There is also one of these long range teleport doors in the little shack near the entrance to Atlas Park in the Hollows

Guess I'm joining the list of the flashing victims. Updated drivers. ect... blah blah. It's gotten pretty bad. I actually started avoiding playing because it just irritated me so. Turning down my resolution didn't help. I also have several friends suffering from the same issue. I seriously hope they fix it soon!

Quote:Fixed that for you.
For the record the devs are not responsible for player incompetence.
Let's be honest. Not all archetypes are created equal. Clearly a group of defenders isn't necessarily going to have the same impact as a team of tanks, now would it? That doesn't signify player incompetence. And truthfully, scaling a team's dynamic by size hasn't really been an issue in the past. Considering the extraordinary number of random missions floating around this game that can accommodate various numbers of players, it's kind of hard to say that a four man mini/max limit was an absolute necessity. -
Looks fantastic! How did she get the "disco laser lights" coming down from the ceiling in the 7th picture? I can't find a single light fixture that gives that effect.

Almost 2 here. Just hopped on. I'm not devastated but I kind of expected to see the Vanguard rewards. Don't they typically activate this type of reward during maintenance?

That's just not right that they discriminated against some servers. My home is Guardian, and I couldn't get into PD1 because it was full. Now don't tell me those were all people who focus exclusively on Guardian, because I could tell from the dialog in pd2 that many, many frequent virtue and Freedom. By the devs not coming to pd2 on what they call the "lower population servers", even though last time I'd heard Guardian was the third highest populated, and this info could be erroneous, just shows no respect to those players who pay every month like everyone on the higher population servers do. I realize it's just a contest, or a give away, but that is hardly fair at all.

Able to get back in now. LOL Now I'm afraid to log out...

Sadly, I remember this happening not too long ago. I really wish someone could pul their heads out from wherever, so this would stop occurring.

Quote:Yeah, I'm having the same issue. Keeps re-patching and No server responseWell, I can at least verify that you're not the only one with this problem. I'm getting the same thing. I login, choose any server, and then get a message that it cannot contact the server.
I have no idea what the problem is, but it's not only you. -
Quote:I'd have to say that this probably isn't the game for you if that's how you feel. This is a game of storylines and adventure. Honestly, what real entertainment are you getting out of racing to 50? The real game is in the growth of the characters. The subtle nuances of how they're built. We long time players have a name for people who level 1-50 in a weekend. AE Babies. And most of us still avoid them like the plaque. If that's how you want to play, then that's your prerogative. But Most of us would like to know our toons and enjoy the content. My brute wants to hurl rocks and footstomp NOW not several weeks from now. My brute wants to have a full attack chain, dish out full damage and have full defenses NOW. I really don't like operating at partial strength.
I want the leveling to 50 to be real quick, then the developers can make all future content for level 50s.
What if I want to try out an illusion controller some weekend? Its weeks of "work" through stuff I've done many times before until I get the higher illusion powers. The content is not "skipped" I've done it all before. -
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
We wish you well and thank you for all the wonderful hours of entertainment you've brought to all of us. It's like saying goodbye to a good friend.
And feels like the beginning of the end for CoH -
We're having the same issue right now with Tin Mage. We've defeated him a couple of times only to all be mapserved. We've all send petitions/bug reports and disappointingly, though not surprisingly, no one has responded

Typically Enhancement bonuses only apply to the caster. Though proc bonuses apply even when a power isn't active.

Quote:I currently have five of the six, Having earned all 3 hero side and then the last two on villain. The first "treespec" has not offered me an option in the two times I ran it to choose the respec and therefore I have been unable to get the badge.Currently, you can only earn 3 of the Trial Respecs, regardless which side you are on or what combination you run them. For example, you can earn the first one on Heroside (and get the first Hero badge), then get the second and third ones on Villainside (and earn the 2nd and third villain badges), and you wont be able to earn any of the others.

