Ghost Slaying Axe
After you do the storyarc it makes sense you can't.
So far nothing in Praetoria is affected by the Ghost Slaying Axe
Why on earth would you pick Ghost slaying axe over Sands of mu, Blackwand or Nemesis staff?
Thats the question
I've only ever done it for thematic reasons (and then immediately regretted it).

Because you are Dark Blast or Dark Melee, and the undead tend to have major negative energy resistance.

Speaking of new enemies; the new "lava" Shivans in the ruined-Galaxy tutorial are affected by the Axe just like normal Shivans, but the Giant Shivan isn't.
Arc #40529 : The Furies of the Earth
Honestly the team I was on was to squishy to handle those missions. The enemies were far to annoying with their -ACC and what not. We were all around 20 and I was a stalker! The dark damage with it's damage over time really shut me down. We were fine with every other arc but when we got to that one we just said forget it. We were only 3 missions in

Those spirits aren't undead.
It doesn't effect the new enemies, who should be effected by it. For example, in first ward, when your fighting the possessed dust soldier, spirits pop out of them. These spirits aren't effected by the axe at all.

SPOILER
They're possessed by psychic manifestations coming from Mother of Mercies Hospital.

Effect is a noun; you can't "effect" something, but you can "have an effect" on something.
The word you were looking for is "affect."
Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges
Mission Architect arcs: Doctor Brainstorm's An Experiment Gone Awry, Arc ID 2093

If that's the case, then there should be a message that says they're not true undead, as happens when you use the Ghost Slaying Axe on a Vahzilok zombie.

In the above case "affect" is correct, but "effect" is not only a noun.

"Effect" can be used as a verb. It means to produce or accomplish. However, the verb "effect" should always be used with an object, and its usage outside of technical documents is frowned on. You can for example, "effect change", or "effect an outcome".
I guess I can't argue with that. I forgot about that extra message that you only get on Vaz. Good catch.

Besides theme, I prefer it because I can actually hit something with it than have myself stand there stupidly missing.
