At least three of those faceplants were totally my fault for being impatient and wanting to rush in before Flashfires was recharged.

And one of the issues with uncoordinated AM stacking was my using two common IOs and an SO Recharge in AM. I didn't realize it but the SO was toast before we even started.

When we rocked, we rocked hard. When we didn't, someone threw out Mutation. Oh, and we all got lost at the dam. Yay for Assemble the Team.

Yeah it seemed to me that the faceplants were mainly people who got seperated from the group.

I know the only death I had was beacause I attacked right when you went left. My fault, because I am used to leading, for not sticking with the leader, not yours.

I did notice a few auto fires (mea Culpa) that drew aggro before we were quite ready but those worked out ok for the most part.

Also, with AM stacked, you really have to be careful with movement. It is very easy to overshoot the mark and end in a world of hurt. The fact that it isn't constant means you should always check before moving to see if it be fast or slow.

Still, I had a great time and made 4 levels. I am not sure how much this experience will help with my other toon who is on a mixed team though. There won't be AM stacking or multiple controls to make overpower automatic and I suspect Radiation Infection and Enervating Field to get more of a work out.

Yeah. This was the main problem.

As I'm leading off, I expect a few deaths on my part. Normally because I'll draw an alpha before all the heals can save me. It happens and I'm not chuffed by personal debt.

Yeah. Again, it happens. As you play more with the group, the rhythm of the party's combat interactions gets a bit easier to read. We had a bunch of "new" people in the group and that makes it a bit awkward for all involved. Overall though , it was a very not-bad run.

Autofires, especially when the team is hopped up on multiple AMs and killing stuff faster than they can push buttons, are par for the course too. And, for the most part, it wasn't like we couldn't handle it.

Misfire: Oops!
Rest of the team: MORE TINDER!

One thing I actually prefer to do is target an enemy, then hit F to follow him. This way I'm not trying to shaky-hand-steer my way to him.

Yes they will. However, the basic premise of Stun/Immob/Hold, then run in and let Hot Feet and Choking Cloud do their thing still holds pretty true. Even when not on a superteam.

It took me a while to get into a rhythm with my attacks so I didn't spam myself dry. Usually by the time you get Shockwave slotted out, you're usually a lot more confident in your abilities.

Ideally, as a team we should have half of us starting out with fire cages and the other half doing Shockwave. This way the groups get immobilized and stunned simultaneously. Ideally everyone should be stunned and immobed. But generally half or more have both effects happen, and the remaining quarters have one or the other.

Also, on teams, I normally crank the difficulty up a bit more. We were running with 7 guys at +0x8. Nothing horrendous. If it's a team full of regulars, we'll do +2 or +3. And as some of you guys get more confident, I'll bump the diff up there too.

And yeah, who needs PL when you have a team full of Fire/Rads?

Hyperstrike's weekly gloat.

Yes! Again, we came. We saw. We even heard (Clamor!). Then we melted her scrawny butt down for scrap metal!

We had another successful run again this weekend. My apologies to BLA for making room for another Fire/Rad. I'll try to make it up to you.

One Sister Psyche down and out!

As you can see, I've modded one of my costume slots to provide a nice, bright, easily visible costume for people to use. It worked out fairly well. We didn't QUITE make the time limit set. But that was mostly because we were taking things fairly easily during the initial missions.

Also, my zone load times are positively ATROCIOUS at times with my 4G wireless service. I need to put in a trouble ticket for my local tower.

All in all though, we had a nice smooth run. We had one guy who didn't quite get the meaning of "stay safe" in one mission and decided to jump the boss mob all by his lonesome. But worry not! We scraped him up, stuck him in a bread mold, and cooked him back into some semblance of shape.

Our intrepid doers of derring-do this week were:

  • Ashlar (Fire/Rad...DUH!)
  • Zorinna (Fire/Rad...DOUBLE DUH!)
  • Scorched Remains (Fire..OH YOU GET THE IDEA!)
  • Vortex Core
  • Hot.Stuff
  • Gamma-Pyre Dan
  • Greased Wheels
  • Zero Decay
I believe everyone save Zero Decay gained a level. Though he said he's just 1 XP away from his next (L51).

And I have good news. I wasn't sure I was going to make it next week or if I was going to be on a plane to Atlanta to drive a truck full of product and booth supplies back to Columbus.

Well. Now I know. My stuff will be waiting on me in Columbus. So I'll definitely be there for Fire/Rads next week.

The week after, I may be a BIT toasty from the con. But, barring something dumb (like passing out), I'll be there.

Again, I'd like to thank everyone again for coming out. As always, it's a blast (pun most intentional)!

Tonight, I'd prefer the upper team to do something Citadel level or up. I've got my imps now and would love to have them around. Actually, I'd love to see 24 imps running around.

Something between Citadel and Mender Lazarus from this page http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Task_Forces

Finally made one this week! Awesome time, except for the never-ending caves.

It was a blast as usual! Looking forward to the next one!

Excellent time on the Citadel tonight.
And yes. AMx7 is somewhat less fun in those damn caves...

Still, Vandal choked to death. Poor slob!

I'd like to thank Riches for taking over leadership last night. I've got about six-hundred-gazillion things running through that lump of dead meat I'm foisting off as my brain. Convention season is upon me and I'm finding my luck is as usual (see "If it wasn't for bad luck"). $400 brake repair 3 days before the con...

Needless to say I'm glad I wasn't leading. It'd have been a mess.

