Quote:would have to speed through the mender ramiel arc to unlock alpha so you dont waste time grinding trials unlocking alpha lolYeah I see where you are coming from, the reason I was suggesting Viv run trials is to unlock and slot her super fun powers (Judgement and Destiny) I mean those things are just awesome to have now.
Also, I was thinking she has done tfs to death prior to her sabbatical from CoH, and might want to try out the new content.
Honestly, with bafs its pretty simple to play it and be an (effective) participating player so being 50+1 there shouldn't matter much at all. The lambda is a different story, being 50 vs 50+1 does make the collection of temps phase a little harder but the good thing about Viv is she knows how to play her blasters/brute to be survivable, I think she should probably thank the isolaters and playing with Hamster for teaching her how to not rush into mobs and knowing when to retreat.
Anyway, wb again Viv and we can once again become Vivtory.
also if you dont mind throwing inf her way to help out can unlock all 4 slots within 2 days of trials by doing xp conversions -
i think a lot of these things are still hideously overpriced, but since they are a 1 time unlock its not *that* bad
i agree with others in the thread that this will just promote the already awful incarnate grind, however at least it gives me more of a reason to run trials in the first place which may make it feel less grindy since i have more of a reason to run them... -
Quote:the arachnos flier gives me trouble on my ill cold because its hovering off the ground and the mass of guys that it spawns distract the PA too much, if the PA could fly then it might be more feasibleAhaha he was out alot last night..besides I can solo him on my fire/kin so he's not much of a challenge.
The flyer would be interesting but thats more about alot of damage before it flies out of range.
I think maybe you should start planning on Hamidon for the future, might take awhile but, you would definately go down in the annals of CoX as soloing it.
Have you thought CoP trial? With incarnate unlocked you probably have a good chance.
Just food for thought.
i dont think its possible to solo hamidon with the way the encounter was designed because even the almighty PA get 2 shot by mitos let alone hami
i dont think the CoP trial is soloable as well due to all the simultaneous defeats going on with it
the most feasible i think would be soloing a lambda trial since its not *too* different from a final mish tf encounter except with time limits (god i hate the forced speeding of the trials) -
heh ive been kicking around some of the other games i have on steam (have around 430 games right now, only about 10-15 of them i have actually played)
next week ill definitly be here more as i want to get new lore pets and i guess ill have to run the awful keyes trial and get those even more awful badges (seriously who the heck is designing the trial badges, they have been getting worse and worse) -
-
for pre lvl 24/forced respec path, i basically ignore it and PL until that since i know we get the forced respec, pretty much everything we did before hand means diddly especially since the lvl 24 respec also gives access to bane and crab stuff
as for post 24 builds, i have a decent bane build that uses mostly huntsman attacks except for shatter and is soft capped to ranged attacks with only about 50% slotting -
out of all of those, i think #4 would be the most likely
we already have some variants on this stuff like shuriken and exploding shuriken and the wrist launchers that the jounin in ninja set have, as well as the throwing knives natural origin power, the spears thrown by the cimerorans
(this is actually 5 powers right there that could be altered for this possible set)
the only thing i see is there is really not a them since its just a bunch of different thrown weapon powers combined together and i have no idea on a higher tier powers since most of these are low tier powers (this could potentially be powers 1-5, but no idea on 6-9) -
if only completing one of these tfs actually DID release a giant monster robot on redside...
idk what ill be doing then, but if you are lacking people and im around ill bring something -
you wont start running into a lot of AVs till at least the mid to upper 30s in normal story arcs, most of the AVs you will see between then are in tfs or the occasional story arc
-
Quote:/thisFirst, did you start your lvl 34 in the Rogue Isles or Praetoria? I believe only a "native" villain over 20 will unlock the VEATs.
praetorians can not unlock epics regardless of which side they choose
to unlock epics you must have a toon start on the respective sides (ie villain for VEATs) -
Quote:heres the offical post and detailsMy search-fu is lacking, provide links .. I wanna see

AND NO!
I am not going to the front page and looking for myself <.<
o.o they are now paying us to play their game? Interesting..
We earn Server Transfer ($10 value) and access to new stuff .. and those arcs ($5 value)
So, it is $10 per month earned .. and that one time of $5 all include for VIP .
