A rookery is defined as a place where gregarious birds gather, sometimes also applied to other animals as well.
As an alternative definition, it is a series of run down tenements.
For our purposes though, The Rookery. (with a dot) is a daily thread set up originally by the user known as Rookery. (also with a dot, see) where people could gather, be social and silly without being all disruptive of the rest of the forum. Of course, some people insist on being disrupted anyway, but that's another issue.
Fantasically speaking, The Rookery. is a large house/club/coffee shop/ski lodge/whatever it needs to be that exists somewhere outside of time and space that we can visit. It has automatic chef bots that can create any kind of food or drink that you want and the house itself is alive and intelligent, changing it's form to suit the desires of the people here and the theme of the day.
Also, we have my contribution, the Flying Bean Bag Chairs (or FBBCs) for people to relax or nap in. Everyone can customize theirs to how they like, or you can just lay around in one. Just watch out for Bitey, it bites.
