  1. AS that just critted...followed by a placate.

I wish the Dev team all the best and am sorry to hear they are now without jobs. I wish them all the best finding new homes.

    Thanks all.
  2. Yeah Stone could have a good play with electric. DM is still my first pick for doing the impossible but Stone does have that, "I am the Tank now Kneel before me" feel to it...and if you don't kneel I will bounce you around like a childs toy
  3. I absolutely dislike staff on tanks. I have one with all accolades, incarnates,IOs and still dislike it. It is as frustrating to play as energy melee for me. The forms are neat but honestly don't make up for lack of single target dmg (I know AOE is okay). I would take titan over staff any day of the week. I know we are talking tankiest...but nothing except a developer buff for staff on tanks could ever make me play that toon again. He sits in a parking lot until that happens. YMMV
  4. Hey Sanc,

Question for you. Have you considered dropping maneuvers for travel power? You could grab 2 BOTZ to cap ranged then take that 3rd slot to add to proc another attack or whatever? Just a thought. You would have to sub focused accuracy for tactics though at higher end cost. Might not be worth it to you.
  5. Toughness- Dark Melee (I have one and it is my primary tank). This is a do anything tank but limited on AOE obviously which may not appeal to some.

My second favorite for aoe dmg is Elec/Titan. I really enjoy playing this tank and has some decent mitigation.
  6. Yes, I made and deleted one. While I like SR, I don't love it on tanks. Maybe with the new resistance IO bonuses in i24, I will like it better. My replacement tank was Elec/TW and I really love that one. If you are open to a different primary, I might suggest Electric instead of SR.
  7. Hi,

I assume you meant War Mace / Sheild. However, I might suggest you let people know what you are looking for. (i.e. incarnate defense cap or whatever else the priority is). Not knowing that I made a couple changes without remaking your entire build. I personally would want a little more s/l resistance but you did not have much so I assumed you were okay with that so I did not add much. Also, it looked like you were trying to fix an endurance issue by taking body mastery pool, so I tried to get you more recovery. Finally, I like recharge and accuracy so tried to get you more of both. I did use 2 purple sets but figured that since you had a PVP IO in the build it would be okay. There is a non purples set you can grab for both that give lower recharge but will still work.

Hope you find an idea or two in here that helps. Good luck-

    features:
More s/l resistance (still not much though)
    More recovery 3.55 vs 3.2
    25% more recharge
    20% more accuracy

    trade-offs
while still capped to defense, it is a little lower
slightly less regen (however only 3hp/sec less)

  13. I got my def values for s/l/n/e/f/c all back to def cap but now I have to decide if a little less recharge, dmg, and accuracy is worth it. I can be at 45% s/l and 42% to all else with a bit better recharge, dmg and accuracy...I might go that route in the end.
  14. Hopeling- I really appreciate your responses. Everytime you post, I learn that helps me plan this build.

If you think of any other considerations for a build, please let me know.

    Thanks!
  15. With evolving armor off, I am at 45.5% to s/l/n/e/f/c. I guess I will wait and see how this pans out.
  16. Let me make sure I am looking at this right then-

    1. If I am at 48% to s/l then that remains unchanged even with mids bug.

    2. My f/c/n/e are also at 48% but really have 42.04% factoring in defense correction above. So basically, I will have to find another 6%ish to get myself back up to where I was...great! XP
  17. Hi- Basically, I want the latest drivers for other games and programs but I get terrible results with COH. Even if I turn the graphics way down it still plays very rough. I really don't want to roll back to an older driver if I don't have to. Any suggestions?

    - I also noticed my graphics scores in Windows evaluator went from 7.9 to 7.2 with newer drivers. Yes I know it is not the best benchmarking tool but I am wondering if this driver is the issue. From doing a little web searching it seems like WOW players, WOT players and etc.. are seeing massive FPS drops with this new driver.

    - As a temporary fix, I rolled back to 296.10 driver and Windows score is back up to 7.9 and game runs okay. I really do want to use the new drivers though.

  18. Hi All,

First off- yes I have the latest Mids. Second- I do know that Mids will probably update once the set is finalized.

