  1. Trying out a different title format, because if that is going to get fixed it needs to be done while the forum is still new. I think AT-powersets-then whatever useless info people want- would make the board actually useable. Also, I think its safe to assume everything is going to be PvE unless specified otherwise. If my logical thread title makes the rest of the forum look too bad in comparison, devs can delete it if they want.

To the build- Instead of focusing on s/l, Im letting katana cap melee and lethal. I am wondering how many enemies have attacks that are smashing that wouldn't get stopped by my other def? So smashing/ranged or smashing/aoe attacks basically. I expect my smashing resistance and my regen to be able to take care of the few attacks that fit this criteria.
The build isnt complete yet, but Im curious about this def before I keep going.

  2. Well now that the first page is full, its obvious the Build Workshop needs to be split up for separate ATs.......

The buffing sets (Thermal, Cold) seem to often almost annoy people when you cover them in armor they did not choose

Anyways, I am open to anything - just maybe give a pointer or two so stink less at it.

    Thanks!
If you dont like the anchors on rad, give /time a try. I recommend it with dark, though sonic would be good if you can stand the noises. A dark/time corr offers good support ability, but you can focus more on attacking while supporting.

The -res from the venom grenade and artic breath PLUS the melting effect from Bile Spray from the crab alone and all the secondary toxic from the bane and the widow (since toxic is a rarely resisted damage)... You would drop folks in their tracks before they knew Arachnos was in the hizzy.
I think this would be awesome. The more spiders on a team the better, and having a little variety makes the team more interesting.

When someone wants to find a grav/storm build they will have to dig through 80 pages of brute builds to find it.
If this is a "give me a build" forum, I'm not seeing how begging for one here is easier than begging for it in the AT forums. Oh well, we will see how it goes.

It only picks the highest defense and uses that. So 30% defense in your example.

Some of the elemental shields are barely noticeable if colored right. On my elec/SD I used the elec style shield and the few times I notice its there it looks awesome. Sometimes I forget that I have /SD

Is there something I am not recognizing or doing wrong?
At what level? At really low levels the numbers might be too small to compare.

I just hit 1 baddie with shout for 47 damage, then shriek, then shout again for 58 damage. At my level 23 defender values (not even slotted for damage yet), that is noticeable. With a level 50 blaster on my team it would be ridiculous. Then considering eventually having a good attack chain will keep the -res even higher... well, /sonic is pretty intense.

Also is there a way to trigger a costume change when my fury bar is full?
You can do a keybind/macro with a costume change emote, but you will have to manually push the button when fury is up.

I love regen, but I still think wp is better at nearly everything.

I actually feel the same about *most* blaster secondaries. I do see how the flavor of them is a bit different and can impact some, but FOR ME, the choice doesn't matter much. I won't have much issues liking the primary regardless of my secondary choice. I have some blasters (fire/fire, for example) that I use literally ZERO powers from my secondary.

    Am I the only one?
Defender secondaries are plenty helpful. -resist in sonic, -tohit in dark, etc some secondary sets will go better with some primaries.
I'm curious to see your blaster builds. I can't imagine not using my secondary.

Lol I do all of those if a concept requires it. My SS brute has flurry instead of gloom. He is a boxer, he punches things. Are you suggesting he is a leech even though he kills things and soaks up aggro for the team?
  13. I'm fine with no set bonuses for premiums. But those enhancements should do SOMETHING. I logged into my second account to find my characters at 0% enhancement to everything, and no cheap way to remove the enhancements and sell them. Even the basic IOs are at 0%
I don't see that as enticing old players to come back.

Where did you buy street justice from? I got mine free from the paragon market with my free points, didnt pay a cent for it.
In other words, I only continue to pay my monthly sub and I am going to get every new powerset for free. If you blew all your points on emotes or some crap you can still wait and get the powersets for free, eventually.

You can't really blame NCSoft for your impulsiveness.
  15. Is there any reason to make a kat/wp as a scrapper (other than avoiding the fury mechanic)? Is the scrap damage high enough to notice a difference?

Beam is one of the sets you have to buy. Time manip is the new free one.
  20. My dark/time corr isn't very high lvl yet, but so far I'm really liking all the -tohit. Also time can be colored to match dark pretty well.

I love my regen, but I dont see it as being a tanking type. You can make it survivable by adding as much def as possible, but WP is a better choice if you want a self healing tank-ish character.

I don't have access to mids currently, but if someone hasn't posted something by next week I will. My regen is due for a major revamp for I21.

*well I was confused about what forum I was in, but I'll be working on a brand new brute build for I21 also.
