Mids' Hero/Villain Designer v1.900
Btw, the auto-update from the Issue 18 version doesn't work. It tries (multiple times), but it will not succeed.
It will download the autoupdate. It will ask to close when the download is completed. When it restarts, it will ask to update again (and again). It will keep repeating this cycle.
The 2 column display is incredibly small (ie about 1/3 the size of the 3 column display) making all the IOs unreadable.

I'll double check the auto-update, but I think it has to do with Win 7 permissions (I had the same error, but after I clicked the loop twice, it went through fine).
The size of the layout should be dependent upon your window size - if you increase the size, then it'll scale the images so that you can see it all at once. *checks* But it doesn't... It did in an earlier version, but now the scale is botched. I'll put it in the bugtracker and it'll be fixed with the next version (won't be two months, I swear).

Awesome - thanks for the update.
One bug to report, though: PvPIO's are only showing the PvE bonuses.

Working great when trying to create new builds, or open existing builds that did not have fitness (I had removed it from about half my builds already, using the old version, but not from all of them). When I tried opening older builds (not sure HOW old they are...) that have fitness, it sometimes works fine, and some times I get an index out of bounds exception:
System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.

Thank you oh mighty Mids Team
BTW - the auto update seemed to work fine for me (Windows 7, 64 bit)
I did an auto-update first, having no issues once I remembered to Run as administrator, but after updating, any time I opened mids without running as administrator it would tell me:
"A recently downloaded update pack has not been applied.
In order for a previously downloaded update to be applied, Mid's hero/villain designer must restart.
The program will now exit to apply the update. Please close any other running instances of Mid's Hero/Villain Designer."
Hitting ok makes the screen and blue bar loading thing behind it disappear, but they reapear in seconds saying the same thing. Closing with the X button does not prevent this and the only way I've stopped the loop is with the task manager. Despite having run through the loop in exess of 20 times. Running as Administrator opens Mid's properly. Uninstalling, and reinstalling through the link in this thread sill won't let me open without running as administrator lest I get the above loop.
Anyway, thanks for the work you all put in it. It is much appreciated.

Okay, I'd been previously instructed NOT to use the in-program updater prior to this.
Which is why I was severely wierded out when the CoH Planner site's MAIN LINK tried to download the MHZ file for me (shouldn't the ONLY link on the main page download the installer executable?)
Pursuant to instructions in this thread, I did the "run as administrator" and installed from the updater routine. It's working fine for me now.

That would be an interesting trick. I'm running Vista Home Premium (32 bit) with UAC off as an admin (that is not something I'd recommend for anyone else mind you, but it works for me). I tried autoupdate on starting (5 times), then by the autoupdate from the menu (after telling the startup to get lost), then twice more on startup. I finally had to find your direct link on the Titan Forums & download & install manually.

Huh. Odd. Can the people who are getting this loop take some screenshots or a video? The other thing would be for them to make certain that the mhd.mhz file is properly downloading and appearing in the Mids folder.

I'm running Windows XP. Initially, I kept having the problem William detailed so I uninstalled the program and attempted to re-download it. While trying both 1.9.0 and 1.9.0, I get this: "Unable to decompress data chunk, it seems to be corrupted."
Followed by "An error occured during decompression: Uncompressed data was not the expected size!"
SOLVED: I pasted mhd.mhz from the website over the one in my Program Files and it corrected itself from there. Crazy.

C:\Program Files\Mids Hero Designer
My Mids install directory is:
C:\Games\Mids Hero Designer
Triumph: White Succubus: 50 Ill/Emp/PF Snow Globe: 50 Ice/FF/Ice Strobe: 50 PB Shi Otomi: 50 Ninja/Ninjistu/GW Stalker My other characters
I don't think so... My version is installed to D:\Program Files(x86)\Titan Network\Mids Hero Designer and it works fine. It should be downloading it to the directory the mids' exe is located in. If you have the folder open when it downloads, you'll see it make a temp file, then rename the temp file to mhd.mhz when it finishes.

The auto-updater doesnt seem to want to kick in for me, even when running as admin on Windows 7. I really hate how sometimes it glitches things out with its damn permissions (usually perfectly legit programs)
Oh well, gonna download now from the above link Thanks much guys!
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Everything works great for me and the missus pc, thanx so much for the update!!!
Dont know if you changed something while I couldn't access titan network or if it was because I changed the install location, but everything's working smooth as silk now.
Thanks!

Thanks! I've been waiting on this for quite a while now. I can't wait for the Update with Alpha Slots :P
One question though? Why the prestige sprints? Anything you can do in them you can just do on the regular Sprint and switch ingame if you're using a different one. Too much Clutter IMO and it's just ugly, lol.

I got the same "You have a downloaded update that has not been applied!" message loop and had to use task manager to dismiss it. Ran the program with 'run as administrator', updated the program and ran fine. Exited program, ran the program again, got the same message, had to use task manager to get rid of it. Ran as admin again, program worked fine. Not sure what's wrong... but thanks anyway for the update!
Greetings and salutations!
Issue 19 has come out this past week and, surprise, we've got a new version of Mids' for you. Sadly, we haven't implemented the Alpha Slot yet, but you'll be seeing that in an auto-update later this month. If you have your Auto-Update feature turned on, then you should already be getting the new version when you next activate Mids... Or you can choose to update from within the program. If you really, really want, then you can get a new install exe from the Titan Network.
Have fun!
