  1. Went on a Mothership Raid last night. Everyone was complaining of lag, which I was getting also, in addition to the issues with graphics. The lag was still present after I put it in N64 mode.

But...I got 80ish Vmerits and bought the two face parts. So, lame as the battle was, it was profitable. Now I need the "hips."

Well, since I'm going to be spamming it, even though DA is a flyswatter, it might as well be a big flyswatter. And getthe most def per activation so I don't have to spam it too much.

    Rept:
I'm still figuring out the BS/DA I'm going to make. I know I should probably just doodle around until the 20s and then use the second build, but I like to use Mids. I'm always wanting to take about three more powers than I'm allowed. My latest FotM is Vengeance. But since it takes three powers to get it, and it's not ASAP, it either gets bumped or picked up at 49.
  3. I have never been on a Mothership Raid.

I'm good for Tuesdays. Lost is over, afterall.
  4. Really sad I missed it. The F/Rad is one of my favorite nights.

Proud of us for having two teams. We're getting like Tanker Tuesdays, but with a better AT and powersets. XD
  5. Re: not having Cimerora unlocked yet.
On Saturday, I realized I hadn't done the Midnighters arc so I just threw together a pug there in SC made of middle teens and we did Midnighters at level 48. Bad craziness.
  6. Capped like that, why even take Divine Avalanche? It's damage sucks.

It's my bestest, bestest pal, but that's because my S/L is around 12, ENFC just under 40.

  8. No procs, you don't use it that much.

    Acc/Dam/Rech

I actually depend on my global acc and then used the D/Rech from Cleaving Blow, Erad, Dervish, and Multi-Strike to cap it. All are cheap, if I remember correctly.
  9. Geez, guys. Canes fly out of our butts during Winter Event. I think I might have 100 canes among all my toons, but I'm not transferring them around for 5m. Oh, and I'm only blue side, so, like, nevermind.

Oh, and as for making 27k on them now or 500k on them in December I got two words: The Time Value of Money. Though in this instance we're not talking about interest but opportunity. You can probably turn 27k into over 500k by December...uh...well...maybe not. Nevermindx2.
  10. I've always gone the set route. It's just things like katana's Divine Avalanche or BS's Parry that I want to max out the important stuff. Though, hitting rech, dam, and def caps leaves me depending on global acc, which is second in line behind rech that I try to go for in nearly any toon. [I don't do tanks.]

but, yeah, I should have realized the answer was "it depends."
  11. OK, I totally understand now.

And one more thing irritating about Temp powers...why can't we see what they do before we craft them? And why can't we see what we need to craft them until we have them in our hands?

    Baseball bat ftl.

Hand grenade and the one that's Energy Blaster's cone are good though.

    Nope, they look identical.

You'd craft one as a spare. Like a spare tire on a car. You could need it. I've had one run out on me before I knew about the other. 40k and I have a power just sitting on the shelf, there if I need it.

Ethereal Shift and Hyperphase are even more divergent than the flying tools here. Hyperphase is free for running a 2 minute patrol mish that can be run up to three times in your toon's career. Ethereal Shift is a crafted temp. ES gives you only five 30 second phase shifts where Hyperphase give you 30 minutes in 30 second chunks [60]. I keep both on my main scrapper, using ES until it's gone then changing to HP. Afterward, I'll go craft another.

Klatteja, if you think 40k is big money. Send me an email at @Postagulous and I'll send you 10m. But only if you craft a Jet Pack and get a Raptor.
  13. 40k isn't alot.

    Because you can carry two.

Same with Hyperphase and Ethereal Shift.
  14. How I, a novice, get around trying to keep up with others who actually took travel powers, as I just hop hop hop around with Ninja Jump, though at around 50ish mph depending on level. If I'm in one of those commute-heavy TFs, keeping my options open is a good idea.

I have Pocket-D tp from some set. Pocket-D gets me to a SG base portal and KR, Talos, FF, and Faultline. If you come out the door in Talos and turn left, you're about 200 or so yards from the Green line [and WW if you pre-bought tons of your favorite insp.]

The Wentworth TP you can get from just logging out there will get you to SC near the Yellow line, AP, KR, or Talos. And the same goes for Talos's handy Green line and SG base portal. I mention the base portal because you can get into Crey's Folly, etc, much easier than any other way with the beacon tps.

I reserve the Door TP for when I know it's going to be irritating to get there. If I'm in Dark Astoria and the next mish is in Perez Park, I whip that sucker out. Then wait seven minutes waiting for the others to get there.

Once you hit 25 there's the Ouroboros portal and it has a great Talos exit. It's also the best way to get to Perigrine Island.

Oh, I forgot. You can also get from Atlas to Perigrine easy by going through the Vanguard portal. And FF too, but really in any TF, it's incredibly unlikely you'd travel between any of those. And I know someone will say, "Not till your 35." Wrong.

There's a great map out there, I forgot who made it, showing what connects to what. And it's also important to know where the tp is going to dump you. If you're wanting to get to the Yelllow line from your SG, going to SC is not the way to do it as you'll be on the other side of the map.

