I haven't heard anything about new archetypes for Going Rogue. I doubt it, as that would be significant development time added.
I guess you'll have to learn to share.

No you do have to have CoH to buy Going Rogue, it is an expansion, and yes they will have all new ATs - the ones that start in the grey alignment area

[/ QUOTE ]I haven't seen any information about any "new ATs that start in the grey alignment area". Praetoria allows current heroes to go through the gray area to become a villain, and a villain to go through the gray area to become a hero.

1) There's been nothing that I've seen saying Going Rogue can stand alone; it's been billed as an expansion to the City of Heroes franchise, not an "expanshalone" like CoV was.
2) For some time now (a year? something like that), anyone purchasing JUST CoH or JUST CoV still got access to both sides of the game. So even if GR was a standalone product, granting access to both sides wouldn't be any different from the CoH, CoH:CE, CoV, CoV:CE, GvE, CoHMSE, or CoH:AE versions of the game available now, as far as access to the game goes.

The first part - it requiring CoH/V - is in the FAQ.
Nothing on the second. I do recall a dev (sorry, can't remember exactly where so I can't link) that we might be able to start in new characters in Pretoria - effectively starting new characters "purpleside" - that they would be neither hero nor villain until we do enough to confirm one alignment or the other.

For some reason I have this strange gut feeling that there will be at least one new AT, possibly as many as three but not a full set of 5. Perhaps, a new epic AT will be the only addition... unlocked by a new method (maybe successfully side-switching a character). Nothing is confirmed at this juncture regarding new ATs. Heck, we don't even know what existing ATs will be granted access to the new powersets that are presumed to be included with i16/Going Rouge!

The Spy AT will probably be added, or something to that effect. Also, from rumors (unconfirmed) that I've heard they've been working on this expansion since probably 2006 or 2007.
If anyone has the date of that survey they sent out, that would probably shed some light on when they started working on it.

Well to be fair to that, people have been asking for side-switching since COV came out. But that doesn't mean that they had been devoting much thought to *how* that could be done at that time. I imagine it would be kind of hard on the group that was left at that point, "well, we can back burner all this stuff, ... someone write this down. some day. some day we will get to it." I'm just glad that they have enough man and woman power to GET to things now.

I have heard from this guy I once met that someone he spoke with anonymously online said a totally reliable source heard the developers have absolutely guaranteed us a big red ball in the new issue, and that we can all whine and complain and make endless angsty threads on these forums if we don't get it.
I bet the spy archetype can start out in Praetoria and kick the big red ball farther than anyone.

If this is true, wouldn't they need a complete set of new archetypes?
The reason I ask, is because the archetypes in Heroes/Villains are specific to that box. It's a part of what we pay for. I would feel swindled if buying the third box alone gives you access to all the current archetypes, even if you can't play around in the zones inherent to Heroes/Villains.
