WM/Shield Brute Build
Anyone?
I'm trying to remember my build, as I'm at work.
It seems Phalanx is over slotted. The rewards are minimal. May want to put those slots elsewhere. I know mine has all the attacks 6 slotted for io sets. The 6th reward in many sets is usually a decent defense bonus. (if you're trying to softcap)
Maybe a 6th in shatter and possibly build up if you want to slot a guissans(sp?) Four slots in Combat Jumping might be over kill unless you have an io set in mind for it.I usually slot it with the +3 def unique.
Mace is not fast until you have great global recharge. Consider Hasten.

looking at it as it is, it looks like you have some of your toggles/passives overslotted, and underslotted some of your attacks. On a brute, i'd...
--forgo slotting the resists in deflection, and SO-slot 1 endredux/3 def.
--2 SO defs in combat jumping, max
--3 SO endmods in stam is plenty
--at least 5 slots in all attacks...with mace, i'd say be sure to 6slot all aoe's.
--6slot shield charge! SOs, probably 1acc, 3 recharge, 2 dmg if you always time it with build up
--get a steadfast 3% def. one of the best purchases you'll make, can stick that in deflection, along with the def/endo slotting.
--You'd really benefit from hasten, getting shield charge and your aoe attacks up more often.
At 22, you're still pretty squishy, and will probably continue to be so in larger spawns before crowd control/shield charge/weave. I'd suggest always keeping purple def inspirations in your tray, and use them proactively.
If you decide to IO the build for softcap def and recharge, you'll have a monster on your hands. It'll be hard to look at other toons the same way again.

Right now I'm level 22 on this guy and he dies... alot. May be because the two new guys I mainly team with are, well, new. But still, I figured I'd throw my build up here and see if I can make any improvements.

Actually, most melee characters are not really that tough out of the box. Try various tricks like pulling. I don't know what power sets that your team mates have. If they have buffs and debuffs, they need to take them and use them instead of being selfish villains.

It's not that they're bad players--they're just new. Like, make an /SR character and don't pickup Stamina new.
Edit: And make a /Regen char and don't pick up Quick Recovery new.
I was gonna eventually try to IO it out, maybe some Force Feedback in the ones with KB and I was planning on putting LotG's on most of the defenses--Alignment merits make this much easier to do. But I wasn't gonna try to set it out til later. I'll probably pick up IOs at 27 but not really deal with sets until at least 37
So, I'm up to level 27 now and I'm thinking of respeccing, as I need Active Defense, and probably Hasten.

Oh, and, when i19 comes out an Stamina becomes inherent, I intend to replace them with Aid Other/Aid Self/Hasten (And replace SS with SJ)

I really need some help in getting the defenses to soft cap. I can't even get the Melee/AoE/Ranged over 45%, they keep hovering around 41-44%.
It very nearly made me rip out my own hair, but I somehow managed to make a build that had Melee, Ranged, and AoE softcapped. Here it is.

Alright, that looks good--very good. Thanks, I'll use that one until i19.
At which point I plan on replacing the old Fitness powers with Aid Other, Aid Self, and Hasten. Take a slot out of Physical Perfection (Move Regenerative Tissue: +Regeneration to Aid Other) and maybe take a slot out of Weave and/or Deflection to put an extra recharge in Hasten and to put 3 Numinas in Aid Self
Right now I'm level 22 on this guy and he dies... alot. May be because the two new guys I mainly team with are, well, new. But still, I figured I'd throw my build up here and see if I can make any improvements.
