, interesting.

My understanding was all EAT's will be allowed to switch but none will be allowed to be created as natives to Preatoria. They must start in their respective sides and proceed from there.
If you PL'd to 50 just to get an "epic" thinking you'd be ber, you're going to be sorely disappointed with the HEATs, because the VEATs were designed so that anyone with one good finger and a braincell can rock the toggles.
I think the whole reason Devs are allowing side-switching at all is to cater to everyone who would like to "role-play" with their character and play them on the "dark side" or the light side (not to mention more easily being able to team no matter what side you're on)...
So, saying that Khelds can't switch due to "storyline" reasons is probably about as lame as an excuse as, say.... Not allowing Khelds to color their powers...
I'm not saying you're the one making the excuse... I'm saying if it were to happen as you say, it'd be the DEV'S lame excuse for just not saying "we hate Khelds."

My guess is they won't let Khelds and VEATs switch sides because of some lame RP restriction (which is, apparently, why they aren't color customizable, and the "dark" theme for <powerset redacted> never made it out of closed beta). However, I could be pleasantly surprised, in which case... I'd leave mine right where they are.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
Hmm... that makes me think City of Neutrals will have its own EAT.
Also I wonder will evil peacebringers turn into evil warshades (nictus)?
because isn't that what the difference is khelds get negative powers when they are nictuses? isn't that the background story for warshades?
Then again you do fight Nictus as White Dwarves, that always confused me.
Also I think power customization for khelds makes sence, Shadowstar has grey energy and Requiem has redish energy, they just need to keep peacebrings light and warshades dark, you know exactly how most power customization currently works.

"Incarnates will make their final appearance in the Going Rogue expansion. That's all I can say right now about that."
I'm not exactly sure what an "Incarnate" would be, whether or not it would be something we'd fight, or whether or not it'd be something that could be *created* by one of us... I really have no idea. I just know that the word "Incarnate" was used...

By the way, how are you making your sigs, and also, how are you getting them to switch up with every page refresh?

oh I made them in photoshop, and I use a PHP script, thats all
Also during the proccess I ended up with cool transperant images of some of my chars
Truth is the real reson I made this topic what to see if my sig worked.
I have a feeling that there won't be any restrictions on which characters can switch sides. After all, there is an evil Statesman and more likely than not there will be a good Recluse as well (we just haven't seen him yet). I also think that they will offer more power customization with GR. This is all just guessing because I really have no idea but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Perhaps there will be a third one somewhere (Or they may be talking about Tyrant), or it could be a new origin. But I would think for it to be a playable character it would have to be VERY powerful.

Lord Recluse and Stateman are the only Incarnates in CoX at the moment. The term Incarnate is I think used to mean 'Of godly origin', since LR and States got their power from the Well of the Furies, which is something to do with the Greek gods.

As for Peacebringers not being able to 'Go Rogue' because they're so goody-goody, or entrenched with the PPD - I've fought plenty of Bright Novas and White Dwarfs as Baddies in missions, so to hades with that notion...
If they don't allow it, they'll have to come up with a different 'wallbanger' reason than that.
Oh, and I was certainly planning to go rogue with my PB, but now I'm wavering. I might just have her go vigilante... Sheesh...I'm as confused as she is...

They may let it slide, of course, but I do hope they fix that sticky wicket. At the very least, Peacebringers that side switch had better at least get a color change to their powers. I know Kheldians are a "smaller" portion of the content, but I do hate how incompletely they're implemented at times.
I know you're all into the roleplay of your particular character, but any Peacebringer or Warshade sideswitching makes me rather sad. Especially the Warshades. Forgive me for getting too involved with the game, heh.

The way I see it is that just because a Peacbringer hasn't become a Nictus it doesn't mean they are good. At one point they did have a war and in order to create Nictus in the first place there had to be good PB's and bad PB's.
The only real difference between Nictus and PB's is chemical (Due to whatever science experiment changed them in the 1st place), and the fact that Nictus have had generations of evil breeding while PB's have generations of being good.
So Peacebringers could well be evil (Like Nictus wannabees), Warshades going evil is a bit harder to understand, but along the same lines.
After all the PB's and WS's we have today are not the ones that originally had the war and split off from each other, so there is a chance that some would start to have their own ideas.
Personally I don't think I would take my Warshade over to the other side, unless there was absolutely nothing lost by doing so, in which case all my toons will end up however they need to be to play both sides.
British by act of union, English by grace of God, Northern by pure good fortune!
My Warshade's probably as Warshade as one can get, meaning that he would be the last Warshade to go Nictus.
That being said, it would offer some interesting possibilities in the future with another character. Only time will tell I suppose.
Also I wonder will evil peacebringers turn into evil warshades (nictus)?

1. Morality. Peacebringers (and Warshades) won't force posession on a host. They combine. Nictus will try for complete domination.
2. Science altering their powers. Nictus (the "race," if you will, as opposed to the faction) came about due to altering their powers via scientific experiment.
Now, yes, faction-wise, you could fight a Peacebringer "nictus," but that PB's either deluded, fanatic, or (essentially) a Quisling.
Also... *points to sig*
Considering that more than one of the early storylines for PBs (and WSs too?) involved PB fanatics who had chosen to start working with the Council against Sunstorm and/or Shadowstar for various (misguided?) reasons ... and you have to go out and defeat them ... considering that, it's not that far fetched to have player characters who have "strayed from the path" too into becoming vigilantes or villains themselves.
The bottom line question with these things is ... "What's my motivation?"
That covers a whole lot of grey area, in addition to the starker blacks and whites.

Please don't go rouge with your kheld. I personally don't want to have to try to find a new team when my team leader invites one of you to the team.

If you happen to have me on the team, all you got to do is cower and wet your pants in a corner while I solo it, and then the team can move on. You don't even have to find a new team!
It's that easy.

Well now I'm definitely going to do it!
Weirdly Khelds actually work better IMO on Villain teams where the roles are a bit blurrier anyway. Some of the best fun I had on mine was a RWZ team made up of a pair of Brutes, another Warshade, a MM and a couple of Arachnos Soldiers. Mayhem!
Actually I see most people will probably go Vigilante / Rogue rather than out and out switching. Why limit yourself to just one side?

Yes, PBs and WSs need to be able to Go Rogue. There's no valid in-game reason why they shouldn't. Remember, any being that's 'locked' into being good isn't really a good being - more like an robot following it's programming.

And if you're silly enough to drop a team just because a kheld joins, I personally want to thank you for removing yourself from our vicinity. I'm sure the rest of the team would be happy to see you go, too.