Nifty
were actually getting more than $10 per month
current subscription is $15 per month, and were going to get:- 400 paragon points ($5 value)
- 1 free transfer ($10 value)
- free signature story arcs ($5 value for each one thats out)
which is at least $20, so if you think about it, the devs are actually paying us $5 per month being a VIP (if thats how you want to think about it lol)
either way $20 of free stuff every month is really good deal -
Quote:i was looking at that, if you noticed that aside from the 400 pts per month we get, we also get the free server transfer and free signature arcs which is another 1200 pts worthThey have a couple of price comparison points out for Paragon Points... sounds like you should be able to get a reasonable amount of stuff with 400 points a month. Things are looking good there, but I'm not happy with the news that Incarnate powers are grayed out for Premium people that bought Going Rogue, even though, yes, I know you're playing for free.
so were getting around $20 in free stuff just staying subscribed, plus we can use those 400 pts however we want like to get costume sets from boosters, or more character slots for free as well
being a VIP will have some serious perks with it lol -
how i see it being VIP we get at least 1200 points worth of free stuff, with an additional 400 points per month to use on whatever essentially letting us buy boosters for free as well
this is definitely a bonus to VIPs imo and im gonna stay with the pay plan -
Quote:i would assume that a premium cannot go to the sg registrar and create a brand new sg with brand new base, but if they are part of a supergroup and given or already holding the leader positions then it will be their super groupThat's an interesting feature to add.
Don't know where else to post this but are you able to elaborate about SG and SG base feature access on the premium tier?
The matrix only says premiums can join an sg but what about previous subscribers with personal bases (only their own alts) that goes premium. Does that mean they can still enter their base but not administer it (no super leader authority)?
If so, can that license be purchased?
so my guess is premiums cant make new groups, but they can inherit older groups -
Quote:these types of things are EXACTLY why i do not and will not ever ever have a facebook, twitter, or any kind of thing like thatThe EULA for Facebook is onerous to say the least, and their reputation for security and particularly privacy breaches is hideous. Most people I know who know anything about computer security or intellectual property rights refuse to have accounts; I'd certainly never sign away my rights like that.
This would be a great opportunity to set up and test a public-questions part of the CoH forums in advance of CoHF; to draw returning and potential customers into the CoH environment and let them experience some of the cool community we have here. At the very least, you should accept questions here as well, and repost answers. Perhaps the best option would be to accept questions via a wide variety of means (forum post here, special email address, Twitter with a specific hashtag, Facebook, etc.), then post the answers primarily here, with a link to it posted in whatever medium the question came from.
not to mention that facebook doesnt actually delete anything so just "deleting" your account wont remove anything from their systems -
i would think that poeple would want to stay on non VIP servers for pvp so they can take advantage of the huge noob pvp populace that will show up
-
incarnate abilities such as judgement ARE affected by the alpha
other stuff like the nemesis staff are NOT affected
so a musculature alpha will boost the dmg on judgement (in fact ONLY alpha boosts can improve judgement and lore powers with exception of the +rech from spiritual), global bonuses will not buff judgement
the alpha basically can only apply to powers which can be slotted for that type of reduction, so spiritual boost will not affect mind link or vengeance since neither can normally be slotted with rech -
i am also very pleased with how things are going to be handled
im honestly in the group that had one of those heart sinking feelings that the game has announced going to a free to play hybrid model, but after reading up on all the information presented it is being handled very well and i feel that this game has always been worth the subscription and i will always be here to support the game
long live coh! -
in yesterdays ustream chat it was very heavily mentioned that we will NOT be able to buy the badges and the badges will continue to be earned as normal
they are just not tying the rewards to the badges anymore and making the rewards more of a choice to what you want, so if you dont want samurai armor but want the vet powers like reveal you could pick and choose instead of waiting 5 years -
the actual reasons given in ustream chats was because of the pets, mm and controllers both have pet summons and pets are more server intensive, so they are limiting the pet sets available to theoretically help reduce server stress and essentially create less lag
-
my understanding of this and what was mentioned in the ustream today was that galaxy city IS going to be the new tutorial, it will essentially be a co op and upon completion of the tutorial will allow the player to choose an alignment and go to atlas or mercy
they also said that atlas and mercy will be getting some graphical makeovers as well as contact/story makeovers (for example the new intro mishs will be able reclaiming fort darwin from longbow and will not start you in the fort but outside the fort when you exit tutorial) -
Quote:With the way this is worded I gotta ask, does this mean Mercy Island isn't getting a visual makeover?according to the ustream this morning they said mercy was getting a makeover as well, and slight differences with the intro mishsQuote:I would guess not--Mercy is probably about two years newer than Atlas. But at the same time, I'm not sure he didn't mean Galaxy City when he said Atlas was getting a makeover.
one thing that was mentioned about it was you would start outside fort darwin and have to reclaim the fort from longbow instead of the entire first 2 contacts that deal with snakes lol -
i know custom baddies in the creator depending on their costumes can have a major impact on performance
capes, auras, animated tails, and anything else thats animated increases lag and if you have all the above combined it can very easily cause massive lag spikes
suggestion is using a map with enemies using the simplest designed costumes to increase performance -
from what i read about sg's:
free accounts will not be able to create or join them
premium accounts can only join existing ones not create them
and vips have no restrictions
