elec/pois!
Just looking at the two sets made me think that they would have good synergy, it's nice to have confirmation from someone who's played them.
My problem with the two sets is conceptual. I just can't figure out a good character concept that combines these two pretty disparate powersets. I'd love to make an Electric/Poison controller, but anything I can think of seems pretty cobbled-together.

Elec/poison SO MUCH SOFT CONTROL its like having full shutdown on mobs. biggest would be the -end/-recov for the ultimate SAPPER! this new poison trap is just sick OP with electric static field and conductive aura.
Damn I'm loving this idea. The sapping possibilities with elec/ and poison trap sound awesome!

pardon my ignorance but I just posted about wanting to make an Elec/ controller and poison is secondary I only dabbled with as an MM.
What are the synergies, how do you play it?
is the control that great that you don;t seem to go for any def or res from the set bonuses?

Lobster,
Where does your damage come from, mainly? I mean, I see that you have damage in Chain Fences. You have Assault, Gremlins, Ball Lightning, and the Patron Pet. But I dont see much else. Do you find it sufficient? Where does the bulk of the damage come from? How is that patron pet? I have never used one myself, because of concept mismatch mainly.
Anyway, just curious.
Thanks,
Lewis

Teammates, mainly. (From my experience with my Ele/Rad/Mu) It's not high damage by any stretch, but it's not the lowest either.
Sufficient? Depends on how you define sufficient. Soloable? Yes, but Slow-loable. I team, so damage output isn't a priority on those builds not suited for damage.
I like the Mu pet mainly for concept since my character is a Mu Priestess. And it does help make up for gremlins lack of damage.

Cool. I am used to low damage controllers. I have ice/ff and earth/ff both at level 50. But I keep seeing people rave about various elec/cold and elec/poison characters, so I am just trying to figure out what the deal is.
I have an elec/ff level 35 and an elec/storm 33 and elec/psi dom in the teens, so I dont have any high end experience with it.

I am not sure what my question is either.
I guess I feel like I have been seeing lots of buzz about Electric control. Maybe its the elec/cold soloing AVs combined with the fact that Time and Poison are new and have good synergy with Elec.
So I was just casting about for what all is going on with it, etc.

Cool deal. I myself like Jolting Chain. Just because with high recharge (in the power and external ally buffs; I've not maxed out my own builds yet) its pretty funny. Perma AOE knockdown. Good times.

Elec/Poison/Mu now 50+1 all tier 4 and I have to say that this is the most fun controller I have played in a long long time. I dismissed elec as a lame and very subpar set but it really is fun and its own kind of powerful.
The set really feels like a "power" sapper, able to reduce res def to hit dmg end and end recovery of the bad guys in a matter of seconds. Poison really is a fine set and if you are sick of Rad like I am I say try poison out. Poison may not offer safety for you but if your on top of your sleeps/confuses/holds/sapping then all you really want is that yummy -res.
btw envenoms splash effect stacks with its prime target so you can have a few selected targtes effected with 45% res debuff.
Finally the damage isnt that bad when you proc out jolting chain with dmg procs. I find that containtment + interface and your standard patron or epic aoe will be more than enough to wipe a spawn of +0/+2 at x8.
Just hit 50 & did my alpha unlocks last night. Still a fun combo - my particular setup is a little weak vs. single targets... weakened honoree got me once (I forgot to bring BFs... DOH!) and when I did kill him it took a while, but wasn't terrible or anything.

I will roll this once they fix the proc issue in Poison Trap.
Of course, I tend to enjoy elec/ anything... but still, elec/pois has solid synergy: NONE of the poison debuffs break sleep & the +recovery from elec/ is plenty to run the /pois toggle, attack, etc. without having to slot stamina (at least at level 40 with SOs). Plus - to take advantage of Conductive Aura, you were going to be in melee range anyway, right? Might as well throw Venemous Gas on there for extra safety and damage!
If you've been looking for something that pairs well with elec/ or /pois, I suggest you check out elec/pois. Between this and my nin/time, I'm really enjoying i21.
