  2. Yeah, it's been a rough couple days. I've been staying up late, unwilling to look away from my characters and their city. I've been grumpy and aloof at work. People ask me "What's wrong?" and I just tell them I'm in a bad mood. None of them would understand if I told them I'm this depressed over a video game.

But then I come read the forums. I see that there are lots of people going through the same feelings. Some of their stories are enough to make you cry. It makes me realize that there's nothing wrong with getting emotional over this. You all really are a type of support group. If we have to go through this - I'm glad we can all go through it together.

To every developer, player, and fictional character that was affected by this tragedy:
I love you all and I wish you the best,

    With an aching heart,
Shawn. (Infinity's New Jersey Devil, Mystic Moustache and others.)
  3. I just want some nunchuck melee. We've already got sai, katana, and staff. Now I just need nunchucks and a turtleshell back piece.
  4. This is the kind of idea that I hope catches on. I imagine these arcs might come from Ramiel or Prometheus in Ouro.
  5. I have a system I started using a while ago to slow my altitus, that also ensures that my characters each have something different to do. I keep them all 5 levels apart. So other than my 7 level 50s and handful of level 1 placeholders, right now I have characters at level 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and a 43 that I'm currently working up to 45. This keeps me focused on certain characters and sets quick short term achievable goals, helping me get a lot of my toons to 50 that would have stalled out in their 30s. Now every time I get another 45, I know they're just one step away from being another shiny 50. Then I have room to start leveling another alt through the system. It's become a meta-game of sorts for me.

    Nunchucks

This is really the only set that I desire that hasn't already been made or announced.

Then all we need are some turtle-shell back pieces.
  7. For some reason I just have to listen to jazz in Praetoria. I guess I was listening to a lot of jazz (from wrti.org's 24 hour jazz stream) when I first ran though the 1-20 Praetorian content and it just kinda stuck.

Also sometimes when I enter an Orenbega mission I'll stop to light an incense stick and put on something a bit more ethereal sounding.

Other than that I usually just listen to whatever I'm in the mood for that moment while I play.
  8. Assault Rifle.

I'd also say Traps but I'm giving that one another shot - just not with an Assault Rifle this time.
  9. Well I can only speak from experience, but I've currently got an elec/elec dominator up to lvl 35 and that is exactly the style I play with it. First, I find a bad guy in the middle of the group, hit him with the chain confusion power, then run in and start smashing stuff with the melee powers from my secondary. And I have to say, it's a very strong combo even before I got Gremlins. After Gremlins, it became nearly unstoppable.
  10. I like this idea, and the idea of coming out of a fight with 1% health and actually looking like I just made it through hell. I like all of the ideas from the OP and also would love to see one that makes you look all bruised and battered.

    New Powersets

    I just want some Nunchuks.
  12. I bought two sets of five slots at the 25% off price, so of course I couldn't live with myself if I didn't buy two sets at the 50% off price. But now I'm maxed out at 48 unlocked slots on the only server I use, so I would just suggest, before they go down to 75% off, to let us have another row of slots on each server. Kthx
  13. could nunchucks be a viable alternate look for the weapon? because that's all i want

    BASE Bundles

One way to deal with the problem (of only base builders buying the packs) would be to have each pack include a functional item that could only be interacted with by purchasers of the pack. Example: Include a Tailor NPC in a pack. The rest of the SG will be able to see the tailor in the base, but won't be able to use it unless they've purchased the item.
  15. Spines.

I made my first toon a Spines/Regen Stalker before I had any idea what I was getting into, and loved it so much that after I got him to 50, I remade him as a Spines/Regen Scrapper and did it all over again.

And that was all before I could color the spines to not look like werido bananas. Now that they actually look nice, I can't believe I played the set for years without being able to customize it.
  16. Just noticed this myself. I was going to purchase the bundle... and it doesn't exist. I want too many of the pieces to justify paying for each on their own. So I'll just wait until this is fixed, I suppose.
  17. WOW!