I am trying to figure out the Mids bug with bio armor on scrappers (maybe other ATs as well). I thought I had my mids build all worked out until a friend discovered that It was adding at least 2 of the adaptation states all the time (simultaneously)...even when you did not pick the power.

From what I could tell, damage for example was overstated by 27%ish even without offensive toggled. If you don't belive me compare to primary attacks dmg values with different secondary powers...even before you slot in adaptation powr. It appears that efficiency is granting endurance reduction without it toggled. Now for the big question, how much defense is it erroneously granting in combat attributes or are those numbers okay?

If I am missing something, please let me know.

    Thanks.
  19. Rather than help you find a home for those remaining slots, I think you are missing several things...underslotted resistance, not slotting damage in attacks, force feedback set will send your baddies flying as you have it slotted and so on.

This is what I would do personally. I made this build and never brought the toon out of the 20s. My elec/dm is my longtime favorite so I am familiar with making a tough electric armor toon. I don't like slotting to positions unelss shield (etc...) so this approach is different. This could be reworked and improved further. Also, adding Melee Hybrid to this puts you near granite levels of resistance to most areas and beyond with Psi. Oh and I take reactive, rebirth for a build like this. Your call at the end of the day...

    - FYI, I am aware I skipped dmg aura which will drive some folks crazy. I normally take that and may rebuild to pick it up should I finish the toon.

    Good luck-

  20. I collect tanks. In order for me to ever make another Stone (my first was stone/EM...yikes), it would have to be very fun to play to make up for penalties to recharge and dmg while in Granite. While I love DM and my lead elec/dm do anything tank is my favorite of all, I would go another route unless you simply want to be even tougher.

For me, I like Fire melee with stone. Give that a shot and run a few DFBs to see how you like Fire Melee.

    GL
  21. As a combo, YES. I have solod AVs but GMs run out of tar patch and are a little more tricky than running a toggle base rad. In my opinion, the key for this combo is recharge which is almost always expensive. I have mine capped to s/l/n/e/f/c and all 3 def positions with 75% s/l resist, perma hasten, perma fade, perma soul absorption, double stacked tar patch, perma indom will for status protection and so on. As mine is built, I can pretty much do anything including farm with ease but what fun is farming. My pylon time is 54 seconds on first attempt (did use lore) so dps is good enough. I am sure I could get that down lower if I really tried. Only did it once out of curiousity.

As a budget build, things get tricker and you will have to make compromises. I would aim for s/l def cap, solid resistance to s/l and as much recharge as you can afford.

    Good luck.
  22. I have mids with bio-armor and before I waste time on planning my next brute, I wanted to know what aspect got nerfed from mids. Words I have read to describe the nerf are "huge" and "massive" nerf.

If someone could kindly point me to the thread with the nerf details, I would appreciate it. I can find threads with people alluding to it but no specific details. Maybe I am blind...

    Thanks-
  23. ORACLE

    Electric Armor?

I am in the tank version of electric armor fan club for sure.

I love the fact that you can cap s/l resist like invuln and cap energy resist too. Not only that but getting most other reisist to 64%ish is good in my book (minus toxic). These numbers are prior to ATO proc which easily pushes you even further along.

Combine that with capped s/l defense, energy of around 32.5%, nearly 400% regen and endless endurance and this armor can do most anything including the psi that shreds invulns.

I guess I might not love my tank as much if I started seeing everyone else with one so I guess I should be happy
  24. Well-

I have T4 Assault on my fire/dark controller. I discovered early on that the assault buff does nothing for any of my pets...not lore or my imps/dark servant. It seems to only affect the hero/villain (non-pet). Caveat- I am seeing the fact that the buffs don't work by looking at my pet window. My ageless, agility, and reactive all show along with my other buffs but Assault does not under any circumstance.

As a fire primary I am still glad I went with it though b/c the damage boost on my fire attacks is very healthy. On an ill/rad I would probably not go the assault route. YMMV. I would need to think about which one to go with..I know support does affect pets but not sure about others.
