Dual pistols KB question

MIDS says empty clips, bullet rain, and hail of bullets takes KB sets, specifically the FF +rech IO. How does this work with swap ammo? Do I only get the chance for +rech with standard ammo equipped, or can i have any ammo equipped?

Procs work regardless of what ammo mode you are in.
