Hmmm, I may just look into that. I'm currently the owner of a fleet modeled after our supergroup here, but the fleet system in that game is painful for a really small group (read: 3 players, one playing only semi-regularly). Even If I keep our fleet, the community of familiar players to chat with would be definitely be nice. Thanks for the heads up!

I'll wait for forum confirmation, given NC's seemingly endless trouble with hackers. -
Just so I don't cross-post, I'll consolidate here; thank you!
I went for the last code in each list that is up at this point, or the 2nd to last if the last was already taken
(for the dark matter aura I just grabbed a random one though because holy smokes! There are a ton of codes!)

Bad Idea: Buffing team mates with Speed Boost on the baby new year mission just as everyone gets to the ice rink before Null the Gull was added to the game. (not that bad actually, rather funny if anything
)
Good Idea: Checking to see if a toon's enhancements are valid after not playing them for a while (have had more than one occasion of "Why is my rear being handed to me...oh, 'be right back, forgot to update enhancements'") -
Ok, I messed something up. I was planning to take advantage of this time deal but in the process of attempting to do so (due to a small desk-quake/elbow-bumping) I accidentally removed my credit card from file, you know, the save credit card information allowing for repeat purchases/point purchases and auto renewing, etc, etc. Now if I want to save my credit info to file I have to re-fill everything out, and/or (I'm assuming) make a purchase. I want to take advantage of this time plan, but my account doesn't lapse (which for the record I don't want it to, want to stay VIP as long as I enjoy the game) until july 16th, and I don't want to have to buy more time until that date. Is there any way to re-set-up/re-enter my credit information to my account so I can auto-renew without having to purchase anything (well, maybe with the exception of some points, what I don't want to do/can't do is purchase $140-some-odd dollars of subscription until I need it, aka july 16th.)
So, in short, can I set up auto renew/re-enter my card info without having to purchase anything AND take advantage of this time deal, or am I just Short On Luck and to take advantage of this I would have to buy a full year/half year sub during this time window? -

Well, let's see...
A Beam/Devices Blaster- character concept I've had for awhile, not CoX based but adapted to the game. (ignore the fact that this idea was spawned by Halo 3 ODST- I've never played it nor seen anything other than the idea of orbital drop troopers) Commander of an orbital drop strike team, has matter transmutation devices built into his gloves, uses them to build his gun out of thin air- same case for the assorted devices. -Costume, backstory, etc. complete
A Beam/Time Corruptor- (also I know, I know, just sounds like a fairly lethal hard-target killer- and I'm fond of the concept of Discourgigating targets)- I'm short one concept for this, so upon creation I will have to ad lib everything; not that hard actually.
An Energy/Time Corruptor- Same case as the first one, costume, etc. complete (although his costume depends on some Celestial pieces I won't have, so I'll have to substitute)
A Dark/Psi Blaster- Concept, costume, etc. all finished- really like the concept I developed for this one- sort of a moderator of light and dark forces throughout the universe- part of a group of beings just like him known as the Transversal Ones.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Upon the release of Street Justice- a StJ/Something- Currently simmering on ideas for this one (in other words absolutely clueless)
Upon the release of Titan Weapons- A Titan/Something (maybe energy?) Brute. This will be my first Br00t! (I got that right, right?- or is it the physical embodiment of pure unadulterated SMASH!) The idea of titan weapons momentum mechanic appears to be a perfect match for fury.
And until insperation strikes, that's it. (I will still have to clear some slots out at this point though!)

How about this: if used as the finishing blow to a male character they perform a special death emote- they collapse to their knees with a resounding *ufff* and fall flat on their face.

Sheesh... why do I do this to myself? I'm going to go take a nap. -
Also something I noticed is ally revivers (blue box around the mob, in this case praet. CW) will revive enemy clockwork. It gets rather annoying because you cannot stop the clockwork from reviving his "buddy" because the reviver is an ally.
...But...at least I get free double exp! -

Ok, thanks all, now I just have to decide whether to start in praetoria (and then loyalist or resistance) or go straight to hero. Hmmmm...

