  1. First to the OP: 11/30/2010-04/05/2011. That's 4 months and 5 days. Pretty generous rounding up there to get to 5 months, no? And it isn't really any longer than previous years. The December holidays slow development down. This is why we get the Winter and Valentine Events right on top of each other, to give us something to do to distract us, and is also why the first Issue of a calendar year pretty much always comes after the longest gap.

    11/28/06-05/01/07: Issue 8 to Issue 9 gap.
    11/28/07-05/20/08: Issue 11 to Issue 12 gap.
    12/02/08-04/07/09: Issue 13 to Issue 14 gap.
09/15/09-04/28/10: Issue 16 to Issue 17 gap. (actually the longest gap in Issues since the game was released.)

That last one was an outlier, as proven by this year's 4 month and 5 day gap. This one is tied for the shortest since the 2004-2005 gap, which was also a special circumstance, since Issue 3 got held up by lengthy balancing debates, and ran into the holiday vacation time, so it sat on Test for 2 weeks in the same form that went live because nobody was going to pay the programmers who could fix any showstoppers holiday pay.

About ED and subscription losses: CoV did far more than just cover the losses to ED. It pushed the reported subscriber numbers for the quarter in which it was released to the highest that this game would ever see. Rather than merely covering the loss from ED, it increased the subscriptions by 33%, from 150k to 200k.

    Defense :
The Defense seems to be pretty flat (0%) sorry i was not able to take a good print screen , but I saw it with no debuff , at 0%.

    Base values:
from the base value i look at the regen, again my print screen is lame, but i got the info i wanted. his regen is low, and get in negative numbers easy.

    Resist:
At least i got 2 good shot at resist, Enraged and pacified.
I also saw his resist getting lower then 100% with debuff, when enraged.
So my conclusion ... yes we should only stress about resist.

Those numbers look off. I know that when he's Enraged, and not in Unstoppable, the fire damage from my Reactive Interface still ticks, but in very low numbers. It is big 0s when he's in Unstoppable, though.

I'd love to see the status protection and resists, though. At first I thought he, Nightstar and Siege were immune, but then I saw Siege look like he was very briefly held. My guess is that they have purple triangles up or higher protection at all times, along with a very high resist to all, which cuts any that do land very short.

This is contrary to my experience, and that of OV_Ohms, from this thread. It looks to me like Enraged status gives him about 95% resist to everything but Smashing and Lethal. He gets 100% or more to those. I have no Toxic damage to check with, but I have plenty of Psi, some Smashing, some Fire from the Reactive Interface, and some Negative from Void Judgement, and it seems to hold true across them all.

I've only been on a couple of Lambdas where we got all of the acids and all of the doors were taken care of immediately. Most of the time, we get all of the acids, but at least 1 or 2 doors remain. Last night it was one. After explaining where to find the power on League chat, it still took us 2 extra chambers destroyed outside before someone who was paying attention got the acid and used it. Either the powers aren't granting consistently, or people just aren't paying attention to League chat. I'm betting on the latter.
  5. I think it's more a matter of having tons of resist debuffs and damage that isn't Smashing or Lethal.

  7. A couple of things that I've thought about with that cutscene:

    1. I think I know what's in Enriche now. My theory is that they're pumping Mother full of hormones to produce mind-controlling breast milk to put in there.

    2. Oh, look! An upskirt shot of Nightstar. That's... really weird. Screen focused on metal crotch.

I assume that angle in the Nightstar shot is due to how massive Siege is, and lining things up so that he fits on the screen.

... or perhaps not. I did a Lambda Sector Trial last night and contributed roughly what I would on any normal run, and I got this "Consolation prize" reward table of 10 threads or 1 Super! Insp again. Now I think that it might just be the other end of the bell curve, but one chosen at random. Sometimes you get really lucky, and receive a Very Rare table, and sometimes you get the shaft.

edit: at least 14/16 of our league was triple level shifted too
With only about 1/4 of our League at 50 (+3) we managed to take away at least 16% in 4 minutes, possibly as high as 20%. Factoring out everything else, that would mean 20-24 minutes just on him. The jumping around, and having to regroup every time he does, plus the new mobs at each location, would make this difficult, for certain. Resistance debuffs might help, at least to let the smashing and lethal users contribute some damage to it, but it's going to take some doing. Perhaps if everyone, especially smashing and lethal users, slotted a high-tier Reactive Interface (the ones with the high chance for fire DoT, especially) there might be a better chance.

  13. It isn't quite 0 damage across the board, either. Enraged status gives him something like 95% resistance to Psi damage, for instance. I haven't run these on anything but my Mind Controller, so I haven't tested with many damage types.

Our League got Synchronized on my third failed run last night without really trying. It's going to be luck of the draw on that one, of course, since there's not some kind of interface that tells you that each team has engaged a destructible object, and shows their comparative health, such as the obelisk things in the Cathedral of Pain.

I can hardly believe that I just praised an element of the Cathedral of Pain design.

Exactly. You can complete the trial itself just fine on a PUG. Getting the Master of badge for it will likely be a thing to attempt at a later time, when you have the 4 new powers that give nice buffs, debuffs and damage, and up to 2 Incarnate content level shifts, so you'll only be facing +1s.

