  1. I'm not overly concerned about the actual amount to make the transition, I just tossed 3-4 out as a placeholder with the thought, as Necro mentioned, you would get about 5 per Trial. I think the 10:1 would be stretching it as far as it would go, especially since converting Emps to Astrals is 1:1, which still doesn't make sense to me.
  2. As I was working on Incarnating a new character this weekend it occured to me that you can convert Empyrean Merits into Astrals, but not the other way around.

I've already purchased the Ascension armor costume pieces I want, but I'd like to get the Radiance pieces as well. Problem is, I've a ton of Astral merits and not many Empyrean and you can't use Astrals to get the Radiance set.

If we cannot have a straight option to purchase the Radiance armor pieces with Astrals, can we have a conversion option? I'd even be happy if it took 3 or 4 Astrals to make an Empyrean Merit.

    East Coast Quake

Roanoke, VA here. Was quite a ride for a few minutes, thought someone was running on the floor above us until it got a bit worse. No damage thankfully, but was my first noticable earthquake I can remember.

    BTW, love it Zwill.

There is mention of a formula that Posi provided to calculate your Reward Tokens.
    (N/3)+((N/3)/4) = # of tokens

N= # of months on your highest Vet Badge.

So by this formula, for me, N = 75

    (75/3) + ((75/3)/4) = 31.25

This formula doesn't seem to take into account the 1 token per month acquired by VIP's, so if you add in a token for July and August that gets me to 33.25, rounded down is 33 tokens if Freedom launched today.

    *edit*
To NightErrant, You only receive 1 additional token for using boxed codes regardless of how many you may have used.

    *edit 2*
I took another look at my account and it lists me as 5 Yr, 10 mo "paid time." I have the 75 month Vet badge which equates roughly out to 6.25 years of membership so it sounds like it was a misread on my part and your numbers are about right.

Every month after that will be awarding reward tokens you can redeem for tier 9 rewards and you'll be officially a tier 9/reward level 9 subscriber.

Its a tiny bit unclear if you get all of the tier 9 rewards when you complete tier 8 or when you select your first tier 9 reward. But either way, that happens at basically the seven year mark.
Something seems off here Archanaville. I am currently a 5 year, 10 month vet and according to Beta I have 33 Reward Tokens. Am I misunderstanding your math?

Not a bug as indicated by BAB at the above link.

  7. Didn't get as much time on this go round as I have in the past, but I still got a bit bit of work done on characters that had been sitting for a bit.

    Uriah Sparks-Elect/Elect Dom: 38-47
    Nadir Skye-Warshade: 18-25

  9. I don't mind getting logged off necessarily, it's no that hard to log back in. What annoys me is when you get logged out it marks all posts as "already read."
  10. I don't mean to come across as harsh or flaming anyone in particular, but before we get any more threads focussed on how much people think that the beta prices are too high, lets remember they are BETA PRICES. Even Positron himself logged on in the reveals thread and said that the prices at SDCC were not the final prices.

I understand the need to relay the communities thoughts that yes, these prices are too high, but do we really need a dozen more threads on it even after Devs have posted basically saying, yes, we know the prices are high and they will be adjusted?

    Best of MST3K?

    Daddy O' was my favorite.
  12. Could you not use:

    /bind KEY "powexectoggleoff power name$$cc #$$powexectoggleon power name$$cc #"

Binds work backwards (if I remember correctly) so hitting KEY once should turn on the toggle and change the costume, hitting KEY a second time should turn it off.
  13. Honestly I have to say that I don't mind the raids, though my first few runs were quite frustrating. Now that strategies have emerged and incarnate levels have increased the Trials are becoming easier, much like the high level TF's.

That said, I have to admit that I would much prefer gaining incarnate levels through story arc content. The trials are proving themselves *very* grinding and seem very disconnected to any storyline. The idea of "I've stpped the 80th attempt of the Preators to release these mindwashed into society so the well has granted me the ability to...." just doesn't seem to fit in with a story driven power increase.

