Weekly Fire/Rad Goodness!

Evening guys and gals! This announcement is to let you know that MidLevel Crisis supergroup and the Marketing group on Freedom is sponsoring a Fire/Rads superteam every Monday night.

If you've never played a Fire/Rad before, come see why burning and microwaving enemies is so much fun!

If you want to get in touch with me prior to this you can reach me at @Hyperstrike1 or on that night as Flamin' Trolla.

Additionally, you can catch people in the The Market channel. Simply ask about Fire/Rads and we'll be there.

If we fill a team and still have more we'll split evenly on how ever many show up and run multiple teams. We'll try to make sure nobody's left out.

Now this isn't a PL group (though, as fast as we cut through stuff it may feel like it).

Additionally, several of the core members are level locked in the mid-30's range (myself included). So our focus will be on helping players get comfortable with their toons and get them to the point that, when they bypass us, they'll be fully functional and self-sufficient.

We will usually start showing up at quarter-to-the-hour and try to start the event on-time, save in unusual circumstances where we'll set a deadline of quarter-past-the-hour.

*****
But I don't wanna do it on Freedom!

That's fine! There are other groups looking to do this same thing on other servers.

Here's a link to the group which is going to be running on Liberty.

What about if Monday night or 9 PM isn't good for me?

Well, we're now running another day on Friday evenings starting at 7 PM Eastern. Details can be found here!

You're getting screenshots? Where can I see them?

Okay here's the link to the main gallery. Newest stuff is always last page. Just click on the images for the full sized versions. Warning! 1920x1080!

Just letting people know, barring disaster, this is still on for this evening.

This may be a dumb question, but I didn't see it referenced in the topic, is this red or blue side?

I was relieved of my previous position for telling the truth. Now I make my living translating the lies of other men.

It's blue.

Though it would be neat to do it with both ATs sometime. Maybe meet in Ouro or RWZ, though the latter really limits the mission selection.

I personally thing this would be easier on people if there was a distiinct place we met, like Tanker Tuesday's always meet on the wall infront of KR's IP gate.

If we included Corruptors, would we be able to team and then head out separate ways to get to other combo-zones.

Also, there is an AE in RWZ, though I like "real" content.

Ah. I KNEW I forgot something.

Mea culpa.

It's a red-side event.

Success

The image above hyperlinks to the picture gallery.

I'd like to thank:

  • Zero Decay
  • Scorched Remains
  • Kaylee Foxtrot
  • Greased Wheels
  • Hell Diation
A good time was had by all with much butt-kickery. XP, Inf, and merits fell from the sky like the craziest hailstorm you ever heard of.

Reports from the machine shop expect the Clockwork King to make a full recovery (once they get every part of him unwelded from every other part).

We had a few disconnect problems, but finished in good order in 2:12. No ghosting save for the final mission, plus the time to fight Babbage.

Of the six who started only Hell wasn't able to complete. He crashed out during the first mission and never came back.

The most powerful team made of "normal" toons I've ever been on.

I loved how we casually killed Babbage, just the five of us, because it was right next to our mission.

Next week we should do Posi before it goes away. I'll bring my ghosting shoes...or...

1. Since the old Posi is going away, should I actually experience it w/o ghosting?
2. And is it really going away, if it's going to be in Ouro flashbacks, then it's not such a big deal...

It's available in Ouro.

And by next week the "old" Posi will have already been replaced with the new version. The new version goes live tomorrow with the launch of I17.

It'll be available in Ouro from what I understand.

And we've run it before. No ghosting. Took us a little over 2 hours just doing "kill everything in front of us".

You saw how fast we went last night. Throw a full team at a Posi and it gets positively ridiculous.

I know this can be a lot of fun. I remember the days we had an entire SG of F-Rads. On our 8 man groups we tried to have a person with Grp Fly and Team Teleport. We would just TP on top of a Grp and they would melt in place.

