3 trollers and some dead AVs
The PTOD provides 50 points of hold protection, plus 3 inherent points of hold protection so you need to shoot for 54 magnitude. It's tough to do, but with high recharge builds and using the Vanguard Medal you should be able to handle it.
Switch ice/rad out for Illus/Storm. Of all the sets the ice powers come up weakest in AV fights because they do a mixture of status effects and don't do significant amounts of damage. Fact is though that an Illus/Storm can solo a sizable number of AVs anyway and I've duoed with a fire/rad and we've been unstoppable so having three of you should result in a cakewalk if you add in an Illus/Storm.
Actually, I think that me and my fire/rad friend from a long time ago actually duoed Jurrasik once.
3 Rads should be able to shred any AV in the books. Even w/the 75% debuff resists AVs have, 3 RIs and even semi-decent defenses (hint, everyone should run Maneuvers) should make you all untouchable, not to mention 3 EFs. Don't even worry about holding it, though you can get close to 12 mags each off w/the 4 hold powers a */Rad has available, more w/crits and stacking powers like VG (CC's not really reliable to stack), and more as you spam your ST hold.

The problem that you have is that Ice and Earth are the lowest Damage controller sets. You have to rely upon your Fire/Rad being in melee to do consistant damage, and it's not very fast. Now, three Fire/Rads can rip though most AV's pretty easily. Same with 3 Ill/Rads.
You may want to think about increasing your damage instead of your holds. If both the Ice/Rad and the Earth/Rad take their single-target Immobs and slot them for damage, it might help. Try to get as much ranged damage as you can. The Earth/Rad should make sure to slot Rocky with both Pet Resistance procs so that he will last longer tanking for you. If all three of you make sure you heal him as much as you can, he may last quite a while.
LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

Me and two of my friends are making a trio to take down some AVs. We can already kill most of them, but some giving us a bit of trouble. How high of a magnitude will we have to stack to hold them through the purple triangles? We are fire/rad, ice/rad, and earth/rad by the way, so we can stack CC on top of the control set powers if needed, and two of us have seismic smash for additional holding.

you three shoulda rolled an Ill/Rad each & call me in the morning!
The real question is: do you want the best of the best or do you want a concept AV killer?

Tc.
The fire/rad and ice/rad are already at 50, and for theme purposes, we are keeping the earth/rad as is. I am using the fire and I can solo a few weaer AVs if I use a full tray of inspirations. Until I get him fully IO'd though, the pill popping is required. The long term goal is actually to take on three AVs at once, kind of like a 3-on-3 fight, and the perma hold was just a thought that came into my head one day.
We haven't really had any problems fighting them, I was just curious if we could do better and the hold is what I thought of first.
Maneuvers and Assault are a good suggestion. Maximizing holds isn't the smartest way to tackle an AV

Between the three of you and with the assistance of your Ice/Rad you should be able to significantly dent AV attack speed. If your Ice/Rad spams his/her -Recharge powers, including AA (when its safe) and the pet, and the other two members fire Lingering Radiation when it's up, you will slow the rate of attack to about 1/4th normal. That should slow them down enough for the three of you to keep Stoney healed, for the most part. It's not as good as a hold but it works the same way in principal, and it ignores purple triangles.
