Quote:In the OPs second post, he queries "So, nobody wants this?" seeming to imply that he expected it to sell and is experiencing some wonder as to why it hasn't. I thought a response as to why I did't jump in and buy it at three billion could better help him (and all of us) gauge a selling price that would garner active bidding. He asked a question, to which I gave a replyYou are correct. We do not have a last 5 for forum sales. And a discussion of what it may be worth could be possible - if the OP was wondering why their IO wasn't selling imo. However, a discussion of what it is worth is tantamount to thread jacking. The OP posted a price for an IO for sale, then asked for offers - not a recommendation of what it might be worth to various people
Also, at the end of my post I told him that I would pay two billion for it, further helping the OP understand where the market is for that item.
What I hate are people who criticize other posters for reasons not worth the keystrokes it took to type it out. If there is a thread-jacker in this thread, it's you my friend.
(Of course, I understand the cosmic irony in that I become also a thread-jacker by engaging you in your asinine thread-jacking discussion.) -
I guess it comes down to how much time is three billion worth to you. I've gotten to where I can do my five tippies plus the alignment mish in 12-15 minutes. It takes me less than a half hour of game time to get one hero merit, soloing on this one toon. So... if I spend roughly 16 hours of game time, spread out over 70 days, I can have one of my own just like it.
It'll take a while, but three billion is a good deal of influence. I'd buy one for two billion right now, but three is too high, in my opinion, for something I can quite easily get on my own, albeit over a long period of time. -
I can echo this. I started a stalker that is now 24, without stamina. It's KILLING ME. I really want to just jump in and play her, but it's so disappointing being gassed all the time. To anyone making toons now, just take stamina as you usually would and then respec. Or wait.

It would likely be a Spines/Dark or Fire/Dark. Maybe /Shield.

I give it about a 5. It's cool, and all, but after all the ooohs and aaaahs of a new costume or customized power wears off, I'm left with the same old game. It's cool, but it's enjoyment is short-lived, in my opinion.

Quote:I don't think they are going to have THAT much of an effect on most IOs. Probably the highest end (read: Glad Armor Unique) will notice some drop because why would anyone pay 4 billion for something they can easily get for running some tippies every day for 20 minutes. Other than that, I think things may all drop a little, but not too much. Are you guys noticing price drops, due to increased supply I presume, on high-end IO's due to the introduction of AMerits? I've been sitting on a handful of (theoretically) popular enhancements for most of the week, as it seems that I may have vastly overestimated their value.

Hm... that's kinda like saying "I really want to make spaghetti, but I don't want to use noodles or sauce. What do you recommend?"
Honestly, after those two, the drop-off is precipitous. I suppose Devices is probably the worst, but the others aren't a whole lot better, and anything you choose won't be very blappery. -
A couple of pals and I had an ongoing PnP Champions campaign that ran for about 15 years, and then we remade all the characters on CoH and moved it here.
I once GMed the module "Day of the Destroyer". I told the guys it was coming, but I guess I mentioned it too quickly for them to get what I was saying and heard it as "Dave the Destroyer." From then on, whenever we'd fight the nasty Dr. Destroyer, we all just called him "Dave."
Me (GM, to Rob): Ok, Nighthawk, what are you going to do?
Rob: I'm going to go engage those two dudes coming in the door.
Me (to Sean): OK, Virago, you regain consciousness and see Nighthawk running toward the door, what do you do?
Sean: I'm still a little woozy, but I clearly see that Nighthawk is not only homosexual, but he's Mormon. -
Really? Why don't you just put this on the market?