Think of those Master badges for the trials as giving you some kind of challenge to shoot for when you're all properly buffed up with all of this new power.

You only get components from a completed trial. However during the trial you will get threads and Astral Merits (which can be exchanged for threads). You will also get Incarnate XP (which unlocks the new slots). It is possible to build up common and uncommon components using threads alone. Rare and Very Rare components are available through threads alone but it takes a LOT of threads.
This might be the way that it was intended, but I definitely had an Uncommon Component drop during a failed Lambda Sector Trial. It wasn't something that I crafted, since it doesn't appear to be in any of the recipes for things that I'm looking at crafting right now. This might just be new release bugginess, like a wrong call made for what was supposed to be an Incarnate Thread, but it did happen that one time.

For a Primal, the grand total possible now would be 1226, I believe. It was 1208 prior to Issue 20, and it looks like only 18 were added with this issue.

Praetorians are up 4 on that, but down about 15 with anniversaries and Gladiators, from what I can tell. 5th Columnist plus the one for their 25 badges earned badge, and the potential 2 each for their level 10, 20 and 30 badges that Primals can get if they switch sides. This is assuming that Passport for NA to EU transfer accounts was an account-wide badge that granted for all transferred characters and for every character made after the transfer. I have no idea about how that works, to be honest. If so, a Praetorian's total possible would be 1215.

Obviously, this doesn't count 1-8 Times The Victor, if you decided to go back and run a Katie TF after getting Ten Times The Victor, and quit after defeating her 8 times, just to have as many badges on you as possible, or Member of the Scorpion Clan and associated Legacy Chain Gladiator, which, last I heard, some people still had on characters from way back before Issue 7.

I honestly want to use the Katie trick to spam the Most Recent tab with all 1-8 Times The Victors once I get everything else there is. It should only take 7 runs.

As far as I recall, all the generic brands simply have "Fred Meyer's" stamped on them.
Fred Meyer would be one of the "several other chains" that Kroger purchased out West.

I got back into CoX late November for issue 19 and I only had two 50's at the time. With the introduction of weekly events I've seen regular events get pushed to the side. For instance the winter events, how many people took time out of their shard hunting and incarnate building schedule to do this. On 4 different servers is where I house my chars and on each it was a hassle to find people to do them with at any lvl.
Move onto spring fling - Again people are to busy grinding away shards and such to really give their time for it. I had four separate times where I would join someone we would do their part of the mish and then they would find some excuse to quite or just log off (I chalk up most of these to people who are D*%^@).
And the final annoyance - Task Forces that have nothing to do with shards! No one wants to do them?... Unless they are attached to a weekly strike, hence why Manticore was such a successful campaign again.
Does any one else feel getting a group together for a TF (super groups not included) a royal pain! I have so many alts that joining a SG on one of the four servers would not be kind to them because sometimes I just don't come back to those chars for some time. And if I joined one on each server that's to much time i don't have to give to keep from being kicked out for inactivity.

I think this all I have to say with out some feedback.
The Events have been like that for the last couple of years. People run them very early, like the first week, then it becomes more difficult to get a team together for them. It doesn't help that the more recent ones, Banners and Lord Winter's Realm, take more people to complete successfully.

Task Forces other than the WST or ITF are harder to get teams for, for certain, but joining a large public Global channel for your server definitely helps. I was able to organize a Sara Moore Task Force on one of Infinity's public Globals in under 30 minutes on Saturday, for instance. Becoming part of the community on one of those channels can also benefit you by putting you in contact with players who share your interests. By doing this, I was able to get 5 of the 8 people for a successful Master of Barracuda Strike Force run quite late on a Wednesday night, getting one other from a conversation a couple of days prior about the badge, another from my Global list that probably didn't care much for the badge, and the final from a random team search. That's a Strike Force that most players don't even like to do as a WST, given the time sinks built into it, and certainly doesn't hold much greater appeal for the kind of methodical play that a Master of attempt generally requires.

To sum up: The people that like to do the things that you do are out there. You just have to use the tools at hand to get into contact with them.

They mainly exist in the Eastern part of the country, but their presence is nationwide, thanks to their purchase of Ralph's and several other chains out West. About the only area in the continental U.S. that doesn't have Kroger-owned grocery stores is from Maryland through Maine, the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions.

And the retcon, later explained away as an overzealous copy edit, did change the plaque in Atlas for a time. Player outcry led them to change it back.

There are no references to Hitler, Nazism, or the 5th Column in the CoH novels. There are a few oblique references to Italian Fascism in the first of the two novels.

I don't think you have any idea how fast the good names got snatched up in the first year. Names as obviously appealing as those were probably gone in the first 3 months.
As character names, they probably were in use. Globals, however, didn't go live until almost a week after the EU servers went live. February 4th, 2005 was the live date for EU and February 9th, 2005 was the date for the Global Chat initial release for the live servers.

There was a period beforehand here on the NA forums to change your forum handle to reserve your Global handle, but that would have only been known to those who come to the forums, or had heard about it from friends who did. With the option to transfer accounts from NA to EU, some of these players might even be losing their Globals to the ghosts of their former accounts.
