Quote:As others have stated; you could (based on the 'roll') have al three or any combination fire off, but honestly doing unenhanced damage with a power with a 20% (or much less) chance of another type of damage is pretty unappealing. With standard IO's at lvl50 you could be doing 40% (or thereabouts) additional damage with each hit.*scratches head* I'm not sure I really understand that statement. I suppose an example would help out some. Here's one from me.
Typhoon's Edge is a PBAoE.
I would have(as an example, mind you)
-> Scirocco's Dervish: Chance for Damage(Lethal)
-> Obliteration: Chance for Smashing Damage
-> Eradication: Chance for Energy Damage
Let's say I swing once. Is there a chance that each enhancement listed can fire on any single target with said swing? Basically he gets hit by the normal attack, and 3 proc effects blast him at the same time. -
Hmm, well, the codes I have are for the basic retail game (CoH/CoV). So, if you have either never activated with the basic game (as noted) or have activated with one of the 'specials' (GvE, Architect, CoV/CoH CE); you can most likely activate with the codes I have. As I said; PM me and I will dig 'em out.
Personally, I'd reactivate my old account for the Veteran Rewards time already accrued, but I am a greedy sonuvagun (and I dont go inactive, lol). -
Just to verify: you had a regular account previously? Just asking because you talk about having "enjoyed the trial period". Reactivation weekends only reactivate lapsed regular accounts; not trial accounts.
And I will do Lemur one better. If you never bought the game; I have two regular CoV account codes you can have gratis. That will give you and the hubby a month of play each. Just PM me.
No, I'm not a nice guy. I just have a few codes lying around since I bought a bunch of them from Big Lots at $4 bucks a pop, and I want to clean my closet.
:::::::
Okay, editting again because the CoV codes will activate both sides in case you were going to ask. -

Quote:He wont get the name back. One of the big BadgeHunters' main Badge toon was named 'Archangel Irene'; just using the 'Archangel' moniker in the descriptive sense, and he was unable to get the name reinstated when it was genericed. I think the rename was 'Seraph Irene' (or at least I know I suggested such to him in the forums during the crisis).The only thing he can do to get his name back is to escalate the support ticket and make a case for being unrelated to the marvel character, but in fact more so akin to the biblical thingimabober, or, go the crazy math teacher route.
Might win and get the name back, or might lose and... would be in the same spot he is now. If you (well, he) thinks he has a good case, he might as well. It's largely a judgment call by the GMs.
After the Marvel brouhaha (ie; Copyright Infringement lawsuit); NCsoft has taken proactive measures to insure no violation of IP law occurs. It is a convoluted area of law anyway; so GM actions may 'seem' strange or arbitrary, but they are only being cautious. -

Quote:Check again. It doesnt say Architect Edition Free Trial; it says 14 Day Free Trial. Just because it shows the latest Box Set doesnt necessarily mean it allows use of Mission Architect, etc., etc. Although I can see how the confusion comes about. Perhaps a disclaimer would be in order on the "Get a 14 Day Free Trial" page.http://www.cityofheroes.com/missionarchitect/
City of Heroes: Architect Edition Free Trial
A bit cheeky of them to advertise an Architect Edition Free Trial that doesn't allow use of the Architect. -
Hmmmm, I think it's broken. My computer is definitely Off right now. I will check it again later. Perhaps I have a bad connection with my Interwebz.

And here I thought that you had found Pepsiman AS a sammich. My bad.
But might be tasty. Hmmm, Pepsiman IS going to HeroCon. Well, gonna have to pack my Hero Sammich Roll (XL Size). Will be selling portions for tree-fiddy outside the main hall. Put in your orders early. -

Did I miss something? Are Server transfers from European Servers to American servers up again?
:::editted to add:::
And apparently: no. What a difference a few seconds makes. -

Heck with it. No merge; just give the EUro players a reverse "Passport" to join the US Server of their choice (original "Passport" was to let US playing EU players join their Communities back home) and shut down the EU servers if they are 'truly' so desolate.

Quote:It is not a matter of making PvP 'required'; it is a matter of allowing PvP in Zones not designed for them from the beginning with a Playerbase that has for the most part rejected PvP. As has been stated (and I will reiterate); "if PvP is allowed to enter the PvE Zones I will probably be on the first boat out." The idea of being badgered by n00bs to PvP (as in 'other' MMOs) while working through PvE content is absolutely abhorrent to myself and a large portion of the veteran (remember that word) population.Just a brief supplement to my original post for the nay sayers: Maybe i wasn't totally clear in how i presented this idea, if so i apologize. I just meant to GIVE THE OPTION of CONTROLLED pvp across all mid to high lvl zones for heroes and villains. NOT MAKE PVP REQUIRED. I even gave some ideas as to how to keep it comfortable for the poeple that dont want to pvp or dont like pvp. I know theres people that dont like pvp that much. Im one of them. But I also have to admit that if pvp is implemented properly it can be fun sometimes. I also suggested this because theirs just as many gamers that enjoy pvp, the fact of the matter is that this games player base is very small compared to alot of other mmo games. If OPTION of CONTROLLED PVP across all zones is added it would make the game more appealing to a broader base of players and hopefully help build up the player base. Once again, im not saying make pvp across all zones REQUIRED but make it an option atleast.
You were not misunderstood; you are misunderstanding the rejecting of this idea. -
If the OP is having trouble finding teams now... implement this suggestion and he will have absolutely no luck. Some teams (farms or POWAH!) just invite people for filler and aren't really looking for someone to actually 'work' their character. Add the 'already in the pipeline' ability to make a solo mish spawn like an 8-man mission; finding a team will be done for many 'POWAH!' players want to just be uber solo or duo-style.
I understand that time of day, time to play, server pop, etc. have a bearing on building a viable team, but I have played the clock around on low to mid pop servers almost exclusively, prefer to solo (unless I know the person), and I still have to Hide from Tells and Invites. Actually, from what I've seen and heard; playing on the high pop Servers may be the problem. They have AE now so they don't 'need' to build a team as much as get warm bodies.
The whole 'dont like to build my own team' attitude is what I find to be the problem with people who 'can never find a team'. That plus the idea that they need an 8 man team. IMO 8-man teams are just console game simulations and generally a mess. A 4-man team is more viable for strategies, tactics, and just plain being able to tell if your toon is 'really' effective, but to each his own.
Oh, and /no thanks on this suggestion. -
Yes, you can Respec your toon in one of three ways. Run the Respec Trial and choose the Character Respecification reward at the end of it. Obtain a Respec Recipe (through the auction house or a Drop) and craft it. Earn one through the Veteran's Reward System (about once a year of play). Get a Free Respec (usually given by the Devs after a new Issue drops.
The Respec is ONLY of Powers... NOT Powersets, Archetypes, Gender, etc.
Windowed Mode is available in the Menu Options in the Resolution drop down list under Graphics and Audio tab. -

