Recently started a Mind/Earth Assault and am loving it. Just my 2cents.
  3. The Thanksgiving event would have players collect randomly spawning turkeys around the zones (like presents), but each turkey you get makes you more and more lethargic until you're asleep.
  4. Tips drop at random, neither side is "better". Many people try to get their tip drops in Talos and Shark, but investigating the tip in that zone is no guarantee that the tip mission will be in that zone, so travel time is also random based on mission location.

I have found hero side tended to give me my mission in talos quite frequently when I investigated them, while villain side often sends me to GV when I investigate it in Sharks, not a big deal really. (although I do dislike the mission that send me to PO all the time, I often dismiss it).

i19 will make zone changes hero side even easier with all the trams being connected, while the ferry redside is cake.

I have done so many lvl 50 tips on both sides that I don't really read the stories anymore. Over time, they will all seem repetitive.

Overall I find them to be a great way to get those io's that just won't drop for you or are more than you're willing to spend on the market, but I have already grown weary of tip only mission teams and have returned to a happy mix of farms, tips, and tf/sf.

    5 Years later...

I actually bought this as a way to save money. I figured that one month of CoH was cheaper than one night at the bar, which is now reserved for the weekends (mostly). If i stayed in a few extra nights a month it'd add up over time. Well, a few extra nights became more than a few and my liver thanks me.

What I didn't truly expect was how great the community is. Much closer knit than EQ was, and a much more casual friendly game. Now with i19 on the way and 72+ (i think) months under my belt, I have no regrets.

    Which Farm?

If you want regular mission farm for fire on red side, run the "demon farm". It is a bunch of fire throwing possessed cot in the ship. You can do that one fine. I think this is Vernon Von XXX, but I can not remember off top of my head. It is a level 50 arc, so you can find it on paragon wiki.

AE has several all fire damage missions, if you wanted to farm tickets or XP.
Tavish Bell, the Crey guy, in GV, gives a CoT possessed scientist boat mission.

They are usually some form of grav/fire or kin/fire. On that map, taking fire dmg is second to your immob resists. That being said, they are easy to kill. Fire dmg will work just fine against them.

As said above, switching to blue side for the original demon farm is probably the best fit.
  7. Make one of each redside AT. (if you have enough slots open). It's a good way to figure out which type you will like. Just as on blueside, you will know soon enough if the build is for you, or if you should junk the toon. That's one great part of this game, plenty of room for more and more alts. (and more and more!)

Before that, I would just skip it... having said that, I have seen more than a few toons where cape look good on them, it's just not for me and how I build toons... I guess it depends on the look you are going for...

I was wondering, for the people that do put capes on their toons, does the travel powers you pick determine if a cape will go on? Example if you have a toon the does super jump would you add a cape? To me , a cape looks best on a fly type toons like Statesman... where as a toon like Synapse who does super speed, a cape would not fit... what's your take?
With 5 costume slots per toon, I like to make at least one of them in a "Golden-Age hero" motif. The classic hero in tights and cape. I seem to prefer them on ranged toons over melee toons.

    Capes in real life?

    Any thoughts?
Axe/NRG maybe, don't think I've seen one in game.
  10. I always felt anniversary badges should be awarded per account, not per toon. If you logged in ANY character during the anniversary event, you should get it on ALL your characters
  11. It will get better with Stamina. not supergreat, but much better. Once you get your full attack chain. As a lvl 15 it is indeed slow and endurance heavy, but be patient, its worth it.

It takes a decent amount of io's to be an excellent build. (I personally have spent 100's of millions on it with only one purple set).

As for power choices, the only primary/seconday powers is dont have on my 50 are Bash, One With The Shield, and taunt. (Mine is a brute). I took grant cover last. You will want to take tough/weave.

Well said. I agree with this.
Running/Starting a TF solo is an acceptable idea, but scaling it to one person makes it a story arc. (not badge worthy IMO, and the merits should scale down too.) . Perhaps have it scale to the current minimum starting person scale?

  14. My Crab is Bogart Nacho.

    My Widow is Taco Supreme.

I may have been hungry at the time...
  15. My names are usually taken from somewhere in RL.

Hideous Exuberance is from a flier I saw posted in the East Village for a local band. He is now my new Electric controller.

    .
  16. Pets, Pets, and more pets. Try to get your pets on a real quick recharge. They are ever so useful for adding to your dps (and sometimes taking the mob groups alpha).

Venom and frag grenades are a must, as is suppression and heavy burst (and Arm Lash for when they get close). Not much will be left after all that.

(some) Bosses did give me a hard time when trying to farm, so you may want to turn them off.

*on a side not, I duo'd with a Force Field Defender the other day... might be a crabs best friend.
  17. It is not possible at this time.

I also suspect the Ouroboros system will be expanded to include Praetorian arcs in some form or fashion. Now that original bluesiders have access to redside Ouroboros and vice-versa it would be strange not to allow any character to ultimately experience Ouro arcs of all three types (red, blue or 'yellow').
    a thought...

Would this work as far as story line is concerned?
We know the Menders have an agenda having to do with the "coming storm", as does Cole. Would the menders want us Primal Earth Heroes messing with the past of Praetoria. (That is the premise behind the flashback arcs, isn't it? Changing the past in an attempt to change the future?)

*I know the flashabacks are a fancy way of letting us experience all the content, but it's nice that it has a story line to go with it. I'm curious as to just how it would work. Ideas?
  19. I'm trying to remember my build, as I'm at work.

It seems Phalanx is over slotted. The rewards are minimal. May want to put those slots elsewhere. I know mine has all the attacks 6 slotted for io sets. The 6th reward in many sets is usually a decent defense bonus. (if you're trying to softcap)

Maybe a 6th in shatter and possibly build up if you want to slot a guissans(sp?) Four slots in Combat Jumping might be over kill unless you have an io set in mind for it.I usually slot it with the +3 def unique.

Mace is not fast until you have great global recharge. Consider Hasten.

    -my 2 cents

I agree, Crey need some help.

Skullz are jealous of the Hellions Girlfriends from Hell. They need a dark wielding version for themselves. (maybe a zombie mm?)

Lol, I also have off from Wednesday thru Sunday, but I will be in some tiny little town (It's barely a town; There is ONE intersection! ONE!) in the Adirondacks for a wedding. Alas they have no internet, they don't even have cell reception or television at the "hotel" I am staying at.

There is no epic storyline or new powers or new levels you just grind new incarnate based merits to unlock a couple global bonuses.
In that case, it'd be my main TF toon. Charlie Chitin, an Earth/Emp Controller.

If it's possible to grind incarnate points solo (non-tf), I will use my Mace/Shield Brute.
