Quote:Oh, they are definitely partly Lovecraft-inspired. For example, from Calystix's history:I never realized the Coralax had such a Lovecraftian origin. Thanks for pointing that out!
Quote:The first records of a priest called Calystix date from ancient Rome, where a Legion discovered an ancient temple to a Cult of the Shaper. This cult was led by a high priest called Calystix who ordered the townspeople to slay the Legion. The soldiers were nearly overcome, but they won and put the temple and the town to the torch for their abhorrent practices. Later records of a Cult of the Shaper led by Calystix re-occur in the middle ages, and again during the Enlightenment. The last known occurrence was in a small Massachusetts fishing village in the 1920s, though it is unknown if it was lead by a priest called Calystix, as the Cult was destroyed by the American Navy for crimes of piracy and cannibalism. -
The goddess Merulina of the Coralax may qualify, as she came from space.
Quote:For millennia, a godlike being as old as the cosmos itself floated free across the universe. As the fetid swamps of the EarthÂ’s Cretaceous Period began to recede, this god Merulina crashed into the turbid waters of the expanding Atlantic. -
The concept that comes to my mind is some mad scientist type armed with both electrical gadgets and chemical weapons. Just use one of the Head Detail "breathers" with grillwork on it to explain where he's spitting poison from; /Poison really needs alternate animations, with both spitting and from-the-hand animations for everything.

Quote:And THAT'S what happens when you stand too near someone hit by Beam Rifle's Disintegrate!Only while they were in that 2nd costume (trying to edit I guess) I saw a horrific thing. I think it's related? You can see how it's female AND male at the same time... I don't know if the player saw it like that themselves, but that's how others would see it I guess since I did.

Quote:Nope; there's several people in this thread, and I have a lowbie Energy/Poison corruptor.<snip> as it seems you might be the only person out there to have played /Poison as a corr that frequents the forums..).

Procs work regardless of what ammo mode you are in.

My Stone/WP Brute Smashy the Clown took it originally to get a filler attack & Superjump; and well, it just fits on a psychotic clown.

Quote:Try going into the Scales section of the costume editor and changing the shape of the cranium.I should post pictures of my favorite WS. His hair clips with...his head. Yes, for some reason, his hair is situated below the horizon line of the skull. So he has long flowing red/orange hair...with an egg dome sticking out of them middle of it.
Hey, now if I only had a nice tall hat I could use to cover that egg dome bald spot... -
I like the kilt; it's going to see a lot of use on my male characters since they have so much more limited options for that than the girls have with dresses. Scottish kilts don't fit a lot of character concepts, and I can only re-use the Valkyrie "kilt" so many times before it gets repetitive.

Quote:Because you are Dark Blast or Dark Melee, and the undead tend to have major negative energy resistance. Why on earth would you pick Ghost slaying axe over Sands of mu, Blackwand or Nemesis staff?
Speaking of new enemies; the new "lava" Shivans in the ruined-Galaxy tutorial are affected by the Axe just like normal Shivans, but the Giant Shivan isn't. -
While I agree with your basic point and I've never tried one of those DVDs, I do have to say that the few times I've tried to read comic pages on the computer its been seriously awkward; the page formatting is just wrong for a screen.
-
And it comes much later than it should; other sets typically get their main AoE control at around 12, not 26.

Well, I went ahead and made an Energy/Poison. A robot named Chemwar, the result of a government black project that was trying to create autonomous chemical warfare drones. The energy blasts are colored very dark and thematically are supposed to be streams of chemicals fired hard enough to smash things aside and damage them.

Lots of good ones here.
One that really got to me after a while is the Television arc. While it was funny, the more I got into it, read the dialogue and thought about it the creepier it got. Even at the end your character doesn't know if any of it was real or not - the souvenir makes that clear. But that leaves two basic possibilities. First, that your character just spent quite some time completely insane; either he/she has been staring and mumbling at a Television for hours and hours while having hallucinatory battles, or they've actually been rampaging across the city fighting hallucinations because they thought a television talked to them. Including at the end engaging in a pitched battle with a portable radio. It was an arc that managed to give me the feeling that my character just might be genuinely insane; not just a bad guy, but a raving loony.
Or, and just as disturbing, Television really is some vast, world girdling parasitic entity that needs people to watch it and intends to ensure that they continue to do so. Something near omniscient, with hypnotic powers and some kind of dreamworld contained within itself. And it isn't' alone. What was Radio? What was I taking orders from way back in Port Oakes? A being similar to Television? Are there more such? Is there an "Internet"? A "Phone"? Are all those screens I see everywhere watching me?
I have a few characters who have; the shallow or goofy ones. Like Feloni the Energy/Traps, who became a villain for the thrill of it; I've also imagined she's the sort who'd sign her name with a little heart over the "i". -
I got Fimbulwinter for my new Ice/Time Corruptor; the only server it wasn't taken on last I checked.

It's my understanding that the invisible pseudopet that spawns the vines performs a to-hit roll when an enemy enters range to see if it spawns a vine; so you do want accuracy in there. And if you put procs in there I believe they also check to-hit to see if they fire.

With -KB IOs, the usual advice I hear and give is to slot either one or three -KB IOs. One IO protects you from most knockback; three protects you from most of what is left; but there's little or nothing that hits with more KB than one IO can handle but that two IOs can.

Bots with an Ultra Mode shininess upgrade?
Still; what would really be nice of course is custom pets. Yes I know, it's the thousandth time that's been said but really that's the pet appearance upgrade I want. -
Quote:It debuffs things without being depending on a mob-centered anchor. Which makes knockback less of a problem, and means you can actually debuff something other than an EB or AV on a team without the anchor dying. There's not really anything this set does that radiation doesn't also do, and better
And it's a bit specialized, but unlike radiation you can debuff confused targets so they do more damage to themselves without also debuffing their damage output. -

...Ah, that just made me realize that Energy/Poison ought to be pretty good*, at least solo (which I usually am). Which is nice, because I like both Energy and Corruptors, but Energy doesn't play well with most Corr secondaries.
* Thanks to having powerful and persistent debuffs that will last even when you've smashed the targets across the room. -
Also, if you're on a solo DP Blaster leaving it on Normal Ammo can often seriously help your survivability because of the knockback.