Pocket-D recharges [edited] in 30 minutes. Ouro in five, I think.. I think WW is ten. Door, as mentioned before, is 2 hr.

There is also a base transporter, but I don't have it. I believe it's a four-ish year vet reward. [edited to add - or park yourself near your SG base portal.]

Edited to add - Found the map:

  15. Uh, yeah, I know.

My question was, Can I come out better overall to Frankenslot individiual powers rather than scrounging for bonuses?

Now, my example of Crushing Impacts isn't that big a deal, as I love that set. But my lame choices, like you mentioned, after the rule of fives, I think I'd be better frankenslotting rather than getting 1.5% recovery from sub-optimum IOs just to get that bonus.

This has nothing to do with the rule of fives.
  16. OK, I was planning a BS/DA scrapper and had just frankenslotted Parry so it had rech, dam, and def all in the 90's. [Edit - Obviously Def is in the 50s, not 90s] I regretted giving up my 5% global recharge in Crushing Impact [because I frankenslotted] ...and then I thought, "Hey, are these 5%'s the same? Is my getting a 94% rather than an 88% rech in my Parry the same as if I had a global rech 5% running?"

If so, I think it's a false economy, maybe.

I fight to get global rech. Mostly sacrificing rech or damage or end to get the set, or at least the set up to where the rech comes into play.

But I can always get the individual powers numbers better if I frankenslot. I can get that 5% easily. And it'll be lots cheaper and more than likely the other attributes I want the power to have will be better.

Another thing I'm wondering, when I slot, say, two GotA to get the 2% recovery, and slot a plain Def to get near the cap, would it have been better to do two plain def and an end? Or three def/end from def sets? [I think it's usually four that gets it all the way there.]

    Thoughts/Knowledge?

If I were to follow your guide exactly UnicyclePeon, how much would do you think it would cost? Is that a decent build to have for general PvE party use?
PermaPA is a goal best set for the far future if you've never IOed a toon before. Download Mid's and see what works for you. However, check the price of things before you get all excited about your killer build. Some people don't blink at a 2 billion inf build. I find anything over 800m to cramp my style.

Also, we all have different play styles. I use my pets constantly. One of my main goals is to chuck Terror all over the place locking everything down. Phantasm needs healing. Maybe target through the tank and fire off some Blind or Wounds. Throw the Storm. Throw the Rain. Herdicane stragglers into the cornerpull while always, always running Sup Invis.

From reading Local, he doesn't play like that. Notice I didn't say Decieve in mine? I usually only try that on bosses we're having trouble with or something that can dish the pain, getting it off us and on them. Or for entertainment while waiting. I also try to only use Tornado in small areas. It's hilarious in really tight areas [like that one at the top of the stairs, right before the end, in the office. Bwar har har har.]

Make a build you like and post it so the gurus can disect it for you.

    Congrats on your uber-cool ill/storm.

Granted there's not a ton of weapon customization for AR, but I do dig the Council rifle.

[Off Topic: I've got to make a Broadsword/ scrap because there are a ton of Weapon Customizations for that. Too bad it's sloooow compared to what I'm used to.]

    Weapon Customizations:
    http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Weapon...#Assault_Rifle

The image doesn't show it much, but the Council rifle is quite large. Also, it's incredibly easy to kill 200 Council.

My beef with AR/ is the burst sound. Oh, I'm so sick of that.
  20. Sounds neat. Too powerful. I'd forgive my Fire/Dev and AR/Dev for being the turds they are. [no, not that bad, really.]
  21. Adding to the Aim+BU+RoF+FBall+FBreath crowd. I don't care about the aggro, and they aren't going anywhere but the floor. All should be recharged by the time we get to the next tight spawn, at least toward the higher levels.

I've taken Shiver now, so just add Shiver to that.

Sure, tanks and scrappers may not like it, and I know I don't when I'm one, not due to scattering, but becaue we're killing them too fast. Which is always irritating, .

I've never taken it, but didn't we just have a thread about how FA totally blows?

And if you're happy with DC, then why even get PP? Conserve Power, DC and PP are all about Endurance. Two are click, with one being a suck stuff up and the other a meter it out slow. The auto is a recovery. I see no conflict in any of them.

Plus, I trust the members here that convinced me that FA was a turd.

Edited to Add: Now that I read the rest of your post I see that you're talking about all the mqassive Endurance gain of the build. I'm guessing it's a kneejerk to seeing the word Dark. In context, everything you said was totally valid, except FA blow.
  23. I've thought about deleting and remaking my first and only 50. She's a MA/Inv and I just don't like playing her compared to my other toons.

I've deleted two spines. I just can't get into spines, but I've never even gotten to Quills. So I'm not the best judge.

Keep the stuff you like. Make marketers of the stuff you don't.
  24. 1. Post your build.

    2. This one was posted by Organica when I asked a while back, but this was for a 50 respec, so you might need to move stuff around. I found it cost prohibitive.
