Pet AI broken?
Nope. My Phantasm usually stays away. Occasionally he'll run in, but no more so than he did pre-I17. And yours keeps dying? Strange. My Ill/Rad's reached L40 and the only time his Phantasm's died is when I was fighting an SC fire and he came back from fighting Hellions and hovered into a fire next to the one I was fighting. :P
And it's a good thing for your Fly Trap to go into melee range: its melee attacks are stronger than its ranged.
Yes, it does. I fought a couple AVs and Eochai today and after every 2-4 enemy attacks I had to respawn because the phantasm was down. Before I17 I fought Nightstar and Siege and my phantasm was never in melee range.
It's pretty annoing because I don't know why...
same here i fought eochai and jack at once and had to resummon it extremly often
before i17 i had to do it one or twice a fight (ill/rad/ice troller)

I haven't noticed any difference with my fire imps, but then they've always been crazy.

Not only have i noticed this with my phantasm but i also had a problem with my PA not attacking when summoned since i17 came out. didnt think it was related until i started reading the reports about pet behavior problems. i really hope this is fixed. or maybe im just imagining a problem thats worse than it is.
Hmm. My Phantom Army attacks with no problems. It *does* seem like I have to summon/lead them a little closer than I used to have to before they aggro, but once they get in range there are no problems.
I've noticed that Phantasm is closing to melee a lot more than before. I was trying to solo the Kraken today and he kept dying to the AoE no matter where I summoned him. I've been able to handle GM's before thanks to his decoy handling downtime betweens PA's, but with no Phantasm, no Decoy.
Maybe it is just me, but I noticed some strange behaviour since I17 launch.
I have a fire/kin, ill/rad and plant/psi (domi). Every pet always approaches to melee...
I think it's ok for imps and maybe even for the plant pet. But I really don't like to respawn my phantasm every mob, just because it is too dumb (now) to stay ranged...
Did anyone else notice this?