Quote:Yeah, I'm with you. I also have two accounts and, while I will often have both active at the same time, I can usually only do minor things, like doorsittting or occasionally following my main on a farm map spamming buffs. Running a fire.kin farmer with another fire.kin in tow can be pretty devastating: six imps, double hot feet, double fulcrum shift, speed boosting each other.I can't manage two at once myself... the only times I've dual boxed was basically to PL one of the accounts and just let it door sit.
I've also used both accounts in other game situations like Shard TFs, where I leave one toon at the contact while the other actually runs the TF. I've also managed to run a tank and an EMP on a hami. When my tank's yellow goes down, I switch to the emp and rez and buff.
That's about it. I can't even get my head around five accounts at once. -

Get singularity and softcap your ranged defense. Then, blast from a distance. You will feel absolutely uber, even as a squishy. Singy is a bad mutha to mobs, knocking them all over and holding them as you blow them away. It's not even fair. However, if your toon likes to play more in melee range, then its usefulness is severely hampered.
I've never used it on a Dom, but I have on a defender and so I'm imagining my defender with more firepower to go with Singy and my heart goes pitterpat and my loins tingle. -
I think it's handy as a mule for Numina, Miracle, Regenerative Tissue and Panacea uniques and maybe a few set bonuses, but what it adds to a toon all by itself is negligible, in my opinion. If you aren't slotting the special IOs, then just leave it at one and use he slots somewhere else.
Most of my toons have some combination of those uniques, many with only the Numina. -
I think I would like the healing in Spirit Tree to be sticky. So, toons that go into the range of the tree get the healing ticks and it stays on them even after they leave the range of the tree. That would make it a little different from the Triage Beacon... and more utilitarian.
-
I think the most common powers I will add are:
Concealment, mostly as a mule for LotGs, but extra stealth is always handy.
Teleportation, mainly because it's very handy and doesn't take a lot of slots to be so.
Godmodes, I rarely take them, but I always consider it.
Fighting, this is tricky because of the slots that are needed to make it really functional, but I think many of my toons can make this work. -

Unless I have a specific concept I am building for (this is true on maybe 25% of my toons), my default movement is Superspeed+Hurdle+Combat Jumping. I've used all the movement powers at one time or another and no other option is more utilitarian, especially with the easy access to jetpacks. Super Jump is very handy, but if I want fast, my SS+ option is faster, and if I want ease, then flight is easier. Just my personal preference.
I do like flight, however, even though it is pretty slow. It's very handy on blasters with slotting to boost ranged defense. Also, Air Superiority is probably the most underused awesome power in the game. One of my plans for Fitness going inherent is to add AS to many melee toons (especially tanks) for whom their first attack is measly. I'll put the slots in AS instead and just leave the old Teir 1 unslotted and out of my attack chain. I so rarely see people use AS, but it is always so effective and fun.
I get Combat Jumping on nearly every toon, but I rarely use Super Jump. I also only rarely use Teleport, but I can forsee that many of my toons will add Teleportation after Fitness goes inherent because you can add the the powers and get almost all of their effectiveness with zero slots. -
Agreed. This isn't a PB Human Form problem. This is a -KB problem.
-
For me, it totally depends on what I am doing.
I turn it up to +4/x8:
when I want a challenge
when I am stress-testing a toon
I turn it up to +0/x6 (or 8)
when I am farming
I lower it to -1/x1
when I am badging mishes, like in Ouroboros.
when I am running tippies.
(When I go for Portal Jockey, for example, I just want it to be quick and easy. When I solo tippies, I can do five in 10-15 minutes set that low.) -
This tip mish is one of my favorites. Why? Because it's hard. Way too much of this game is too easy.
If I'm looking to speed through tippies, I set to -1 and grind through five of them in fifteen minutes or so. If I'm looking to have some fun, I put the settings up and get to work. I know it sounds weird, but in many ways, deaths mean fun. If you CAN fail, it makes victory all the sweeter. -
For what it's worth, the ones you can purchase, you can get at lvl 10, so you can slot it in the Hollows... or Imperial City.
-
I put one in almost every one of my toons. It's a handy little bugger. Truthfully, if I was hurting for slots and it was between that or an LotG or Shield Wall, I'd pass, but otherwise I slot it.
When can you not use some free accuracy? -
Hi, Schooner. You'll find you landed on a great server. It's got a big enough population to make teaming a cinch. There are several active global channels. There are lots of player-un events. And we are probably the most active raiding server. The people here are pretty helpful and cool. Enjoy.

I still can't get in. It's been about a half an hour.
