As an avid Apple guy, I WANT THIS! Do it! I'll donate to the cause! Making it native to both iPhone and iPad makes it very attractive, and let me just say I'd pay for it. -
Here's my costume concept for Boss Steam, complete with Steam Jets aura. Not sure what to make him yet, but I'm thinking something /Storm or maybe something else. We'll see.

Nice one, thanks Nal. I'll PM you the whys and wherefores. Y'know, I might as well list the characters, in case someone wants to try out the sets. If anyone's interest gets piqued, I can PM the backstory/canon and such.
The "protagonist", I guess, is named Moxie Danger, a young, sassy superhero private eye. She looks like this. In game terms she's a blueside SS/SR Brute. I'll probably start up a small SG, detective agency style.
Villains:
Crime Queen--currently have her as a Mind/Nrg Dom, but that's totally open to revision; her backstory's the more important part.
Doctor Deathtrap--again, sets not super important (though I imagine that something /Traps would be a given)
Satin Fox--a DB/WP Brute, but again...yadda yadda (also might change this name)
Supporting Cast:
Guy Friday--Traps/DP, tech guy, and the Giles/Q to Moxie's Buffy/Bond
So I guess now this thread can be either for interested parties, or for the original intent. Oh yeah...and if anyone's got a character whose particular idiom they think fits this general, pulp-flavored thingamajig, feel free to drop me a line. -

Without temps I don't think a brute can solo an AV. Even with temps it'd probably be a bit tough.

I've been asked to play a nemesis or three in my time. I took one 'nemesis' to 50 and loved it, and I still have and play the other two.
Sign me up as your enlisted buddy and tell me how you want me to gallery it up, as it were.

Soloed the arc on an Illu/Kin/Primal controller, with AV's, set to +1. Didn't have an issue.

All of my current masterminds with the exception of my Demons/Dark.
The current AI bug makes all but the D/D unplayable. I actually deleted a level 42 Thugs/Traps that I'd loved up until the AI went bonkers. It was impossible to solo +1/x1 what with the idiot Arsonist running all over the place even as I desperately hammered the Follow/Passive macro I'd made. -

First: The RNG controls everything. Get used to it.
Second: 'Skill' based games such as Earth of Battlecraft (hur hur) usually have 'talent trees' that are frequently imbalanced and bring about waves of nerfs and 'adjustments' as well as equipment that (while making you look silly) can make or break your character if you forget to use one. I don't want that bull@#$% in my CoH/CoV.
Third: I got my Alpha Slot filled within an hour of unlocking it. Call the waaaahmbulance, the problem you're having is not commonplace. -

What was the length of the time it took you to reconcept? I've had a friend who's lost 4 names during a rename, like someone was stalking her just to screw up her toon.

That's just god-moding in a poorly executed attempt at creepiness. I've spent hours in the Shard without going mad, I'm not going to start now just because an explore badge says so.
So, don't drink it. Tell your friends not to drink it. Just to be on the safe side, don't swim in it either. Tell your friends. Although, again, I have swum in it in the past, with no ill effects.
Now, if some of my powers were suddenly greyed out because I'd "forgotten" I had them, or the Rularuu started conning friendly and other player characters started conning hostile, or I was hit with a debuff or a temp power of some kind...then I'd buy that the Shadow Shard is messing with my character. But don't tell me the game is doing something to my character and expect me to buy it when obviously nothing is happening, and nothing will continue to happen no matter how much time I spend standing on the badge.
Suspend your disbelief for five seconds and enjoy the game lore. Good lord. -

In my recollection, the beta forums for that issue were disproportionately populated (or at least posted on) by "responsible" and hopeful mission authors who used it as an opportunity to get a head start on the story arcs they wanted to create. Alas, this probably gave the Devs an entirely wrong idea of how most people would use the system. Those who discovered MA exploits during the beta period kept them quiet, in order to use them immediately after the issue went live and the rewards became "real."

You're just a little off. I pronounce the "Kai" as ki with a long i sound (the a is pretty much silent), but the s makes a z sound. So it's KI-zon.
And I kinda lied about the "Dex" thing. I mean, that's how it's always been said while I was growing up, but I've learned that the "true" pronunciation (you know, how my great-great-great's said it) is more like "Desh." I think I'd rather be called "Desh" than "Dex" knowing that, but try telling your family to change how they pronounce your name after they've said it another way for 26 years.

Could the Alpha Slot be coded in a similar way as set bonuses? If you think about it, their bonuses apply in a very similar way. -
I like your ideas, and I do agree with this game's UI being a bit outdated and, often times, clunky.
However, as I have a degree in design with a specialization in User Interface and User Interaction, I can say that the UI in CoX, for what it's worth, is extremely functional and does it's job better than most other MMO UI's I've seen (with the exception of the respec process; that's one ugly mother if you ask me). I'd personally like to see some touch-ups done to the trays/target/nav/status windows, with options to allow merging elements (I want my target window to show the buffs/debuffs of my enemy). -

I felt RNG love last week, Wednesday.
I charged a group of +1/x8 Rikti in a Borea mission.
From that group came the following:
Mako's Bite: Acc/Dam/End/Rech x2
Absolute Amazement: Stun
Absolute Amazement: Endurance/Rech
As I already have one piece of AA I respecced and slotted them in to my rez.