Just ran it tonight with minimal ghosting. Feh, Ouroboros can keep it. The wait-to-be-tp version is better than the actually normal play version.

I really hope the new Posi doesn't have you waiting at the train wondering where to go so you can wait until the scounts find the target and tp you.

An extreme success! (as all the previous ones have been!)

I am glad that I talked my friend "Scorched" into making a fire/rad! Though I need some advice (for him) regarding his build order (with the super team in mind)

Any links or suggestions?

Okay, a teaming Fire/Rad build has lots of space.

Recommended Powers
1: Char
1: Radiant Aura
2: Fire Cages
4: Accelerate Metabolism (3-slot for recharge ASAP)
8: Hot Feet
12: Flashfire
28: Choking Cloud
32: Fire Imps

Other nice things to have:

Optional Powers
Radiation Infection (Debuffs to-hit and defense)
Enervating Field (Debuffs damage and damage resistance)
Cinders (AoE Hold)
Stamina
Mutation (For the rare occasions when someone faceplants so they can avoid slowing you down with a hospital run)

Post has a "how's my build look" thread up in the controller section and Local Man provided a decent breakdown of power selections there.

It's tonight. I assume we'll meet on the dirt hill in Talos at 8 central.

What's the Freakolympics? I haven't heard anyone mention it in a while and I know it has to to with Oro.

If we decide to do one of the five big TFs, KF is level 26. If we did Sister P, that's the same that the team that meets on Thursdays [which includes me] is doing also. I did duplicate Synapse TF's last week. Though oddly, they felt totally different with all fire/rad and then a normal balance team.

It's a great story arc you can run through Ouro for levels 25+. Lots of freaks, and great maps.

I gave my PC a complete facelift..well and a "guts-lift" as well. So much fun upgrading! The only bad thing is re-installing CoH! All of the various updates are taking forever!

((Editted to add)

I might not be able to make the fire/rad goodness tonight (hoping to though)

And another successful run tonight!

Again, full gallery available here.

I'd like to thank everyone who was able to make it out tonight.

And I'd especially like to thank Bionic Flea for letting us co-opt his missions with Keith Nance and Jenni Adair. Loads of fun. Just wish the cloneage was dupes of everyone on the team instead of just Flea himself.

We ran Keith at +0x0 and it was like using a tacnuke to disperse a mob. Quote for the night happened in the first mission after we melted down an entire mob including Freak tanks in about 3 seconds.

Fork in Microwave: I'd heard stories but jeeze!

Yet another Fire/Rad fanatic in the making!

I thought the quote from Fork was, "I had heard stories...but I had no idea."

Frankly, with six fire/rads, even low level, all missions are farms.

Hey guys.

Sorry to spring this on you so late. I'm going to be unable to attend Fire/Rads this weekend. I have a project at work that's going to be having me do the late-late-late thing on Monday (it got delayed and has to be in place and functional Tuesday morning).

If you guys still want to meet and run that's perfectly cool I was planning on doing at least half of the new Posi (if not the whole thing).

Again, my apologies and I'll definitely be back here NEXT monday (05/17/10).

I'm kinda repeating what I said on the Controller Forum...

That's cool, we'll run the new Posi if we get someone at the right lev showing up. I'll still be able to ghost with the powers only to 20 and have my char, hot feet, flash, cages, at that lev.

If not, if anyone has a TF they want to do or anything else specific like the time we hunted Warwolves for the Atlas thing.

We could keep it casual with Talos Radio mishs. We'd be able to change the diff so we weren't nearly at a full run as we plowed through enemies like we tend to do on TFs.

See you on the Talos dirt hill at 8p.

Posi: Rule of Three in 54 minutes.

Five Frads and a Mrad, he's the big one.

We killed the dopplegangers in about four seconds, after we got over our fear of approaching them.

No ghosting, we killed everything.

Next week, dirt hill, Talos, 8 central.