I was sorta thinking something for bases might be in the works after they did that player base spotlight article. Them doing ANYTHING to bases and base editing is such a good sign that it may be getting some well deserved lovin! Huge news!

Agreed. All around, a very entertaining read. Totally made my lunch break.
  19. Great job, really. I found that when I joined on those 16-player BAF runs led by Ms Mesmer that they went smoother than most of the full league ones I'd been on. And a few of them ended up being < 16. I know that the players can't be far away from a successful 8-man BAF.

Solo BAF trial, though deserves its own special award handed to you in person by Mother Mayhem.
  20. If costume parts effected gameplay, everyone would figure out which ones effected gameplay the best and wear those. Then you have a City of Everybody Wearing the Same Costume. Which is the opposite of what has made this game successful.

Special campaigns - You mean, you would want people to have to pay to do certain missions? No way. The idea of "Respec trial, LFM. Must be level 25 and pay $5" makes me gag a little just typing it. The paid expanisions are enough.

Pets and Powers, In-Game Items - We already have these. You get special powers in the packs, you can even rent a jet pack on a monthly basis. I could see pets being included in a pack, as long as they had little or no effect and were mostly just ornamental. Imagine all the "What, you didn't purchase any Heavies to bring on the trial? Kick." That wouldn't work. Same goes for special Recipes or Enhancers or whatever else you may mean by In-Game Items.

And please don't say you mean XP or Inf or Shards or something because that's just ridiculous.

What other cost would there be besides development time? They don't have to go out and purchase raw kryptonite to craft our powers or anything. Development time spent on these things would be development time not spent giving us more free stuff. Pure profit? If anyone who works at paragon read this they probably had a good laugh at that.
  22. It works like claiming a Veteran reward. Look up your "Promethean" badge (Under either Achievement or Accomplishment, I always get the two mixed up) And there should be an option to redeem it for a Notice.

I had a hell of a time figuring that out on day 1. It's not exactly intuitive and there's no information on how to do this in game.

It took me a few minutes to recover from this one. I'll be giggling about this all day.

    1. Absolutely. In fact, at this point, although I know I am the minority here, to me a Base Expansion Pack > More costume packs.

    2. $9.99. The same as the others, as long as it had a similar amount of new stuff.

    3. As opposed to the idea of specific themed ones (Circle, Carnie, etc) I propose the concept of basing them around new (though not game-changing) functions for the base.
IE. (off the top of my head)
-"Training Room" pack with several different versions of Target-Practice dummies & a Trainer
-"Wardrobe Room" pack with a Tailor, ICON-style customizable mannequins, SG-specific uniforms.
-"Vendor Room" pack with access to the Market, Quartermasters/Vendors, etc.

    4. All of those packs would contain a fair amount (I dunno, maybe 20 or so) of new/proliferated decorative items, in addition to the big functional items.

Of course the biggest problem with this idea in general is the fact that the amount of people with a reason to purchase it is far lesser than the usual amount of people who would purchase a costume/emote pack. So, perhaps if each also included new costumes/emotes/badges/temp powers/etc so that someone who doesn't do the base editing might still decide to drop $10 on it.

Maybe one could include a "mission door" TPer for the base that although visible to everyone, only works for people who bought the pack. Perhaps that's how all the new functional items for the base would work. You can see the new Tailor in the base, but you don't have access to it unless you have the pack. That isn't particularly unfair to the people who don't have the pack, but it could be a reason for someone who doesn't do base editing to purchase it anyway.
  25. My favorite of my characters' names is the Mystic Moustache: a vaudevillian magician with a mind control handlebar moustache. He's a mind/psi Dom and so a lot of his powers really do look like they originate from his 'stache.

Although I wouldn't have bothered posting about him if I hadn't simply wanted to share the most badass name I saw last night: Grim Hand of Death. Costume didn't dissapoint. I was jealous.
