Zombie attack drops only lvl 30?

I have always enjoyed the Zombie attacks but one thing about them bothers me. I run with my lvl 50s and 40s but the highest/only recipe drops I get are level 30. Did I miss a memo somewhere? Is this the way it is supposed to work? Unfortunatly I have not checked my drops on lower characters, so I am not sure what I am getting on those.

This has been bugging me a while but I keep forgetting to ask.

Even though you don't see it, the zombies are level 30. Damage is scaled to the appropriate level using mechanics similar to the Giant Monster scaling. I believe the Rikti invasion is the same way.

Yup. Every "levelless" enemy has a hidden level to determine its possible drops. All invasion creatures in the game are level 30. Presumably this is so that lowbies aren't mauled like they would be if they fought enemies with level 50 powers, but 50s still have a challenge (kind of).

And to add, the Elite Bosses during invasions (Rikti Heavy Assault Suits and zombie Nightmares) are 50, and will drop level 50 recipes.

Unfortunately, they don't scale all that well to low levels. A "levelless" minion is still gonna be a lot harder than an actual level 1 minion for a level 1 character.

Because they have more and stronger powers than most level 1 minions, and things like mezzes and debuffs, even if the damage scales. You can't really change that, you have to create a new kind of minion.

[/ QUOTE ]This. The hitpoints are a serious problem for low-level PCs fighting Rikti, Zombies, and GMs.
