Yeah, it looked like a reskin of the Rikti invasions to me, though I haven't seen too much of it. Honestly, though, I've never enjoyed mosh pit events. About the only part of a Rikti invasion I ever liked was the IUD run... Was that what the bombs are called? Anyway, the only part I liked was where we run around and beat up dud bombs, and mostly because I could do this by myself.

IED, in case you were serious, though technically thats a misnomer.
IED is "improvised explosive device"-- nothing improvised about their bombs. These are more correctly termed "duds."
Though, as a former combat engineer, I've always been amused by the way we disarm these Rikti bombs. I mean, we engineers lived by the mantra "if at first you don't succeed, find a bigger hammer" but we never really used that philosophy when dealing with bombs explosives. That's more "infantry."
Sounds like a fun bit of smashing around. Has there been any active developer participation in the event yet, like Nemesis spouting off some rhetoric as he's sending out his armies, calling out foes by name, etc.?

It's awesome, and I love seeing Nemesis's threats and claims up in my Zone Event tab instead of just "Nemesis troops spotted in blah blah".
They said that the event is going to be a mix of live and scripted, because they got kinda burnt out on doing the loyalist invasion live for a whole month last year - so my guess is that they'll do 1-2 days a week live, with the rest just scripted like Rikti/zombie invasions.

it's an okay event. Got into one in Talos, immediately alted and jumped into one that had gone into King's Row.
It's not bad, just basic. You fight off the standard pleebs, some Nemesis? elite bosses show up, a wave of War Hulks, eventually the big man himself pops up as a Giant Monster. After that the spawns all repeat, except it doesn't seem like Nemesis spawns again.
The invasions come in semi-quick successions. It seems like he'll pick a side then spam about 3-4 different zones one after the other. For us it was Talos, then King's Row, then Skyway, then Steel.
My only potential complaint about this is that if it is intended to run all month, it's going to be a pain running Numina's as the WST.
Edit: Haha, they changed the WST. Love them. <3
Ah! I missed it! Any screenies?
Open Archetype Suggestion thread!, Kirsten's Epic Weapon Pools, Feudal Japan, Etc., Alignment specific Rularuu iTrials!
If Masterminds didn't suck, they'd be the most powerful AT in the game.
Nothing all that amazing though, it looks like any standard iTrial, tons of players bunched together beating the snot out of anything that moves until Nemesis shows up as a Giant Monster (he just cons as one. He's still Nemesis)
Also, there's a badge (A Nemesis Plot? is the name, I think) for those who enjoy collecting badges. I believe it is awarded for defeating the GM version of Nemesis.
I had a fun time getting into the thick of the fight, but I always enjoy invasion events like this.

IUDs are "intra-uterine devices." Very different, methinks. Un-eXploded Bomb or UXB is the acronym you were looking for.
If that's what Rikti females are actually using for IUDs, I don't think I ever want to meet a Rikti female - even on an Incarnate trial with 24 other +3 Incarnates.
American Dawg, Starblaze, Neanderthal Joe, Shining Dawn, Tokamak Dragon, Stinger Incarnate, Burning Tyger, Dover Tornado, Big Roach, Dark Paladin, Archmage Wylde, Kings Row Hornet, Prancing Deer
Avogadro, Science Lord
Edgar Nightcraft, Doc Cicada, Chupa Macabre, Dr Forchtenstein, Blood Shrew
I wish the badge would have been an account badge since like every other holiday event that requires multiple teams to defeat a GM you're not going to be getting that badge after the first few days once people get bored with it.