Hmmm, sounds like The Ultimate Rationale To NOT Implement this 'suggestion' (for lack of a better term).
Response to OP: no real need. The stuff that hangs the GMs is the stuff that hangs us (ie: glitches). These will always take a modicum of time. Other stuff (arbitrating disagreements, exploits, or general he said/she said) still takes tools and the agreement between all players to abide by said GS decisions, and an unreasonable person will not accept a GS' decision as they dont like or 'accept' GM's decisions forcing escalation.
Customer Service is a simple yet tricky business, and if the GM's are on the ball CS-wise; they dont really need 'laymen' to help out. All it 'might' add is a means to add a roadblock or stall tactic to some of the low level annoyances, and if PlayNC needs that then it is probably time to hire another GM or two anyway. -
Y'know it's really not a matter of the morality of gambling in a Teen-rated game, or whether it is legally feasible (and it probably wouldn't be); but it is a matter of "to what end?"
"To attract more people to the game?" Well, the internet makes the most money and garners the largest memberships on 'adult sites'. So maybe we should add peep shows showing the latest 'adult' video offerings at some suitably seedy spot in Paragon or the Isles. Big membership/money boost for Paragon Studios, but what does it have to do with a super hero based action MMO? I've seen suggestions to add movie theaters to the game that would allow the viewing of regular movies or even YouTube style clips here too, and I have the same reaction... Why?
I like the stock market, and online banking. Should we add a stock ticker to Wentworths? Maybe do your RL banking through the LSSL in St Martials? Running past a shop or billboard offering pizza delivery in Talos; click on the shop and you can order Dominoes delivery to your RL apartment? Actually add online learning through the various universities? All through an add-on 'booster' pack.
Those things are actually possible, but to what end? It is worrisome to me when we want something to be 'MOAR' than its intended purpose just because we don't want to Alt-Tab to our browser or, heaven forfend!, shut down our 'magic interwebz box' and interact with the world in a more meaningful way.
Hyperbole? Look through the Suggestions Forum. Heck, my ideas aren't even that creative compared to some. But I think that I will just play CoX, and then go take both of my best girls (wife and daughter) for an ice cream cone down the street. You can join us; it's 'real' fun. -
GvE at Electronics Boutiquie in most malls is $9.99... soooo... do the math.
My question is (nefariously minded soul that I am) why do you NEED the VIP Pass? To get into one room in the whole game? For the TP power? What's it worth to ya? Most people use the Ouro Portal anywho (yes, I know you have to be lvl25).
If you consider me snarky; look at the OP's second and third of all time posts. I am not impressed.
::: Editted because of new OP post. You wanna work out a deal to not pay the Canadian price? Now, that's a horse of a different color. Plenty of people willing to help in this game... including me. Send a PM. $9.99 plus tax is less than the monthly fee of the game, and you get the stuff. Capische? -
After Demons for MasterMinds, the only obvious set would be Fuzzy Bunnies. And Posi doesnt like clowns.

ONLY allow the player to craft IO's that are unlocked by the individual level/type crafting badges... Of course Set IOs and such would be immune from these things as you already need to own the recipe to craft them. Add regular recipes that you already own or pickup in missions to the 'allowed without the badge list'.
[/ QUOTE ]So... only allow people to make IOs on the workbench if they've memorized the recipe, or if they have the recipe on-hand? Which is exactly what we have right now for every workbench?
[/ QUOTE ]
True, but this would relax the availability of the Portable Bench, and allow some folks to work on the rest of the memorized recipe badges on the fly in missions, etc. I didnt say it was an earth shattering idea, but maybe one that would be acceptable to the powers that be. The time and Inf put into this accolade makes it darn near the toughest to get in the game. If the Devs want people to experience more of the Inventions System; this might make it a bit easier to do.
Again just a thought. -
I build my own PC's and dont usually spend more than $500 and end up with what would be considered 'mid-range' machines. They have to play CoX or I wouldnt have them in the house. The problem with alot of people's tech issues usually comes down to how well maintained their machines are.
And Dial Up is beyond outdated anymore. Heck, in my city they are putting up wireless Internet access available to the general public but you have to deal with advertising and get a basic setup through the local phone company (which anyone with a home phone already has). It may not be true HSI, but I tried it and it worked. It isnt made for gaming though.
No game can be all things to all people.
