Note: I have another Fire/Rad in the works now. This one will not be level-locked and will be used to get us access to higher-level TFs.

I'm not going to be making it tomorrow. I was really looking forward to it since it sounds, from the buzz here, that it'd be the first time we had to make multiple teams.

See ya next week though.

Sorry you can't make it Post. I'll see you next week though.

Don't worry, we'll brand your name on some unsuspecting thug's backside just so they don't forget who you are.

Okay, we did not one, but TWO taskforces this week.
We had a full 8-man team and we just whupped a..butt!

Posi 1:

We finished in 44 minutes and change. Yeah, slow. We'll try to get it done faster next time.

And the shadow us'es (STATION!)? They were WIMPS! Their butts were kicked eight ways to Sunday. VERY underwhelming.

Posi 2:

Here we were Taskforce Tunguska (see BIG BOOM).
And yes, Doc Vahz DEFINITELY felt the boom.
We ran about 3 minutes over the 1 hour time limit I'd set on both TFs.
I attribute this mostly to some VERY long load times in a couple of instances and only one DC through the entire run.

You can find all the pics HERE.

I'd like to thank:

  • Greased Wheels
  • Zero Decay
  • Fork in Microwave
  • Kitty Combusion
  • Therm O'Dynamic
  • Main-Sequence and
  • Hadesmord

And, as promised, I've built a separate Fire/Rad for higher level taskforces.

Introducing Vortex Core.

On the flip side, much fun was had by all and many, many bad guys were melted down into scrap. Alone, I pulled 2-3/4 levels and nine badges.

I have just built a fire/rad troller (frist one). Have several fire/kins and ill/rads so I get the powersets and cannot wait to see how a team of fire/rad masters tears it up. I would like to join next session.

Note: Please note that you are not necessarily required to resist the urge to cackle insanely for the first few missions while bad guys go up in smoke faster than you can track them.

I'm missing this week too. Signed up for Luna's ITFaganza [4 teams] that night. I'm hoping this will get my katana/wp to 50. [She's 48.]

Post. Have fun.

Okay guys. This evening we'll likely be doing the Sister Psyche TF.
If, however, get have more lowbie characters, we'll do a Synapse. HOWEVER, we're going to crank the difficulty a bit (what's life without a bit of challenge?)

If we wind up pulling enough people to man two teams, we can split them up by level between two separate TFs. I know there's a few out there who haven't gotten the new Posi runs in yet.

Again, the hill in Talos. See you there.

This week. On Fire/Rads!

I have to report we didn't have a successful team.

We had TWO! We had almost a dozen people show up. So, we separated out between lower level from upper level.

Epoxy Man took the higher level group and ran through a couple missions, then took off on a Citadel with 6 players.

The lower level group went in and slapped down the Clockwork King and his army of (as per Sister Flame) "Clicky Clacks" and made them beg for the oil can.

Two small oopsies. First, I got a bit over-anxious, and summoned the other team to fight Babbage a mission too early.

Okay! I admit it! I was dropped on my head (extensively!) as a child!

So we went in and mowed down the mission in question and came back out to boot Babbage booty but good!

Oopsie #2. Apparently Babbage has either been failing to spawn, or running afoul of some nearby drones. Because he never showed.

So, on to the finish. We lost one guy to him due to early aggro. We resurrected him and proceeded to make Clocky pay for his misdeeds (in large denominations). We finished in a time of 2:24 (with the Silver timer on us).

As always, more screenshots are available in my gallery, as linked above in this thread.

Awaiting pictures from the captain of the Citadel team.

Known players from Team Synapse (Settings: +0/x8):
  • Thermal Hazard
  • Fork in Microwave
  • Vortex Core
  • Crimson Image
  • Happy Scorch
Known players from Team Citadel
  • Zero Decay
  • Greased Wheels
  • Therm O'Dynamic
  • Main Sequence
  • Rubeus
  • Radiant Hestia
Please forgive me, I don't normally run with chat logging on or I'd have all the names.

Note to self: TURN ON CHAT LOGGING DOOFUS!

Really sad I missed it. The F/Rad is one of my favorite nights.

Proud of us for having two teams. We're getting like Tanker Tuesdays, but with a better AT and powersets. XD

A very successful night of fire/rad goodness!! (we did have 12 fire/rads show up!!)

