There were a few leagues on Freedom a while back but everyone got pretty bored with it overall and left for other games. You can find the odd number of people in RV on Freedom or Virtue but organized play is pretty much dead until a brave soul tries to start a new league/ladder.

Quote:Ghost Widow is one of Recluse's advisors and she controls the Fortunata corps and so on. She's also nigh-immortal as long as Arachnos exists. Mako annihilated an arch-villain level threat (Scrapyard) singlehandedly, Black Scorpion has his hands in all the technology in the ROgue Isles and Scirocco is kept under close watch because of his power and idealism.
See that's it... what happens when your Patron can't hold a candle to you, and you can do everything they can and more? Currently, as characters the four patrons are some of the more interesting n the game. To see them made redundant would be very sad because the whole structure of them is interesting.
I don't know how this is going to pan out but given how neglected redside tends to be, I'm concerned they may just get a cursory glossing over which would be incredibly sad IMO.
Even if we have all this ultimate power, we're never going to be patrons because Recluse has picked his four knowing they can be trusted and won't pick up and leave, not forgetting game reasons as well. -
Television arc is nice.
First Ward is great except for a "Woman in Refrigerator" moment or two.
World Wide Red arc from Crimson is decent.
Von Grun is decent. -
My main is a Mind/Bubbler, remade her as a Mind/Kin on another server and as a VEAT redside on another server. Fun stuff.

Fire Blast > Energy Blast, especially with procs.
If Flambeaux has Energy Manipulation she'll have Boost Range as well...which gives her an edge. If she's Fire/Fire it's just more AoE goodness. As for KB, Flambeaux can just use Hover. We know she can use the Market since...*SPOILERS* in a Twinshot arc you speak with her next to Wentworth's, where she found some IOs to make her hair better. She might have enough KB protect from IOs to make that meaningless.
Overall I find Flambeaux less annoying AND we get to defeat her in a bunch of morality missions too, so she wins hands down.
Actually, the real fight should be Arcanaville vs. Johnny Butane but that might be postponed indefinitely since Johnny dislikes fighting AVs. -
You need to get a level shift or two so it won't feel so overwhelming.
Your powersets should be great on trials. Hurricane can pin the escapees in their pens, you have a fair amount of -Defense on the mobs and AVs and if you join a Keyes trial Hurricane can clear the guards at the terminals so you can access them quicker.
It always seems overwhelming when you're on a 50 in those trials. You'll faceplant a lot and feel frustrated but even Alpha at Tier 3 can help your survivability a fair bit. -
Quote:Desired for what?According to this list all AT's are desirable, some moreso than others.
According to this list Controllers, Corruptors, Defenders, and Tankers are all the most highly desired.
Unless you are responding to a different post, which would actually explain a lot of the responses.
I got invited to a level 19 pug hero group on Virtue just a few hours ago; I was on my Trick Arrow/Psy. We had a jolly good team with our ragtag group of my TA, a Beam Rifle Corruptor, an Ice Tanker, an Empathy Controller, two Blasters and a Warshade at lead. At no point did the leader go: "Hey, we need X" since the Council and Outcasts were just dropping like flies. No one ever got hit since Flash Arrow + alpha neutralized everything.
If I'm short something for a TF, I'll fill on need. VEATs and their buffs are awesome and they do reasonable damage. Scrappers are great. Some of those Fiery Aura types just melt stuff and have a super quick recharge self-heal. Would I love some Corruptors or Controllers on most teams? Sure! But...only if they actually, you know, buff AND shoot. Too many teams have totems in nice costumes with flashy power auras.
The only time I can see wanting more of something would be on an Incarnate trial or against really hard targets. Even then, 24 +3 Blasters or Scrappers could probably melt those trials... -
Had a good laugh at the OP.
VEATs bring tons of pets + teamwide defense and damage bonuses.
Blasters kill stuff like no tomorrow.
Defenders have massive buffs (highest buff scalars in game, iirc) and no slouches attacking either.
On and on.
If you like all Controller teams, knock yourself out but the other ATs offer tons to any team configuration. -
What side do you pick more than others?
Villains. I prefer the archetypes and it's easier to get some of the accolades (Invader, Born in Battle) and there's a lot less zoning. It also has a female top tier that isn't a total ditz (Ghost Widow, though she has her fair share of lapses).
What play style do you prefer?
Buff/Debuff. I've been playing since 2004 and just got my first Blaster to 50 so...
What power set(s) do you favor?
Cold Domination, Mind Control, Defense based "secondaries", Empathy is right up there.
What zones do you like the most?
Redside: St. Martial, the Giza and the nooks and crannies are great.
Blueside: Founders' Falls, Atlas Park for majesty and Kings Row for griminess.
Do you usually play as a male or female (word of hatred) ''toon''?
Entirely dependant on concept. Generally female but if the idea specifies a male then that's what it is.
Views on Role Playing?
No ERP.
RP with people I know or open RP on Virtue when I can join in (not an easy task at times).
Servers?
Champion, Infinity (Red), Exalted, Pinnacle. -