I'm looking into making a Broad Sword/Shield Defense character, mostly for thematics (sort of like a Thanagarian, for those who know your DC) and I wanted to know how Broad Sword stood up against other sets. It appears to me to be slower and generally weaker (if only for the commonly resisted damage) than other melee sets. So, I'm asking for those who have played BS/SD, those who have played Broad Sword, or those who just know the set; How does Broad Sword stand up against other sets?

You do know that slotting an alpha ability removes the -4 level debuff on your character, right? (or are you running at difficulty +4 with an alpha boost already slotted for the TF? if so, disregard this.)
As for the updated con system, it's ok but in most cases (read: average player) it's probably unneccesairy. -
I got the same "You have a downloaded update that has not been applied!" message loop and had to use task manager to dismiss it. Ran the program with 'run as administrator', updated the program and ran fine. Exited program, ran the program again, got the same message, had to use task manager to get rid of it. Ran as admin again, program worked fine. Not sure what's wrong... but thanks anyway for the update!

Technically, I still can play --run updater fine, get into game, login, choose character, etc.-- but, within the last week or so my frame rate has dropped to impossible to play levels. Here's what I got from CoH Helper:

My guess to the problem is old drivers because on the test server I get the message "Important: your computer appears to be using older drivers for your video card. City of Heroes may run poorly without updated drivers." (However, I don't see this on live, must be a stealth gimmick for I19, but, that's besides the point.)
P.S. I'd like to mention that I'm on an HP dv 2000 series (I think 2815) entertainment notebook.
Thanks in advance for any help! -
Hey all, I'm planning to try my first swing at a Mastermind (starting in Praetoria) and was wondering wich powerset combination would work better with bots. My playstyle can vary to the playstyle of either set, so I would like to know the pros and cons of each. Thanks
-
Well there is one possibility, start with a fresh vet reward chart. For instance, Give all current vetran rewards (except the truly spectacular ones: ie. City Traveler) to all players. (or possibly all players over the three month mark. For instance, the first reward on the new veteran reward chart would/could be NewVetran Reward: 3 Months: VetPack. That way, if a player wanted X item for their character (assuming they liked the game) Paragon Studios would gain at least $45 worth of revenue while said player waited for the VetPack.)
Also for existing veterans, so they don't get shafted for this set of 3 months, (unless you wouldn't mind...but I'm watching where I step with that) the NewVetran Reward system (at least on the VetPack reward) would check for an old vet badge, say 4-6 years, and give the first NewVetran reward to them. Whereas players who were not past that mark get the VetPack, so any true vetrans (4-6+ years) would have any NewVetran Reward for three months before any other (3 or less years) player. (if this happened, all existing players would be set on the exact same vet reward schedule, meaning all players would have to be given their next vet reward if they earned any time towards it.)
And If just giving the vet rewards would not be appropriate, they could be set as rewards for a multitude of/one or two solo-able story arcs or trials.
What do you all think? -
Hey all, with the advent of Going Rogue I can finally try out the red side archetypes.(never liked playing red side before)
I am planning on making an Electric Control Dominator but I cannot decide on a secondary powerset. I am tied at a decision between Earth Assault or Electricity Assault, both look like good powersets and can be fit in with my character's design thematicly.
Mostly, I would like to know the pros and cons of each set and how they should/would perform with Electric control. Thanks in advance for any help. -
I do have one question though, not being very tech-savvy myself, does this driver update apply to all Nvidia cards? (I have a GeForce 7150m/nforce 630m Graphics card (on a laptop) with the 179.91 drivers according to the smartscan tool on the Nvidia website.)
Thanks in advance for any possible help!

I just installed a second copy of coh to my computer and am having some difficulties. But before I ask, when installing the second copy should I install to the same folder as my regular coh? I ask this because when installing my computer asks me wether or not I want to install it in the same folder or not. When my computer asks me this it says if I do not install to the same folder, there will be problems with uninstalling. I am curious as to if this would be true. Also since I installed a second copy of coh shouldn't there be second copies of the program files in the coh folder if I installed to the same folder (asking because there is only one copy still, Also if it is in the same folder would it have just instaled over the origional, deleting previous patches.) A side note, in my start menu there are two files one with regular coh in it the other with test, if I did the test shortcut on the second start menu file would that allow for differentiation between the coh files? I'm asking this because I am really hoping I did not make a mistake and have to uninstall and re-install it all. (sorry for wall of text, tab button busted)
