Quote:Unchecked positive feedback might result in *shudder* more content like SSA#1.As opposed to, oh, trying to beat down the OP's "I liked it" post with "These are all the reasons why what you like sucks!"
Leaving the cheerleaders to do their thing got us the slogfest of a grindfest that is DA (which took all of one issue to not cover all incarnate slots).
Yes, the maps were cool.
The idiotball sextuple header I can do without. -
Best not to run DA arcs if you don't have your Alpha slot unlocked. The reward table will count as you "first time" table for the arc so when you do get your Alpha unlocked you won't get a "free" shot at a component.

If it didn't need as many slots as the vastly superior trip mine to do not nearly enough damage with a very clunky delivery system on far too long of a cool down I might consider taking it. As it it I can't justify the slots it needs to be worth spending a power on.
There's very little, aside from being terrible, that a trip mine or two can't do as well or better than time bomb. -
When I tried the base teleporter to Echo GC to Ouro scheme but was under Ouro's level requirement I zoned into Ouro for a second or two and then was booted to Atlas.

<Curmudgeon>They have a perfectly good message board so why are they putting stuff on all-your-info-belongs-to-us facebook?</Curmudgeon>

Can't help with the MM part but for the /traps part you want three things, recharge, more recharge, and even more recharge.
A friend of mine has a bots/traps setup as a tankermind (aoe taunt from presence + bodyguard mode) that is extremely powerful and durable. -
Quote:No need to argue that iTrials are the faster, easier option, the data from testing proved it to be about 8x faster playtime-wise and something like 20x faster calendar-time-wise (one weekend of iTrials took about over a month to match in DA due to timegates iirc). You could argue that Trials are the faster and easier way to get the 'rewards' of Incarnate powers, but Dark Astoria's only limitations are the ones that players put upon themselves on how quickly and often the arcs are run. No pressure to get into a League, no rush to do a number of them in order.

Chasing fury. Mastery of Soul seems to be helping with the blue addiction.
Without IO investment and/or external buffs they aren't much more than scrappers (yes yes the Res cap is higher but the armor set values are the same) with an annoying mechanic that makes cold starts very painful and thus needs a GOGOGO style whether you want it or not. -
The timing could have been a bit better with the Collateral Damage story arc. With States, Psyche, and Miss Liberty just recently planted in the marble gardens blueside didn't need one more shot at herofail.
Redside you get a to have your own personal army twice.
Don't get me wrong, I like all those arcs but they really need to find something other than "rocks fall everyone dies" to make things "heroic". -
Quote:In the end on balance I think we will have to agree to disagree. Less because of us disagreeing on what balance is, and more on us disagreeing on where the game is. If I am reading right some would like this to still be a 200-400 point game. I am happy with it being a 500+ Cosmic level game. The characters I have that are not at that level do not run the incarnate stuff, or fully IO.
I'd let there be the 500+ point cosmic game, it just wouldn't be available in the normal 1-50 game. That was the initial promise of the Incarnate system, you get your shiny Alpha slot in the old content, because that power can't do any worse than IOs for borking balance, if you want the game breakers you have to be in content balanced around them.
Like the "Earth for Humans" billboards "1-49 for non-Incarnates". -
Quote:As a 49 do an ITF with 7 50+3's. If you've got an armor set, toggle it off and see if just the destiny spam can still cap you. If you've got a crashnuke, well, you've lost already.I however agree with Mental Giant, some of these people are serous, and would like to see the game depowered/nerfed. For the life of me I can't figure out why, and I am not kidding I really can't.
Some people have a concept of "too powerful". Incarnate abilities in non-incarnate content pegs the power meter. -
I'm just going on experience from previous holiday events involving groups killing GMs but by next week I'm pretty sure the number of GM Nemesis killed will be in the single digits per day when summed up across all servers. So game disrupting zone event that has no point after the first couple of days.

Update all incarnate recipes to include shard based components and then eliminate the thread based components entirely. Shards would become equivalent to Astrals for purchases and NotW equivalent to Emps with costs lowered for the increased difficulty of getting NotW but the WST timegate changed to a daily restriction instead of weekly.
iTrials will still exist but would not reward anything beyond the pleasure of doing iTrials and whatever rewards a TF gives.
Gut the defense bonuses from IOs. Add a few more options for res set bonuses. Give recharge a serious look, probably gut that but also update the base recharge times of sets that need recharge to function in the modern fast moving CoH (anything with static location based powers like traps). -
I wish the badge would have been an account badge since like every other holiday event that requires multiple teams to defeat a GM you're not going to be getting that badge after the first few days once people get bored with it.

Quote:It'd be nice if they could actually interrupt attack chains, total noob move but I've brutelocked myself into the defense crash from rage more than I'd like to admit. It didn't help that it was a SS/SR brute. On a side note, powers like PB and AD should be auto IMO. Most players have them perma (as they should), making it a click not only uses up the only available "auto power" option, but they also interrupt attack chains.
Once you're into SOs you basically have PB,AD,that Ninjitsu one perma, they should have been toggles. -
I bought the 50% off 5 pack of 1 hour 25% boosters. You'd need the 8 hour 100% booster to approach that PP:XP and 8 straight hours (not counting offline breaks) of grinding ITFs or MSRs would do me in. If the 1 hour ones were more reasonably priced I might have picked up a few for those want-to-hit-50 TFs.
Experienced is nice (especially that you get a goodly sized stack for free) but the 2 hour cooldown means you can run out of patrol xp quickly if you're doing TFs. Leveling my stalker 1-50 under perma-patrol took care of most of the ones I had lying around from when I bought packs. -
If you don't feel effective on a team I'd suspect you're not playing a defender, they have force multiplier tattooed across most of their primaries. Even Empathy is that way as long as you're not a "healor".

Put me in the curmudgeon camp but I hate having to watch videos when the medium, in this case the internet, is fully capable of supporting text.
They don't need a professional stenographer but at least have someone official-like make a go at transcribing these things. -
Ya... just what we need, yet another zone you can't see anything in. If they do perma-night they need to do it right and turn the darkness up to 11, your whole screen goes completely black, ui and mouse cursor included, not just 'shaded' dark but set to black so no amount of gamma will help.
-
Considering the fight it took to not have him scrubbed from our badges and that SSA#1 was there just for character assassination I really don't see them putting in much more of a memorial than putting a history plaque on a dumpster somewhere, bonus points if they put it in the dumpster.

As soon as the backpack is only on specs with the crab tree I might give one a shot. Bane and huntsman till then.

Flashbacks: 2 common, 1 rare, astral

Squiddies and their crab brethren can save slots on a respec since they pick their Nova and Dwarf forms, which grant inherent powers, THEN they assign slots, so on a respec you can place your level 3 and 5 slots into Nova or Dwarf powers and not just human powers.
