Astral to Empyrean Conversion please?

3 to 4 astrals? You made me spill my drink!
Of course it would be nice to have but the devs did put a limit on the number of drops per day per person and I expect they want to keep them rare and hard to get.
if your comparing breakdown values, since 1 emp merit is 20 threads and 1 astral is 4 threads, then logically it would take 5 astrals to equal 1 emp merit in terms of value
it also makes sense to me because 5 astrals is the common amount earned per trial
i do agree with klaw though that it prolly wouldnt be that easy, if anything they would prolly make 10 astrals + inf to create emp merits (or more)
You'd be lucky to get a 20:1 conversion.
Empyrean merits are the way they are time gating certain rewards. Setting a low conversion of 4:1 would practically eliminate that time gate.

Could always put a timer on the conversion.
Lets say they made a conversion for 10 Astrals-> 1 Emp usable once per day.
That should be enough to maintain the time gate while helping to quicken the Incarnate Grind.
In I21, it will be possible to get 5 Emp Merits a day per character.

I'm not overly concerned about the actual amount to make the transition, I just tossed 3-4 out as a placeholder with the thought, as Necro mentioned, you would get about 5 per Trial. I think the 10:1 would be stretching it as far as it would go, especially since converting Emps to Astrals is 1:1, which still doesn't make sense to me.

This is why when you consider the reverse suggestion (converting Astrals to Empyreans) they would likely make that as equally "unfavorable" to us. They may make it possible, but they'd want to keep it something that we would likely want to avoid most of the time. A semi-ugly conversion rate of say 20 Astrals to an Empyrean seems like the most likely rate we'd see out of this.

As I was working on Incarnating a new character this weekend it occured to me that you can convert Empyrean Merits into Astrals, but not the other way around.
I've already purchased the Ascension armor costume pieces I want, but I'd like to get the Radiance pieces as well. Problem is, I've a ton of Astral merits and not many Empyrean and you can't use Astrals to get the Radiance set.
If we cannot have a straight option to purchase the Radiance armor pieces with Astrals, can we have a conversion option? I'd even be happy if it took 3 or 4 Astrals to make an Empyrean Merit.
