  1. I assume the Going Rogue boxed expansion may well be like Architect Edition in that it comes with the original game as well, so new players only have to buy one box, and others can get a fully updated version of the game discs to save reinstalling or a long download.

    This is entirely guesswork.

Your clarity in typing implies you are not drunk enough.

I'd have to be drunk, high, missing several fingers and having major concussion before I started making typos. English freak.

    Midnighter club

I'm disappointed that this game has no talking skulls.

    So, Demons?

    [ QUOTE ]
using my psychic powers (because i totally have that power) i'd like to think that Posi and the devs are making a Primary powerset that is very neutral based. Demons are pretty much one sided: Evil. Yes, i know we have a good guy with the ability to summon demons but not everybody has the same background story. So I must conclude that the Primary Powerset can be either Good or Evil to fit with the "Going Rogue" Theory.

I say elementals would be very neat but I want Pirates gosh darn it! You hear me Positron?! I want my Pirates! Arrrgh!

We just had this conversation. One word: Hellboy.
  5. Try and solo it, before you get the Fire Imps.

I wonder if it'll be as hilarious as me soling my Kin/Rad.

The pets you can summon are a double-edged sword. They allow you to save your own end for your buffs/debuffs, but they require constant attention.

    [/ QUOTE ]

until level 32, depending on your set. After which, you can pretty much run on CL 5 and read the forum at the same time. :-)

    QFT

Heck, with Force Field you can run on Relentless, read the forum and play Pokemon at the same time.

    Where Can I Go?

Of course, there's pretty big spawns of strong allies as well as enemies.

It's also one of the few places you can find Paragon Protectors, so not bad for badge hunting if you're into that kind of thing. (also required for an Accolade)
  8. I keep expecting to see a story from someone about a Hess TF with a drunken Controller.
  9. I kinda love it when sci-fi crosses back over into fantasy. It's the kind of over-the-top weirdness that superheroes are all about. Then again, I love it the most when sci-fi has a head-on collision with fantasy, which is also why I love superheroes. (see also: Warhammer 40,000)

As I said: The Rogue Isles wouldn't be nearly as fun as a tightly controlled police state or rather decently run dictatorship. It's meant to be a supervillain's paradise, and the world is built around that.

I had the same idea about origins, but I agree that trying to add power customization would be difficult. Though, I do have a suggestion on how it could be done (read #3. below). Anyway, I have 3 ideas on how to make origins actually matter.

    1. How about adding certain inherent advantages/disadvantages or buffs/debuffs (whatever you want to call it) to each origin, independent of the archetype and your enhancements.
Example: All toons with mutant origin will have additional toxic damage resistance. All toons with magic origin are more resistant to dark powers.

    [/ QUOTE ]
They tried stuff like that in early versions of this game- Natural got extra Attack, Tech got extra Resistance, for example. They took it out when they realised every Blaster would be Natural, every Tanker would be Tech and so on.
  11. Anyone remember, I think his name was, Doug the Troll?
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Said by Jose Brogan while on a mission from Antonio Nash:

    [ QUOTE ]
I heard there were some Skulls sniffing around Atlas Park, but I thought it was just a rumor. You might want to see what you can dig up in this supposedly empty warehouse.

Dyne is pretty new on the streets, so nobody knows much about it. It gives users a rush of euphoria and strength, but it leaves their whole body aching afterwords. Some muscle spasms and skin diseases have even been linked to Dyne use. It looks like the Skulls are looking for a new market in which to peddle their poison.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    (emphasis mine)

    [/ QUOTE ]
Of course, all that sounds like the first signs of becoming a Troll.

I remember a contact saying that despite being villains, Trolls are victims of drug addiction, and deserve at least some sympathy. It's hard sometimes.

I assume the Family version is probably closer to a standard super-serum, and probably taken in smaller amounts and maybe mixed with some other treatments or gear.

    The way I put it?

Recluse has immense technological means but absurd and camp motivations. Nemesis and Malta have absurd and camp means but cutting-edge motivations. They win.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think what I like about Nemesis is that from all angles he seems like a goofy, campy villain with a garish theme, but all of that is merely a façade for a fiendish intellect and utter ruthlessness in accomplishing his goals. His entire theme is to put heroes off guard until they see his true face.

    Pocket D?

Careful with custom missions too, a lot of custom enemy groups are crazy powerful. Especially bosses.
  15. I think of Dominators as more like Blasters with better control powers.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Yup. Every "levelless" enemy has a hidden level to determine its possible drops. All invasion creatures in the game are level 30. Presumably this is so that lowbies aren't mauled like they would be if they fought enemies with level 50 powers, but 50s still have a challenge (kind of).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unfortunately, they don't scale all that well to low levels. A "levelless" minion is still gonna be a lot harder than an actual level 1 minion for a level 1 character.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Because they have more and stronger powers than most level 1 minions, and things like mezzes and debuffs, even if the damage scales. You can't really change that, you have to create a new kind of minion.

    So, Demons?

    [ QUOTE ]
animals be cool, bears, tigers or even mythical, hydra, griffen or sumthin

    [/ QUOTE ]
Skeletons are the big problem there. The dev team would have to create entirely new body types and dozens, if not hundreds of new animations for every single animal.
  18. Yeah, I also agree about the crack.

The closest thing I can think of to 'pre-emptive heals' is a buff.
  19. They really need to make some dedicated mob spawn zones in PI, the current hunt missions are a pain and a shining demonstrator of Murphy's Law. Hunt missions in general suck though.
  20. You don't really need to whine about kill-stealing in this game, since the XP reward system still gives rewards for mobs you damaged, and street hunts are fairly rarely done. If you're hunting and someone tries to help you, you can ask them to team up with you so you both get credit.

Kill-stealing is a bigger deal in other games that make players queue up for a chance to fight a certain mob that is required for a quest, but this game saw how dumb that was. It's really not worth fretting about. If someone's following you around killing everything you try to fight, go into a mission instance and leave them out in the cold.
  21. If the new TF contact isn't a bat chick with huge boobs, I'll be angry.

I just did a Hess TF while drunk.

    It was awesome.

    Still drunk now.