What I think the best route to go is to offer a story arc for gaining each of the incarnate powers (much like the Alpha slot) and then use the Trials as just that, trials that require the use of the newly aquired powers.
  14. Did this TF for the first time last night, could very well unseat my current favorite (ITF). Fight at the end got a bit frustrating, but overall was awesome.
  15. I've not read every comment on this thread, so forgive me if this has already been mentioned. Instead of trying to write in the incarnate power as an expansion of your characters own powers, don't. It's widely known that the origin of the incarnate powers is the Well of the Furies so the powers granted to you by the well may, or may not, perfectly coincide with your own powers. It's the well's design to make your character more powerful, not necessarily your characters powers.
  16. I was really looking forward to the trials myself, but am feeling a tad disappointed. Ran 3 Lambdas last night, failed all of them miserably. I had lots of fun fighting the mobs at the beginning and even in the crate/container hunts. Once Marauder arrived though the story totally changed. Running my Elect/SD Brute at 67% defense I was going splat within 30 seconds of returning from the hospital. The mobs around the AV continued to grow even after we managed to close all the portals (Orbs would TP in Seers, Seers TP'ed in PPD, Commanders TP'ed in more orbs, rinse and repeat).

It's the first day so I'm trying to remain positive but I'm really hoping that the trials are more than just a debt fest.
  17. That's fine, as long as you find a place that you feel comfortable in.
  18. No, not really. Our base is presently under a massive overhaul, converting from Tech based to a modernized monastary. The origins of the group was a government team of supers set to protect Paragon, but we are now a privately funded group...think mercenaries with morals.

As for activity levels, we have a couple of college students, one who normally will let their account laspe while classes are in session though she will sneak on using another account on occasion. Most of us play pretty casually, normally only logging in a couple days a week, so long absences are not frowned upon. We understand that RL always takes precidence.

We don't hold anyone accountable to any set prestige amount, we only ask that until 34 you do run in SG mode as well as be respectful to the other members in the group. We do have our own SG chat channel that most use as well as a couple coalitions.

I think that is about it.
  19. I'm part of a very small SG of like 3 or 4 friends named "AUX" that team together when we can and when schedules align. We're RP friendly, though we don't officially set up RP events or anything. No website or voice chat ATM as our small number doesn't really warrant it. Feel free to drop me a line here or in-game if you're interested, I've also posted our group in the Virtue SG Recruiting boards.
  20. Name: AUX

    Currently recruiting: yes

RP Level: casual and personal preference

Theme/Concept: WiP: Stationed out of an abandoned monastary the members of AUX work on a globally, though spend the better portion of their time on the front lines in Paragon City and the Rogues Isles. SG is located Heroside.

Activity: Casual to Moderate. Very small group of 3-4 players across the U.S.

Requirements: All we ask is that you are respectful to the other members of the group.

    Leadership: Socket Shock (@phewmite)

    Ingame Contact: @phewmite

Out of Game Contact: phewmite on COH forums

Other: We are a very small group looking to expand our ranks. Our base is a work in progress but is functioning with teleporters to 16 of the 21 zones, mostly excluding hazard zones and Pocket D.

  22. I think my point with the sequels was missed, and that may have been entirely my fault. It's not the fact that it is a sequel and not a reboot, but the extreme lack of creativity and so relying on said sequals. I mean, I've seen 1.5 SAW movies (that was all I could stand), and they are practically reboots since it's the same premise over and over and over and over....just with different characters. There are what, 5 of these?

I'm not saying that all reboots are bad, I've not seen the True Grit reboot but I've heard it was good, all I'm saying is come on and show some originality. If the best that todays screen writers have to offer is something that has already been done then I'll be saving my money.
  23. Yes, I understand taking stories from other media and turning them into movies (HArry Potter, Tomb Raider, etc.) or even the rereleasing of older movies, though Disney only does it in regards to the DVDs.

I'm talking the total lack of creativity for new stories so just remaking:
    Arthur
    Tomb Raider
    Spiderman
    True Grit
    SAW 4 million...
    Robocop
Xmen: this one's bad too (a.k.a. Wolverine 2)
    Mad Max...you're kidding right?
    Dirty Dancing
    Barbarella...seriously?
    Mission Impossible 4
    Red Dawn
    Rambo

And this is just a few. I could even understand making some of these during the writer's strike...but now? Can you guys not come up with anything original?
  24. Is it just me, or does it seem like with all these reboots/sequels that "Hollywood" is showing a severe lack of imagination? I mean, seriously...you can't come up with better storylines than ones that have already been done?
  25. Found it. I've misplaced the thread that had it noted but "$side" will add the tag of your alignment into the chat bar. It only recognizes the 2 sides though so Hero, Vigilante, and Resistance all show "Hero" while Villain, Rogue, and Loyalist will display "Villain."
