Neuron and Bobcat's Vengeance is Crashing the Game!

Who knew their love was so strong?

Running a Tin Mage this evening proved to be a simple activity until our team reached Neuron and Bobcat. Whittling down their health wasn't bad, but once one of the lovers were defeated the whole instance was mapserved for all 8 Task Force teammates.

This doesn't seem to only affect one or the other; defeating Neuron or Bobcat first still results in a crash. So far we're up to 3 crashes - one with Bobcat falling first, and two with Neuron (one pulled, one in the thick of everything).

Can someone look into this? I'm starting to run out of "Power of Love" puns.

Edit: Up to 5 Instance Resets, now.

I waited outside in the RWZ while the team triggered the reset inside the mission; it didn't crash the RWZ or my game, but the instance did reset.

Had I the chance to retype the title, I'd rename this "Neuron and Bobcat's Love Conquers Time and Space!"

Our team logged off after filing multiple reports about this. Here's hoping a fix is coming soon for those Incarnate fans.

Yup, I agree. I'm on one at this time; both times Neuron went down, both times the game crashed on all of us. Once we all logged back in to two people on different teams, but we logged and got that sorted.

Having the same issue on Guardian this evening, crashed the TF 3 times, one time when we logged back in, 2 of our team were on a separate team by themselves yet still on the TF. Everyone logged off again and logged back in and the team was reunited. Each time the TF crashed, and shards, inspirations and influence earned through the entire mission was gone.

Bobcat does some crazy damage with that buff. Damage that I don't think any other AV has ever done before so I'm guessing the server might think something isn't right and the map simply crashes.

I haven't did the tf since Thursdays patch but I don't recall it doing that before the patch.

We're having the same issue right now with Tin Mage. We've defeated him a couple of times only to all be mapserved. We've all send petitions/bug reports and disappointingly, though not surprisingly, no one has responded

I can confirm this bug.

On a Tin Mage right now and successfully pulled Neuron without aggroing Bobcat at all twice, only to defeat him and then have the game crash just as the Army of Neu badge was awarded along with infamy/influence.

Whole team logged back in, did it again, crashed again.

Both times we got the badge awarded only to find it removed when we logged back in along with any shard drops/inf/enhancements/recipes defeating Neuron gave us.

Guys, we found a workaround on this bug: keep a team member outside the mission. We were able to take out Neuron, get the Army of Neu badge, and no one crashed with a team member camping the entrance outside.

Edit: Update - the person who stayed outside didn't get the Army of Neu badge, of course, but he came back into the mission as soon as Neuron fell and helped us take out the two Goliaths and then Bobcat and got the other two badges and TF awards.

Yeah it worked without a hitch (except that one person not getting the Army of Neu badge).

There was a weird moment after defeating Neuron where the entire team stopped dead in its tracks and waited to be kicked only for it to never happen. I was kind of worried that having the person rejoin the mission for Bobcat would mean a crash after taking her out that would negate the whole mission, but there was zero hiccups or even a hint of a mapserver disconnect when we took her out.

I doubt it's the damage numbers. Bobcat only does a few thousand points of damage, even when buffed. For comparison, the burning building in Steel does a few hundred thousand points of damage, and various bugs and unexpected uses of the game mechanics have created damage numbers in the millions (eg. exploding building + Kronos Titan, Touch of Lady Gray: Chance to One-Shot).

I have to say that bobcat is the only enemy that's ever hit me for 4k+ damage before in a single hit. Figured that might have something to do with the problem.

Fantastic! I'm glad to hear that that worked for your team, Taser. Ours wasn't as successful; I waited outside the mission after entering it once, and ran inside once the rest of the team disconnected. Unfortunately the whole instance still reset. Was the person in your party that stayed outside the team leader? That may help keep the mission from resetting.

I'll see if I can replicate this later. From what I've heard it's a somewhat common bug, but there's no clues as to what causes one team to be affected by it and another to proceed just fine.

If it helps, he wasn't the leader and he never entered the mission after we logged back in after a crash.
