Do you play music that fits the mood during missions?

I don't always, but I do like to add a bit of my own "soundtrack" to the game for certain TFs, Trials, or missions. I even have "soundtracks" set up for each trial. For example...(Warning: Link-mania!)

(Almost syncs perfectly with the cutscene too)

Personally, the only mission I play specific music for every time I do it is the two missions in Croatoa that have you killing ghosts. The ghostbusters theme, obviously.

As Rebel_Scum said, I don't really go for anything specific, so if I'm in the mood for music while missioning, it can be anything from musicals, movie sound tracks, pop, country, metal...whatever really.

Not weird at all. I do not do music for missions, but I do have certain ones for characters. I guess I dont do enough trials or tfs for that.

I play with the sound on! ...shocking, I know.

You certainly have an interesting selection for those moments, though!

Not me. I'm a sound-on, no-music, realist/method role-player.
In-game music is also turned off.
I don't have any characters that listen to music while they fight/adventure, but maybe I'll do that some day, hehe.

I haven't played with the sound on in three years I think. I put on Pandora and just let it play.

I don't have songs for specific missions, but I do put together playlists for my characters that I play frequently. I select songs that put me in the right frame of mind for that character. Even if I'm not actively roleplaying, it's still fun.

It sounds like such! : D I sometimes do the same if I'm just casually missioning or run out of ideas.

I do too sometimes if I want the full effect of the game sounds + custom music.

And thanks! : D

For some reason I just have to listen to jazz in Praetoria. I guess I was listening to a lot of jazz (from wrti.org's 24 hour jazz stream) when I first ran though the 1-20 Praetorian content and it just kinda stuck.

Also sometimes when I enter an Orenbega mission I'll stop to light an incense stick and put on something a bit more ethereal sounding.

Other than that I usually just listen to whatever I'm in the mood for that moment while I play.

I have taken to using Pandora and selecting moody, brooding movie soundtracks. Seems to fit pretty well, and some of the timing of them is uncanny with what's going on.

Or... a station I made called Fish Heads which has comedic/parodical music. Guess where I got that name.

I have a tendency to run with the sound off in most cases but occasionally turn it to a low setting. However, during certain moments/trials/missions, I do play some music depending on the character I am on. Most of my main characters have VV pages and I actually play some of their music on occasion to get in the mood for the character itself.

For instance, when I am on Sinister Trickster, I tend to play the remake of "They're coming to take me away" by Neuroticfish or when I am on Professor Straenge, I play a bit of Dead Can Dance or Delerium.

I tend to play with the overall game sound cut to 50%. Sometimes down to 25% if I want to listen to specific music for a fight/scene. But I almost never cut out the sound entirely, just because I think it's important to be situationally aware of one's surroundings in a fight, and that includes sound.

As for music - oh yes. Love to find appropriate music for a zone or fight or sequence.

Two recent examples spring to mind -

Was running First Ward arcs and found that the soundtrack to the movie Inception worked amazingly well as background for both the zone and the overall story. The dreamlike quality of the music even in it's more urgent/action oriented works wonderfully.

A couple of examples:

In Nu Dark Astoria, I find the music from Hellsing (either TV series or OVA) works quite well.