First, i shall apologize to the Citadel team (aka "Team 2"). I am a little out of practice in leading a team and hope that everyone had fun.

Second, I can't find the screen shots! I thought there was a folder where they went, the search will continue! Until then I'll attempt to give a run down on the "goodness!"

We started off in Talos (with both teams):

Zero Decay (me)
Rubeus
Greased Wheels (Mid-level crisis rocks!!)
Scorched Remains
Radiant Hestia
Therm O'Dynamic
Main-Sequence

with the intention of running a Sister Psyche. That plan was quickly scrapped since there were level issues; so we decided on running a Citadel Task Force instead!

Whoops!

We all needed to be level 25+. So the night started off with a quick "practice" run for the fire/rad squad in order to get everyone to the min level! (that took longer than i predicted, so we got a much later start)

We finally got rolling close to 9pm CST (dangerously close to my self imposed sleepy time, but this is fire/rad night! everyone loves to work with less sleep, right?)

The task force took 2 hours and 3 minutes with a few deaths sprinkled in as well as a DC or two.

((Hyper, it was funny to read that you called me Epoxy Man! He's my first toon (Earth/Rad) though he's been collecting dust lately))

It was a fun night, couldnt have done it without the great job organizing things here on this end. Hyper, you are the bomb! (sort of neutron bomb on Monday nights at least!!)

Next Monday might be tough for me to make. It depends on when I get back into town. I will gladly accept the mantle of leading a team in the future!

((Editted to add))

Almost forgot: I can go a long time without seeing another one of those Council maps!

Also,

Since next Monday IS a holiday, I'll be in a lot earlier that night than normal.

After about 2PM Central, I'll be available. So if we have any lowbies come along and need some assistance getting into level range, gimme a yell and let me know.

Yeah, really sucks for someone who's had their movement speed buffed to the point where they're WALKING at superspeed...

"Okay, we're on the map, AM up! Let's...Where'd Hyper go?"
"I'm lodged in a wall!"
*DEAD*
"Just behind the AV at the extreme far end of the map..."
"OOH!" *Cringe*

Allrighty then!

We had a fairly productive night tonight (amazing what a few extra hours will do).

Myself, Main-Sequence, and Therm O'Dynamic were in early (around 6PM Central). We ran a quickie radio mission to see how we'd handle +1x4 with bosses. We wiped the floor with them.

About this time, HellJumper signed on and he'd been looking to pull a Positron. So we got Posi 1 knocked out at +1x6. Task Force Fusion. How appropriate!

We did okay. Took the ambushes just fine. Made the mobs just inside City Hall's doors our [BLEEP!]. Then got our collective hiney kicked by our doubles. Blind SUCKS! Probably need to rebuild Trolla so Tactics comes in a bit sooner.

We finally managed to beat them down and annihilated the last mob.

And if Azuria loses anything else while we're logged off TOUGH [BLEEP!]!

  • Main-Sequence
  • Flamin' Trolla
  • Hell Diation
  • Therm O'Dynamic

Anyhow, at that point, Hell had to log. But we were able to pick up Swagga for a quickie Radio before he had to go.

  • Flamin' Trolla
  • Swagga
  • Therm O'Dynamic
  • Main-Sequence

At that point, we were butting up against the regular Fire/Rads meeting time.

We actually held off until nearly quarter to the hour before starting just in case we had stragglers. At that point, we had a full team and no extras in sight.

And we did Sister Psyche.
And we did Sister Psyche.
And we..did..Sister Psyche.

A combination of a couple dumb mistakes on my part and some truly atrocious zone loading times turned what should have been a 60-90 minute TF into a 2 hour and 38 minute trial.

Everyone was really good natured about it. And I'd like to thank them for that. I'm sure the urge to grab me and shake me (while trying to simultaneously beat me about the head and shoulders with a stun baton) was fierce at times.

Honestly, I was getting 3+ minute zone loads. On every...freaking...zone...

Yet EVERYONE stuck with it. And we stomped a mud puddle into Clamor's backside with a quickness. My comment. "Uh...what AV?" She literally got like one attack off and then spent the rest of her minute or so of life choking to death.

  • Kaylee Foxtrot
  • Greased Wheels
  • Nuclear Fyre
  • Flamin' Trolla
  • Riches
  • Rubeus
  • Main-Sequence
  • Therm O'Dynamic

Swagga was able to return later as we were doing the SPTF. Unfortunately we weren't able to hook back up with him again. He was able to go pick up a team of his own (not all Fire/Rads, but we won't hold that against them...will we?)