I'd like to thank everyone who showed tonight.

  • Zorinna
  • Vortex Core
  • Kaylee Foxtrot
  • Duskchar
  • Helon
  • Riches
  • Greased Wheels
And now Vortex has imps of her own (the blue/green boogers in the picture).

And as if someone was trying to tell me something. I got a drop of a Pet +Defense Aura proc.

Loads of fun. Hopefully I'll be back, relaxed, and rested for next week.

If not, I'll post as soon as I stop bouncing off whatever rubber room they chuck me into.

Geez, those damn damn caves.

I've made a note to myself, mental and otherwise, that Citadel is NOTHING BUT CAVES.

I get lost in caves. I ran with the imps. Usually Helon's imps, as he was just slightly less lame than me at the caves.

At least they weren't blue.

Reading this thread makes me want to make a Fire/Rad Controller, but I already have 5 or 6 Controllers I took to 50 and shelved, and I'm working on another 3-4 toons that will hit 50 soon.

Me, playing Riches, pinballing my way through one of the large chambers, getting stuck in a small "building" and having to pull up my map to see where I ended up, only to see Kaylee Foxtrot not that far behind me, and her calling out "how do I get out of here?". Made me feel better about myself.

I have 3 level 50 'trollers myself, but this one is a little different. Many of us cap our levelling off at 33, to supply the mid range demand. I used to think level 33 was handicapped, especially when it came to IO sets, but my character does quite well. Come join the experiment!

I was also squawking for someone to TP me out of that God-forsaken room. I know at least one of you has Rec Friend. Hmmph.

These randomly generated caves, and offices too, need to have a limit to how much random they can dump in one spot.

And as for making one, yeah, make one. Usually we have at least one toon that's sub-10 show up. Last night was very sparse. I'm assuming because summer is really here and, at least where I live, when the sun gets down or close to it, you can actually go outside without bursting into flame.

I'm skipping this upcoming Monday to do the Faathim TF with my 50 scrapper. It's one of the few she lacks.

Okay, was REALLY late getting back from Origins today.
Got back on-time for Fire/Rads, but was VERY burnt out (6 days into a 4 day con? Yeah!)

Anyhoo, we had 9 people show for Fire/Rads tonight. Rather than kick one of them to the curb, I opted to sit out of the buttkickery tonight and catch up on my sleep.

Thanks for being understanding guys. And lemme know how it went!

I JUST got home.. so much for my hope for "almost making it". I actually used the words "fire rad night" and "important" (she didnt buy it). That went over like a fart in church. Yet I survived!! (though i still missed the fire/rad goodness).

Hopefully next week I will be in town and able to make it!

Until then, Nuke 'em til they glow, then complain that your target was dead before you could attack them!!!

Well, probably not our finest hour. There is usually a celebratory group shot to go with the post but doesn't seem worth posting, considering how it ended.

As Hype said we had a good showing and he bowed out to make room for someone else. I ended up running it again. We had:

• Riches
• Therm O’Dynamic
• Nuclear Fyre
• Hot.Stuff
• Zorinna
• Greased Wheel
• Main-Sequence
• Gamma-Pyre Dan

Before we started we happened to run into a group struggling with their own Babbage spawn so we jumped in to lend a hand, and earn a quick 2 merits.

It ran mostly smooth, but during one of the defeat-alls we couldn't locate the last Clockwork (he seemed stuck in the geometry) and had to petition for help. Took only about 10 minutes but it felt longer as we were worried we'd have to give up. We completed it in 2 hours and 45 minutes, set at plus 2 levels.

Where it turned sour is during the last portion of the last mission, when we lost a player. He apparently DC'd before we cleared the final room. I don't think any of the rest of us realized it, and he never dropped from the team until after a few minutes after we had exited. I was still hanging around when he came back on. And found out that GP Dan missed out on the TF reward.

On behalf of the team, I apologize, Dan. Had we noticed you were not with us we would have waited. I've missed out on rewards on TF's, and it doesn't feel good.

Really sorry I missed it, but having ten would also be an odd number [even number, but two teams of five is awkward.]

This next week, I'm thinking maybe have a team that runs contact missions. I haven't run a single one on my Frad and I'm not sure if she's even done the Midnighter's arc. And I've really never been one to do diddly from a contact, it's all TF and Radio with me usually.

You shoulda posted the picture.

Thanks Tidbit, I appreciate the sympathy, but none of you have any reason to apologize or anything close to it. You were all fantastic and a blast! Yeah, I was very frustrated about it, but it's only a game . Real life has enough problems without adding to it. I do apologize about this post. It's only the second post I've ever done on CoH Forums but it's worth it to thank all of you for being so great.

Also, now that I think about it...I think the merits are great, but just being able to hang out with a group of fun people for a couple hours is of more value than the merits. Again, thanks Tidbit, Hyperstrike, and everyone!

As the end of taskforce picture was incomplete since GP Dan got sucked into a cross dimensional vortex or something for a bit, I'll post a couple shots from earlier that shows the whole team still.

Babbage is out for the count:

Andthe normal group huddle as we mass buff with AM, best pic for the night I had that showed all our names, exept for Main-Sequence's as I had my own turned off by default.

All those hotfeet going, the floor was probably a puddle of molten goo there.

You're entirely welcome! Get your Fire/Rad built up and take a couple practice runs with him in lowbie missions to appreciate how nice he is solo.

And once you team, don't drink anything. The urge to cackle insanely at how fast stuff dies will cause you to choke.