The Well:
Ignored as source of metahuman power on virtually all my characters. I don't even run the arc anymore now that you can unlock it with Astral Merits. My namesake is a former scientist that had no knowledge of the thing and got her powers through experimentation...yeah. The list goes on. The sooner I can avoid railroading of my character's motivations, the better.
Praetoria:
Nice new starting area, loved First Ward content. Not a fan of everything Incarnate being tied to it. I can get to 50 without interacting with the Praetorian storyline and I can run endless task forces divorced from it, yet once I start the Incarnate path, I'm cooked.
Praetoria is a great starting zone but again denotes a tendency by the developing team to get "new shiny" syndrome and abandon it; you never use the "shifting" system of being part of the Resistance or Loyalist factions in First Ward or in any other content. Granted, branching arcs do require more tech, but those choices are generally the culminating part of an arc. How fun would it be to either let Diabolique go instead of seeing her torn asunder? Perhaps you betray Makwa instead of helping him? Still, you can't reproach the Devs too much as they've gone a bang-up job with this zone overall, and I hope to see 30-40 zone along the way.
The trials are a nice way to convey the "first strike" into Praetoria, and they are repetitive, but so is most MMO content. It would be nice to have alternate way to improve though and we'll see if Dark Astoria is that way... -
Only ran the hero one so far but States did not have any compunctions in throwing down in Lord Recluse's strike force after we zapped Ms. Liberty, so why did he suddenly hold back here? I suppose it makes sense in a "Paragon" type of way.
The maps were nice and having the option to revive him but failing is a nice touch as well. The arc was fine, going to have to do the redside arc in order to see if the final fight is any different. -
Generally I only feel this way on farms. I have some farm maps that end on glowy clicks so if I see anyone going near them they get auto-kicked.
-
Probably.
I only wish I could be the one stepping on his throat and walking over his corpse. That goes for the rest of the Phalanx too. -
Quote:Dropped her in about 10 minutes or so last Friday. Next challenge please. The devs beat us to it.
Diabolique.
I'd like to see Grav/TAs, Psy/Poisons, Grav/Poisons, Grav/Darks, Therms, that sort of stuff.
The more crippling the debuff the better. -
Quote:It's a Midnighter, a very powerful one.Can someone explain to me who said being is? Don't include the Paragon Wiki link, I've already read it. But, it doesn't give a clear picture of who they are and what exactly they have done and are doing. A private message would be fine since I'm also trying to avoid spoiling the thread.
Always thought it was Requiem since he's been around forever, was connected to the Nictus (Cimerora) and the Council/5th Column shenanigans. -
Anyone who sees their HOs as trash, please send all Microfilaments, Nucleoli, Membranes and Enzymes to @Neuronia and @Neuronium, I'll give them a good home.
As for the change, unfortunate but they're now WAI so that's a positive.
Players being Munchkins will abuse other items and the Devs will fix as needed.
If they're unhappy with certain interactions, they'll make certain facets unenhanceable. -

Quote:Because boss fights are a trope of MMOs and he's the boss fight. You didn't source that quote of yours, so I don't k ow how it's delivered in game terms.
But anyway, if our aim is to destroy the weapons caches at the Lambda facility, and we do so, why do we have to fight Marauder afterwards? Why don't we all just fly over the wall and escape?

Citadel has access to ALL THE WORLD'S DATABASES?
What???????
Ooooooook, so there is NO chance of all our credit, military, intellectual property and other knowledge bases including our personals being misused or otherwise compromised by anyone, especially seeing that the Council tried to clone him and Citadel appears in a variety of villain and hero arcs...
Wow. -
My namesake used to be my main, but got most of the Master badges and having done the new content she sits shelved until new shinies arrive and I roll yet another Dominator to perma (Electric/Thorns).

Quote:Just did a 40 minute Master RSF (successful) on Victory, thanks Madame_Pistacio.I just did the ITF for the first time in years. It was simply stupid.
Every character simply ignored the foes and ran through the missions past them, taking out only the ones they needed to. There was no challenge to it. 90% of the foes may as well not have been there.
Is the rest of the high level this stupid now?
With Incarnates, everything but the trials is trivially easy.
You literally have to unslot your incarnate abilities outside Alpha and maybe go with a SO build to have a challenge. -
"City of Heroes: ATOs will be purchasable with Reward Merits and Inf, or Astral Merits and Inf."
This is great to hear but hopefully the price in Reward Merits is reasonable.
200 Reward Merits for a LotG 7.5 or 2 Alignment Merits, which is bascially 100 Merits? The Reward Merit costs for recipes need a review.
I'm expecting 75-100 RM + 10 mil and 40-45 Astral + 10 mil myself. -
Not gettting the EB complaint.
If he wants his Patron arc done, choose Black Scorpion, ghost the first few missions, autocomplete the Gutter Scorpinoid one and when you get to Quatrexin, he's not THAT tough. Carry a few reds and greens and you should be fine.
With the autocomplete feature workingfor nearly all standard content and a host of global channels, bypassing such issues is trivial.