I myself have been having the same "ghost of deleted toons past" issue on Guardian as well. The name in the slot keeps coming back but the toon model itself is missing. I have also reported this as well and "Gabriel" from support had said I would be hearing from a member of Senior Customer Support. That was Friday afternoon, and I'm still waiting. So I guess with the holiday We'll have to wait till Tuesday. I have a couple more slots available and filled them up with dummy toons so that I could try and force the name to go away but it temporarily "opened" a locked slot that disappeared as soon as I deleted the dummy toons. It really is being stubborn! I hope they fix this soon because it's holding a name I been wanting to use and would be rather perturbed if I lost it.
-
Apparently this is still an problem because as of today, I'm having an issue trying to delete a toon I had created during the first day of GR. The name keeps reappearing and occupying the slot, but the toon itself doesn't display and though the name checks as available, I am still unable to reclaim it. Though I have petitioned it, over 5 hours later it hasn't been resolved.

Sadly this has been going on for a while. I've found that if not in Ultra mode the original pattern is visible. I also cannot modify the pattern or colors at the tailor or with the SG colors. I bugged it shortly after i17 hit and am very disappointed that a fix for the problem has not even been addressed yet.
-
I'm sure it has been mentioned, but it bears repeating that the Organic armor heads on the male and huge builds won't take detail coloring like the female does. The inability to modify that color to coincide with the rest of the color scheme does interrupt the design process. No sign of new monster heads or tails, just new faces. Otherwise what we've seen so far looks great.

while we're fixing costume issues, any chance on getting the shield patterns fixed any time soon?
-
Quote:I thought so, too. However, I'm afraid we'd end up like Chairface Chippendale and just end up getting the first two letters engraved.
That would be awkward.
As for how to get players to join. I have some ideas, but I'd rather hear yours.
I will say that give them lots of money is not a viable option.
Getting the game back onto store shelves would be a good start. It's been forever since I've seen any version of CoX among the masses of other PC games hording all the room on the shelves. It seems these days it's only really being advertised online and even then just on the NCsoft sight. There's so much other stuff crammed onto the internet, that unless you're looking for it, you might not come across CoX. -
I would love to see some rebuilding taking place in Boomtown. Reconstruction in that area would not only bring some desperately needed aesthetic to the region, but also be a good reason to start using it more. It's one of many areas that's seldom ever mentioned. As far as design, I would LOVE a darker more moody atmosphere. Think... GOTHAM! Tall stone buildings, covered in gargoyles, deep dark alleys. Maybe using that nifty little Ultra Mode, give it a recently rained on look. You know, puddles with reflective surfaces. The sound of splashing water as our toons run down streets lit but street lanterns. Possibly even go for a more old world England "feel". As if Jack the Ripper would jump from around the corner. I think that could inspire some really interesting characters.

Perhaps the Devs would be kind enough to start a base builders suggestion thread much like the costume thread, hosted by an actual Dev to communicate with. It's very understandable that Going Rogue is Paragon Studios number one priority at the moment, but base builders are a real part of this game. For many of us, it's an highly enjoyable feature, that definitely adds depth to the characters. Not only that but SG's (which bases are a part of) are one of the foundations on which our games communities are built.
There is definitely a need for a revamp of the base building system. And player feedback, which should never be discouraged, though should be properly represented, should be vital to not only this aspect of the game, but ALL aspects of the game. Say what you will, but we CoXers are a dedicated and passionate bunch of people when it comes to this game. -
Quote:I have been experiencing the exact same issue. I've messed around with the settings which has not resolved the problem. While it doesn't seem to be seriously dibilitating to the game, it is none the less distracting at times. My video card info is below.Have you figured out what may be causing this? I'm actually experiencing the same problem; a black flash that lasts just a split second. Running on a Radeon 4850, Windows 7 64-bit, Catalyst 10.1. I would try the new 10.4, but those make me lose over 10 fps. Gonna try a few settings both in-game and in the control center, see if I can track it down.
Adapter Description NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT
1 GB RAM (on card...4GB RAM on box)
Driver Version 8.17.11.9713
Any feedback would be helpful.