As always, the main gallery of our exploits is here (flip to the last page or two to see the most current screenies).

As to the rest of you guys who posted either in the Controller thread or the Freedom thread. Thank you for showing interest and sorry we weren't able to team up with you this week. But don't let it discourage you. We'll be back again next week!

And since this thread is getting a bit longer, I'll repost the specifics of the Superteam event.

  • Title: Freedom Fire/Rads
  • Server: Freedom (Well duh?)
  • Meeting Location: The Hill in Talos Island
  • Time: 9 PM Eastern/8 PM Central/7 PM Mountain/6 PM Pacific
  • Host SG: Mid-Level Crisis
  • Host: Hyperstrike (Usually.)
  • Contact Info: @Hyperstrike1
  • Alternate Info Venue: The TheMarket global channel.
  • Preferred AT/Powerset: Fire Control/Radiation Emission Controller
  • Policy For Non-Preferred AT/Powerset: Will we accept other controller types? Depends on how loaded the team(s) become. Fire/Rads always get preference. If you want to attend with something OTHER than a Fire/Rad Controller, it should be a Controller and should have at least one of preferred powersets.
  • Who is welcome?: Anyone who shows up sporting the appropriate AT/Powerset.
On the few occasions when I'm unable to attend, others in the group can and do pick up the ball and run with it.

Thanks again to everyone who showed up tonight (or tried to).

Hi all! I have a fire/rad that might like to try this. He's only an 8 tho' I could use the tips on playing them.

One of the big things. Make sure to slot for hold, stun, and disorient in your various attacks. Damage is important. But HotFeet is your big attack (believe it or not). Drop a Char on an enemy and he can't move, then get right up on him and let HotFeet cook him.

If you chance across a -KB IO, craft and use it.

Eight is fine. Just make sure you have your Hot Feet, Char and Fire Cages. That's what we use 80% of the time anyhow.

If you level to twelve, run to a trainer and get Flashfire. If we're stacking our AMs on each other, you shouldn't have a problem with endurance running unslotted, unless you die while everyone is recharging.

And, an aside here, we're getting really sloppy with the AM since we're plowing through everything. Often usually I only had three or four stacked, which while a dream to many, I've seen us be conservative and always stack the full 8.

That said, I aggroed some crap this last time just by accidentally shooting cages or char into a spawn and, if we were a lesser team we would have gotten wiped.

This monday I should get my imps. Woooo.
Unless I take her out before then. I love the Frad team, but I'm really a scrapper.

Good tips. I'll try and get to 12 before next Monday.

Also, 12 gets you into DO range. While if we do a set of Positrons, you'll outlevel them disgustingly fast, they'll make things enormously easier.

Also, up-thread, I noted a basic build guideline. There's lots of room in there to specialize however you want, and a couple suggestions as to things that could be helpful.

Big thing is to three-slot AM as soon as possible. Slotting out Hot-Feet quickly helps too.

I got a toon (field crafter) on Liberty who can cheaply craft Common I/O's so I will just slot some level 15 IO's. I'll take a look at the build notes and see what I can still do.

Okay, just a quick blurb. Will fill in more tomorrow.

14 people! Two teams again tonight! Lotsa new faces!

Team 1 ran Posi2. We had a lot of new faces and I should have been a bit more explicit in my instructions. As such, we had a fair number of faceplants. All pretty much my fault and I'll try to do a bit better next time.

However, Doc V spent pretty much his entire existence of the fight choking and burning. And levels dropping all over the place on people.

  • Match Head
  • Dreamglass
  • Van Pyros.
  • Gamma-Pyre Dan
  • Vortex Core
  • Hell Diation
  • Kaylee Foxtrot

From what I understand, the Moonfire TF went off without a hitch! Thanks to Therm O'Dynamic for leading! Everyone I talked to on that team said it was a very smooth experience.

  • Therm O'Dynamic
  • Main-Sequence
  • Zero Decay
  • Greased Wheels
  • Ashlar
  • Crimson Image
  • Erif Noitaidar
Afterwards, a few people from each team reconstituted for one last mission and went after Burkholder for Jenni Adair. VERY fast mission.

I want to thank everyone who showed tonight! Good work and it just keeps getting better. So I hope to see all of you again!
